    As I am becoming a " bit" advanced beginner, now I understand much better what you are explaining here. I keep training by myself listening to many different salsa music songs on CZcams and sometimes some music speed is very fast but I am getting accustomed to different speed variation. I really feel the importance of constant training. I am always grateful to you Robin for your professional and precious advice.

    I'm really pleased to have found your videos. Your explanations are so clear, concise and easy to understand. I'm just starting to put some basics to music for getting a feel about what the actual dancing will be like. Can you tell me why do the women all wear really high heels? Is there an advantage in wearing them? Thanks Robin.

    • @thedancedojo
      @thedancedojo  Před 3 lety

      Thanks so much Lisa, glad you found the channel and you're enjoying it :) I imagine the heels come from the fact Salsa and Hustle were dances originally done out at NY clubs, and so therefore everyone was dressed up nicely and the ladies were in heels. The follows that wear heels are also wearing dancing shoes (with suede bottoms so they can spin) they're not just any heels. And it's totally acceptable to dance in flats, so no worries :) -Robin

    Thanks Robin for this video, this is a really good complement of your last one! When you practice, you are using the same music but at different speeds, I presume you have a system (computer software) to increase the bpm of the songs or perhaps you use also some Spotify playlist ?

      Haha.. when I speak english I use my Canadian accent. When i speak spanish I use my Colombian accent. One usually adjusts for the language they're speaking otherwise it sounds kind of weird. this is just a silly comment.
