  • Shubhada Paradkar was one of the featured artistes at the FEA-curated MEETING RIVERS concert in Mumbai. She began her recital with a wonderful Raag Shree.
She was accompanied by Yati Bhagwat on tabla and Omkar Agnihotri on harmonium. Tanpuras and vocal support were provided by her disciples Rashmi Paradkar-Sule, Aishwarya Rao and Mugdha Vaishampayan.

    मला औध येथे गजानन बुवांनी सायंकाळी सादर केलेल्या श्री राग गायनाची प्रकर्षाने आठवण झाली.वा फारच अप्रतीम.

I am representative of Jaipur Gharan, but I love Shubhada tai's majestic voice. She is definitely lucky to recived traning from Pt. Gajananbua Joshi. She is the one of the great disciple of Pt.Gajananbua Joshi. :)

Shree Raag is epitome of Hindustani Classical Music. Sung in evening, it is very serious raag. Only few can give justice to it. Subhadatai has presented it well.

I have watched this video many times over the past couple of years and each time it leaves me amazed. Shree is one of the most severe and most difficult of all raags and yet Shubhada tai is able to produce from it a performance of such exuberance, power and, in the last two bandishes, sheer fun. Although her natural voice is not the finest, as a performer on stage, few can match her. Credit also to all performers. Her three young shishyas are brilliant (especially Aishwarya Rao) as are her two accompanists on harmonium and tabla.

See man, in Agra gharana follows shuddha gayaki..dhrupad alap is generally followed by a kheyal or dhamar composition..this is the norm. This is how students and singers are trained in Agra tradition. Ever heard the name of ustad faiyaz Khan? Pity on you.

Yes, I have heard it both ways... Haldankar kaka was known to make little changes to his compositions sometimes... Aai may have learnt the first version, many others learnt the later version.. or something of that sort.

Actually she learnt under both Gwalior (Pt. Gajananbuwa Joshi) and Agra (Pt. Madhusudan Joshi- Baroda and Pt. Babanrao Haldankar)...
She has learnt under Jaipur and Kirana too... But her Gayaki mainly displays Gwalior and Agra Shades prominently.
