Performance of "The Circle of Life" that opened the 2008 Tony Awards, which celebrated the show's 10th year on Broadway. I own nothing, no copyright infringement intended.
I hate those giraffes. Every time they appear I lose my shit, I can NEVER watch ANY Circle of life video without bursting into tears in the moment those giraffes appear.
I was in the audience for this! Can't describe how emotionally overwhelming it is to be in the audience of the Tony's.....not to mention having Lion King opening. So wonderful to see it being played back......b/c I'm pretty sure I was weaping the entire time. The magic that night was palpable!!!!
I tear up EVERY time. Ive watched this video countless times and see the show twice. The lioness part is by far my favorite. That dance is beautiful. Id love to know what dance style its modeled after.
The reaction of the crowd...just wow! It gives me goosebumps every time :) So awesome!! Ive been to the musical here in Holland a few weeks ago and to experience the real thing is amazing!
Still watching in 2019. What can I say? This is my favorite video of this song! I really love the birds flying over the audience towards the end. The small details help make this show so amazing.
I watched it last saurday on Broadway. That was with no doubt the most beautiful and amazing thing i have ever seen in my entire life! I'd see it all over again for several times!
I had the pleasure of sitting to the left of the orchestra at the Pantages in 2001. The opening moment will forever bring me to tears! Gorgeous THE GIRAFFES WERE AMAZING!!!!!!
lion king is def the most emotional and touching musical i've seen so far. Altho diff genre Book of Mormon impressed me just as much. Lion king was most touching musical and the book of mormon was the most enjoyable so far of all the countless musicals i've seen.
I was lucky to see this when I was little and seeing this in person is the best way to see this, the costumes, the settings, the makeup, hearing it in person, and basically everything is just amazing. if you ever get the see it, I would recommend seeing it
If i could hit the LIKE button one million times, i would! This is an amazing show!!! I just saw this in Las Vegas and was Awe Struck. Absolutely Stunning. It's moments like this that make you love life!...and glad to be alive!!
man.. i just randomly came in to tears and realized how everyone will once have children just like our parents had us and life moves on. people do great things in their life that doesnt have to be known by the world but just in a personal way. i cried just realizing it and how everyone will one day realize it. i hope everyone has a life that when they grow old they could think back and say "man, i feel great on how i spent my life." and life moves on to generation. im a dude and im almost 17.
This performance made me cry. I'm so happy Disney did this right and made the Broadway show as amazing as it could be. The costumes, the dances, the singing. God that was beautiful and I hope I get to see it live.
Seriously guys, you could watch this all day on youtube and it would never be the same as seeing it in real life on stage. Do yourself a favour and go see this musical, its incredible.
The Lion King is definitely G.O.A.T. & this performance was magnificent. I saw it on Disney on Ice & it was fantastic, the only thing I would ever watch on Broadway.
I saw this with my parents I was around 9 or 10 at the Pantages in Hollywood and I'll never forget it. I think was sitting one seat away from the right center aisle and maybe less than rows away from the stage. When I saw those animals come up beside me, I lost it. Complete waterworks. I knew they were people dressed as animals but to me, they WERE real animals. Even now, over 10 years later, it still gets to me.
i've seen this performance 3 times and its just as breathtaking each time, and its even better on a larger stage, if you ever have a chance to see it spare no expense!
