I'd love a film about a newly turned vampire who is constantly questioning what he can and can't do because of superstitions. Like he's having a chat with someone but stops dead in his tracks because they've just reached a bridge over running water and he doesn't know what to do

Have a look at "What we do in the shadows" it's a mockumentary about some old vampires and a new one in today times. The new vampire struggles to adept to the vampire life. It's quite fun
and don't forget he also chose to change the i in vampire to a y, cause it looked more sophisticated
Bailey Alexis Snow The film 'Interview With The Vampire' based on the Anne Rice novel is almost exactly what you describe and is often heralded as one of the best vampire films to date.
Probably worth a watch, I'm a big gothic horror fan and love anything vampires, it's the best I've seen that truly captures the struggle of a newly made vampire.

It's clearly heavily influenced by Vampire the Masquerade rpg already, considering it seems to have different clan types of vampires, powers like boiling your victim's blood, and aggravated damage (which is the same gameplay term used by the White Wolf game).

Daaaaaaamn, video games already have a problem with male protagonists always having dead female relatives and/or significant others but this game just went straight into it and had you murder your sister personally within the first five minutes. I'm both aggravated and impressed with this efficiency.

I miss Vampire the Masquerade. I was hoping this game was going to be in the same spirit. But they focus so much on their crappy combat that it ruined it for me. Awkward combat with a bland world to explore, no thanks.

No, no, no! Kids didn’t collect bodies and throw them in the river. That would have been wasteful. Instead, they would collect them and take them back to the shop to get their recycling deposit back. If you took two corpses back, you’d get enough for a packet of polo mints... or something. I don’t remember exactly as I didn’t really pay attention to history in school.

Side note. The old staff of White Wolf are now mostly in the company of Onyx Path. The name White Wolf and the licenses to World of Darkness have passed through a number of hands. Onyx Path is still making Chronicles of Darkness (NWoD) but only under allowance by the new White Wolf.

Fun fact: the word Vampyr is not actually misspelled if you're speaking in the Medieval Southeastern Romanian language. It's debatable where the word "Vampire" and "Vampiric" first came into use, but the when is not so mysterious. For more information please read The World of Lore Monstrous Creatures, the first section of the book is entirely on the undead and the first two chapters on Vampires. It's also an amazing book by an amazing author. And oh man I cannot wait to play this game!!!!

Funnily enough, one of the problems the police faced in trying to figure out who Jack the Ripper was was the amount of butchers and fishermen and so on who would be walking around covered in blood with a bunch of knives on them, so someone saying that they saw a man covered in blood would be basically worthless.

But their combat engines have been SOOOO bad in every game they do, why the hell would we want an even more combat-centric game that focuses on melee. You know every hit would lack that "weight" feeling behind it, leaving you wanting and unimpressed.

As a real life vampire, the worst weakness is Garlic, the sun is easy to avoid, between clothing options, sunscreen, keeping curtains closed, and wearing sunglasses. Crosses don't really do anything, that is just silly. But garlic... do you know how many foods, meals and restaurants have garlic in them? Or onions, onions are also deadly... ugh... and most none meats are kinda bad, some worse than others. But garlic and onions are in everything nowadays, and they can kill me. ;~;
Also sharp teeth are a bit of a worry, constantly chipping them as a child and the constant cuts and sores from cutting the inside of my mouth is horrible, so that is kinda a bad weakness.
In the modern era though we can get injections, a few years ago I would have had to have a blood transfusion once a week, but nowadays I can get an injection every 3 months instead.
Also Vampires aren't even infectious, that is a lie!
Hmm, hearing is also a weakness in a way... super sensitive hearing is horrible in such a noisy world, like the migraines the difficulty concentrating, it is all horrific, I literally find myself wishing I was deaf at times because it is horrendous, just so much noise, leaves me crying in agony more than I wish recollect. Also heat... the sun and bright light is kinda annoying... but heat is much harder to escape, air conditioning is rare in britain, but any temp above 15℃ is like the flaming pits of hell. Like aghhhhh. Why?!
Being a vampire has a few advantages though, like cold resistance, strength, endurance, being able to see in very low light, being able to hear really well, fast healing.
(I legitimately have a number of heath complications that basically make me a vampire as described above. Probably people like me that inspired the various myths in the first place. But yes garlic and onions are the most inconvenient weakness of the modern "vampire")

The whole "no reflection" bit is due to the fact that mirrors originally used to be backed by silver, which is why Vampires would not see a reflection in one. Any mirror without silver in it (most modern ones, for example), would show a vampire's reflection, no problem. Not that I'm speaking from experience...

David Stepanek yep theres an old tabletop system and supposedly an anniversary edition on the way at some point. Critical Role did a fun little 2 parter in it for Halloween last year.

This game looks like the Vampire: The Masquerade game I've been hoping for, or at least the closest thing to it. I have hoped for so long for a new vampventure.
Would a vampire leave fingerprints? If their skin doesn’t produce the same oils as a regular living person’s, then it would probably require some other kind of medium (ink, grease, or dare I say blood) in order to make the impression to stick to an object. I never considered forensic study in regards to vampiric physiology, but I would definitely go back to college for THAT course!
Not going to lie, I was interested in this game before, but watching this has made me all but decide for certain that I'm getting it when I head into town later today.....

Jane in vampire lore you have to drink the blood of a vampire, then you die and are reborn as a vampire. The only creature you become when bitten is a werewolf.

I know the extent of Vampiric powers and attributes are pretty fluid throughout popular culture but even the obviously Dracula influenced ones are still burned by sunlight when Dracula goes out in broad daylight on several occasions.

It's not WW, but has a lot of similarities. I laughed for a bit when it said "Aggravated damage" (a staple of all World of Darkness games)
Simple but fairly deep ability trees, seemingly intuitive combat, investigations and a bit of crafting.
It seems like I might enjoy this game.
Just my opinion, I thought the opposite. Boring ability trees, awkward combat/camera, crafting looks more like a chore that's not needed, and the world looks bland and uninteresting. I'll wait for a bundle of sale. You know Steam will have it with some Gothic bundle in 3 months.
