  • This is our Lang,GA866 and Honey jar Jujube trees. They grow like weeds in the desert and are one tree you need to grow if you want and abundance of sweet fruit each year.

    What time of year is the harvest? I have a Li and Lang (also in Arizona) and was considering a Contorted.
    I've seen other videos of people eating them green and they're crisp and tart more like an apple, would these work that way too?
    Awesome video!

      Usually September but you can get an early crop as well

    Awesome! I love your video! I have 2 Chinese "Li" Jujube trees, and they are both producing fruit, while still in the container! I plan to put them in the ground soon.

    Actually, GA866 has originated in Chico, California. GA doesn't stand for Georgia, but something like section G, row A or something similar.

      @@FruitTree No problem. There are other varieties from the same research station. GI1183 and GI762 (nicknamed Chico, after the place).

    Wow I love your backyard fruits trees. Thank you for sharing info. I did not know there are different type of varieties of jujube fruit trees. I have planted jujube tree 4 years ago in the east side yard and now it is 20 ft tall. But it never produce any fruits. What went wrong? It does not drop leaves in the winter and it has lots of thorn all over. I call it the vampire tree bc if you go near it, thorn pull your hair and clothing. If you get the thorn into your skin, it feels like scorpion sting, very painful. The more I cut down, the more it grew so fast, suckers every where. Perhaps you let me know when you prune your jujube tree, I want your cutting before you throw away. I think my jujube tree is call the wild jujube.

    Great videos. Can you tell me when the jujube trees come out of dormancy?

    • @FruitTree
      @FruitTree  Před 3 lety

      Its been diffrent for me every year. What I do notice is they are usually the first to loose all of their leaves a d the last to grow them back. One year they were so late I thought they had all died. That year they had amazing growth
