I just discovered this movie about 6 years ago by accident. Flipping through the channels and when I first watched it, I came into the part where they just arrived at Monty's house at night and instantly I was captured by this movie. There was just something about it. So many drunk/stoned nights I would watch Withnal and I over and over and over again on CZcams, it has become such a favorite, it's in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I've seen this movie about a million times and I've never gotten tired of it. Such an amazing incredible film! Rest in Peace Monty

I remember when I saw this film for the first time. Just went along to the theatre, had no idea what to expect, wasn't hoping for much, and then after 15 minutes it was, like, WHAT IS THIS? I was hooked, totally caught up in this strange world. A totally original, surprising, eccentric, weird film, with wonderful performances.

Richard E Grant, what a legend! He really put the flesh on the bones of Withnal. Should have had had a far bigger career. But still the best.
Met him last week at a Withnail screening at the Music Box in Chicago. He was polite but nonplussed at the number of people who wanted to tell him how great Hudson Hawk is.

Once the Beeb kicks out chibnall & Whittaker from Dr who..I'd suggest russell the davies hires paul & richard both to play the doctor in the tardis at the same time.. no companions ,for a couple years of adventures. Get the big finish writers, I'd watch that as long as it's not woke of course.
