I never did serve with this fine Soldier and Man. Glad I was not in the combat he was. Something tells me, he is also glad that I was not in his combat situations either. He fought them for all of us. What a MAN.

Extraordinary man from the Sioux nation, wanted by pro baseball for his 100 mph pitches, 6'4" tall, humble, athletic, serves in WWII then Korea saying he had to teach the young guys how to fight a war and survive. He performed countless medal of honor feats in battle saving many lives.
His team mates in war and his family worked to get him his Medal of Honor. After decades and tenacity, Woodrow Keeble received his medal.

The true selflessness of MSgt Keeble, is, to me, an inspiration for the ages. Thank God, his fellow solders persisted for the MOH, which is truly a no-brainer. America needs to be reminded on a regular basis of the multitude of sacrifices made by Woody and thousands - if not tens of thousands of unsung heroes, who were, and continue to be, instrumental in preserving the American dream and way of life. Untold numbers of individual acts throughout our history are the basis of what this country stands for. It is my hope and dreams that these acts never fade into the forgotten, for we would not be here in this capacity without their contributions.

I was required to write a paper on a CMH recipient in an NCO school 20 yeears ago. I chose to write mine on MSG Keeble. Very amazing man. They didn't mention in this that after being that badly wounded and taking out the bunkers, he went right back into combat again the following day. Absolute Legend.

I went through Waubay, South Dakota a few times and had seen the hero's sign. I was curious so I looked him up on the interweb. WOW, what a man to emulate! He's right up there with Audie Murphy and Col. James Howard!! I'm glad I found out more about this hero!! I'm proud he's from the tribe!!

There should be a "Platinum Level" of the CMH, and only a very select few would qualify, Woodrow Keeble would be among those select few. The Bravery and fortitude of a man doing by himself what 3 full platoons ,and artillery and air support, could not , is nothing short of incredible... Ronald Rosser is in my opinion also a " platinum level" CMH member for a feat similar to Keeble,s I salute them both
