  • This video is to demonstrate how you thread a vintage brother sewing machine this one is from the 1960s but a lot of them work in a very similar way.

    good teacher. Thank you. I'm 65 years old and this is my first sewing machine, it's a vintage Brother from when Christ was a child.

    Thank you so very much for this incredible informative vide. I just inherited my mom's vintage Brother Profile 821, 1965 sewing machine and I would have never got this rite. I did call Brother yesterday and they sent me a PDF file, manual I printed out so again, super thankful for his video, keep them coming..

    Hi ive just been gifted a Vintage Jones machine. This looks to be incredibly helpful. Although im unsure if i have a zigzag foot? It has only come with one and doesnt look wide enough although the settings are on the machine to use. Its an incredibly heavy machine. Im quiet new to sewing and only used a modern Brother so far. Have a lovely day and thanks again 😊

    • @mepnel
      @mepnel  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, so many of the older machines are very similar as when the patents expired other manufacturers simply copied them.

    Where is light ball for this machine? How do you turn it on?

  • @izzybmariek

    I have this machine and every time I go to sew the thread breaks, it’s a new needle and new thread. But the thread always breaks on the top. I even changed out the foot. The bobbin is properly put in as well… my tension spring might be broken? I’m not sure though

    • @mepnel
      @mepnel  Před rokem

      Try checking your bobbin tension as it may be too tight and that could snap the top thread. Also try threading the top. Then pull some thread and see how tight your top tension is….with the presserfoot up it should pull easily. Then put the presserfoot down and try pulling thread again and it should be difficult to pull because the tension disks are gripping it. Good luck. Michele

    Hi I love your videos. I just purchased an old beautiful condition 1964 model lemair 648 sewing machine from a garage sale. But I don’t understand what the knobs and stitch patterns mean. Would it be possible to give me an email so I can send you photo of the machine so you can tell me what function the knobs have and which stitch pattern is a sstraight liner stitch please.

    Anyone know anything about the Brother Galaxie 1361 sewing machine? I think It dates to the 60’s, but not sure of that. Having such a hard time locating anything about it. It is yellow and olive in color. I can’t even find a manual on it. Thanks !
