Tip to new Creators - Don't be afraid to create TEST tracks, but name them as such, and later on don't be afraid to delete old, test, or not-so-great tracks ;) Keep the pool of tracks as high quality as possible! Sometimes I'll even play them in pubs, go slow and watch lines that others take, see where they get hung up and the like, and use that play feedback to adjust and improve.

You don't need to set it to 1 lap when testing. No matter how many laps there is, you can press down and return to menu after completing 1 lap. That will register it being tested.

Thank you for #10!!! You are my savior! I've been making an off road stunt race and it was taking ages because I used to need to maneuver the whole course just to test one jump. The tunnel decoration idea is sick and I'm going to be using it for the more bland sections of my race as well as the soccer game idea for the landing zone. Keep it up!
4 years later. - You CAN leave the test after one lap and still save or publish. I used to switch the laps too and happened to leave a test one time to fix something I forgot and realized one lap secures the test completion.
Good tips, I hadn't figured out the inserting a checkpoint one yet so that should help. Currently I'm trying to work out setting primary and secondary checkpoints on my first race. My thing is I'm wondering if it can go from sections of single checkpoints to dual checkpoints, back to single, dual again, then finally back single. Yeah I know, confusing, should be awesome!

You do not have to set it to one lap in order to only test with one lab all you have to do is complete one lap and then exit the race Creator and it will automatically have registered it please do your homework before publishing a video

Instead of testing the race you can also press change view which will put you in a car

Even if you have it set to 100 laps you can complete 1 lap of the test then back out and the test will be valid

Hi. How do you disable traffic in Stunt races, you used to be able to in creator and in the race lobby you are unable to move it from default.

Definitely experiment it, split checkpoints can make for some pretty sick races. Good luck!

The first tip is wrong. You only need to test one lap, regardless of how many laps you set the default to.

When i make a race with 3 laps need i do 3 times the checkpoints? Or does rockstar creator that?
You only need to fill in the checkpoints for one lap
