  • Blind Alfred Reed discography -- www.wirz.de/music/reedbfrm.htm
Recorded December 1927 for Victor; Alfred Reed - Fiddle, Vocals ; Arville Reed (Alfred's son) - Guitar
Researcher Bob Eagle kindly provided me with this info: Christopher Columbus Lively (born Lively, Fayette County, WV, 7 Feb 1849) died at Lively, on 2 Sep 1927, about 3 months before Reed's recording (which was December, not October). Christopher's wife, nee Mary Elizabeth Fisher (born Monroe County, 30 Sep 1854) also died on that date and at that place. Reed was living in Summers County, WV, in 1930, so he was in the vicinity. Reed mentions Pax junction in his song. Lively is on the railroad, just north of Pax. Pax is on Packs (sic) Branch, a local creek.
