i'm not super happy with the way the script turned out, and i could have gone deeper in to the other good cards in the zombie type, but i feel like i had enough to say to make this video worth putting out, after all. please let me know how you feel , and if you think i missed any important points! also dont ask me how vamp kingdom sneaked in there lmao
I personally love how the Zombie World package can be used in every Zombie Deck (and even with non-Zombie cards) and make it better, it make it feel like the entire type is much more cohesive and united than any other, even compared to other Types that also can play pas pile of their generic support, like Dinos and Dragons. We are all equals on the eyes of death after all
What zombie lacks right now is a Link 1 and/or protection, I've made some custom cards that cover those weaknesses, also I don't think there is a problem with zombie world package, it still holds up great to this day, they really just need a way to continue playing after a negation or a way to avoid the negation.
Exactly, a zombie link 1 is really needed to enable plays easier starting from a single card. Any way to see your custom cards you made? Kinda interested.
Its a fantastic video, but man, i just cant agree with your point... So many zombie decks dont play zombie world, and those that do (with the exception of the generic Zombie deck) tend to use it as a supplement to a pre-existing deck. I'd argue that the "dinosaur" core from their structure is just as dominant over the type if not more; and honestly, id argue many types have synergies as strong or stronger than zombie world. I am one of the ride-or-die fans you talk about for the zombie world deck so i absolutely am biased, but i think saying zombie world "ruined" zombies is kind of ridiculous; even so, I respect your opinion and enjoyed the way it was presented. Good work.
Hard disagree. Yes, you put it in every zombie deck, but no, it's not the center piece. It's basically supplementary to whatever you're playing. If anything, it's what makes zombie decks playable because their normal lines are not enough. In fact, the zombie world by itself is not enough and requires a zombie archetype to fuel it. You could say that the card is so powerful that it limits future card design because zombies have such powerful generics, konami can't make a busted zombie archetype. But I don't see how that's different from it existing and making all mediocre zombie decks have busted potential.
Agreed. I've been building Zombie decks for a while and while zombie world is in most of them, they are there for a reason that's more than just "Doomking summon itself on enemy turn". My favorite archetype to play for Zombies is Vampires and thanks to Sucker, I am practically a deck that tributes my opponents monsters most of the time since they either didn't get rid of the field spell and I used mizuki to get back my destroyed sucker, or because I chose that to use Super Poly on them before they could. And I am still able to do something similar without Zombie World because everyone uses Ash Blossom. (Just have ghost in grave shadow in hand and use sucker to get that ash to become tribute for shadow, starting the basic chain) Even Shiranui don't need Zombie World for their synchro monsters and banishing for extra combos and effects. It's only a staple because of the synergy with Super Poly.
Problem with Zombie World is that not enough meta cards lock you into a certain Type right now but rather into an archetype name or level/rank and even these cards are not many and people tend to avoid them in multiples. Wyrm, Cyberse and Dragon link are not that meta relevant and can still play under Zombie World. Still the card has potential mostly combined with Super Poly and Rivalry as a control strategy rather than a fancy combo deck.
Honestly, Zombie World is a simple card that just enables all my shennanigans, I've made Hybrid Zombie decks of just about everything I've found interesting.
I do love zombie world decks but I am upset that most zombie decks are lockdown decks, we need to have a zombie combo deck, we have decent agro zombie stuff in skull servant and builds of vampire and shiranui but I’d love to quick combos or dabble in extra deck mechanics
I’m a skull servant player and been playing it for years and have made it as competitive as possible. In the past I was able to end on a board of naturia beast, shen shen, aruradon, and savage dragon but zombies always get hit by way of colateral damage on the ban list. And any zombie archetype support is trash. Uni should had at the very least been a discard from hand to grave as cost to activate that effect. On topic, banshee should have been a discard from hand like ahrima the wicked warden. But no we can’t have nice things. We don’t have a link one monster and if you boil it down the only two zombie monsters worth playing are uni and mezuki or anything that will get us to those two cards. Pretty much zombies are dead, no pun intended just tears of sadness, until they give us some actual good support.
And now we wait and hope so konami doesnt get the nee and old "ghost monster" and make them into illusion monsters... That could be what trully kills zombies.
Yeah. One huge problem is that zombies don’t have any real special summoning monsters except from the grave. And there’s not tons of cards that send zombies to your grave so you need stuff like lightsworn and tearelements to send stuff to the grave.
Maybe too late but, bruh? Have you ever try a zombie deck? Uni zombie, changshi, gozuki( in case of send specific) and new support to send. Not event mention about the thing that or add or draw like vampire sucker, blow-up boom,... And the zombie type says everything. It's revolve around ss from gy, what do you want for a zombie deck to do?
What's wrong with wanting Pyro to be good or even playable? The type hasn't had a pure archetype since Volcanic and Rush Duel has two or three new Pyro archetypes which are unique in build path and thematic. I love Zombie World in Edison, pair it with Machina because of how ZW doesn't affect hand so Fortress can still be summoned out.
Who reads Ghost fusion and says it has zombie world synergy? The card requires zombies ON FIELD making it worse than generic fusion/polymerization. And if I banish a zombie from deck zombie world wouldn’t be effecting that card. Furthermore the only thing Zombie world as a floodgate stops is tribute summoning. a mechanic rarely used and the decks that do (monarchs) have an in archetype out to it. The card isn’t a good card. Maybe it’s side material in a few formats like dragon link where far more problems exist. Zombies have been shafted by Konami since before the card was made and continue to get support that is 2 to 5 years behind the current meta game.
It’s not as important as you say it is. The entire strategy doesn’t run on it unless your only boss monster is balerdroch. I play branded zombie eldlich, and the need for zombie world is very minor.
Absolutely spitting facts, it's crazy how Zombie World just manages to turn every Zombie deck into something that just takes this Auto-Win con against a huge chunk of decks and Banshee is definitely a fair main blame target. Good video and a well argued point ^^
@@babbit09 Dragon Link is right on the Money tbh, everything that needs typal synergies or Monsters of it's specific Type. Stuff Like: EARTH Machine, Swordsoul(yes you can still make Baronne but stuff like Chixiao, Evil Lonyuan and Blackout requires Wyrms, Rikka/Sunavalon or Beetroopers Not to mention that the Rivalry interaction is brutal (although that might definitely be more of a Rivalry Problem lol)
@@ThePowerToolDuelist I see your point but I've always seen Zombies as the gatekeeper to the rogue tier list. If a deck cannot win at all Vs Zombies then it wont go long in a tournament. But its not like zombies have so many negates that you cant play through their board and get rid of Zombie World. Most decks these days have multiple ways around backrow and because of that Zombies are rogue at best. These complaints just seem like personal beef with the cards floodgate effect which isn't strong by itself. Most decks don't even tribute anymore or care for the card-type.
@@DrKoala6 Personal bias definitely plays a good part in this. And I would agree with the Sentiment that Zombies are this "Rogue gatekeeper" but and I feel like the Video highlights this point very well that's Just Not an interesting or fun Gameplan/Design philosophy for the Future. Especially since what's keeping Zombies in that Slot atm is the Low ceiling of the Deck outside of Zombie world since you're Not making crazy amounts of disruption and Most of it isn't hard negation and Most modern Decks being more reliant on their Archetype than Type on Field or in GY. But once that changes, and I feel like that's also the Main Point of the Video that I can agree with, this Just Like many Other floodgates become a Problem.
@babbit09 Not auto-win, but Fur Hire needs to have multiple types of monsters on the field in order to get into its archetype Links, and Zombie World completely screws over their ability to get to an ideal end board unless they can destroy it in between.
