I really enjoy these commentators. They talk about the technical aspects of gymnastics, they talk a little bit about the gymnasts as people, and they have a forgiving attitude when the gymnasts make mistakes. "Ah, she had a little wobble there" and "despite her mistakes, each element was good, she just doubted herself, but she's only sixteen and has a bright future ahead of her" I really like it.
And it's very calming to listen to. I might use this to relax and fall asleep to tonight lol
I really enjoy the bbc commentary
They talk positive about every gymnast, no matter what country they are from and they don't butcher the names of the gymnasts from non english speaking countries
Mai's reaction to realizing that she would make it on the podium still makes me cry and I've watched it about 5 times lol.
I prefer this British coverage to the American one. The British commentators seem more genuine and supportive of the gymnasts :) Not so critical.

I love how in the 09-12 quad, all the commentators were like "you have to have an Amanar to be competitive in the all around" , how times have changed
exactly, these days all arounders more focusing on cleanliness than difficulty when it comes to vault. I miss amanar in the AA finals tho..
I know Angelina is the designated classy Russian gymnast but the girl deserves cred for being the best tumbler they’ve (The Russian program) produced in a long time. I felt bad that she didn’t get a medal considering how much better her consistency has been.
I hopes she sticks around for a long time and gets the medal she deserves. And hopefully she can stay injury free too.
I like Nina but I felt it was ridiculous that she ranked above Angelina.

Angelina is not the classy Russian type, she was never clean and elegant as Komova, Pavlova, Afanasyeva, Mustaifna... she’s different.
And a yr later she’s AA bronze aswell as bronze on FX
actually they should just give simone platinum medals so the other gymnasts have chance for a gold lol because they are good as well just within human capacity but simone is something else
I think a titanium medal coated in platinum would be wonderful for the gymnast that tie for 3rd but lose the tie breaker. That is hard place to be because you are just as good as the other gymnast. It makes since have a medal made of the hardest useful medal there is and coated in the heaviest precious medal.
They should probably just start scouring outerspace for some new precious metals for Simone lol. Maybe start mining on Mars?

They really are outstanding...the only better commentator is Hans van Zetten but unfortunately for most, does it in Dutch. I feel lucky I can understand his commentary. So much technical expertise AND knowledge about the history of events & particular moves. He's the Dutch equivalent of the British commentators, and then some.
FIG is the best, but BBC is better than NBC

I’ve always loved how the female commentator has said “one flick, two flick, full testing double back” when commenting on Simone’s beam dismount. Says the same thing when she dismounted in Glasgow 2015 bean final.

bars, i understand. however, the beam is a bit darker than these mats, but i understand missing the bars.

BBC coverage is usually the best but I wonder why Matt Baker is not commentating on this year's WAG. He brings so much passion and emotion that makes BBC coverage special and Christine Still did not commentate the following 3 days of coverage as well. Hope they will return next year's competitions.

#BBC Biles: Gold Team, Gold All Around, Gold Vault, Silver Bars, Bronze Beam, Gold Floor. Yeah, everyone but Nina Derwael can outscore Simone on any event (Uneven Bars) on Simone"s good days. So everyone really needs to begin making their routines more difficult to try and attempt beating her...until she retires. & she did all that here with a Kidney Stone. Unbelievable.

rene ruiz not that stupid, Simone stopped training as well but came back to win six medals, Aliya only won one and it was the automatic team medal, no individual, it's all fact info. I'm not making up anything, people need to stop with the Aliya pregnant and baby info as well
rene ruiz yes I m really that dumb so I can say whatever I want, and if you're not dumb as well then you know I have already said in the past that I'm a fan of Aliya but people still talk her up too much so they diminish other gymnasts as well, glad she got a team medal otherwise it's nothing

I like Murakami performance though I think her floor score should of been a tenth or two lower. Oddly enough, I think Hurd’s floor should of been a tenth or two higher.
Mars Martin I think it was pretty fair. Mai had that large error on her spin but everything else was pretty secure. Morgan is of course great as well but she actually has some issues on dance elements that aren’t usually picked up at first but I’m sure the judges see, like lack of extension on her Ferrari. Plus, the downgrading of the third pass didn’t help much.The result was right in the end.

YES! I agree. Morgan should've won SILVER and Mai should've won BRONZE. Morgan is just a better gymnast, period!
@@girlSAVANT unfortunately Morgan was in 6th after her beam when she grabbed it after almost falling off. And catching back up to 2nd after the floor was pretty good. I bet she was happy getting the bronze.
I agree. I think Morgan was a bit underscored on bars and floor in the AA. I would’ve thought it would’ve been Simone 🥇, Morgan🥈, Mai 🥉

Top 3 from this worlds USA Russia China have qualified to Tokyo Olympics. First time that's ever been done so early.
Pretty interesting Asuka Teramoto had the highest score on vault, nina had the highest on bars, yile had the highest beam score, and simone highest floor. And her weakest event was where she scored her second highest score
man, simone can easily save that vault fall. but that shows how dominant she is✨

simone biles is so overscored... on Uneven Bars LUO Huan (at 27:54 ) did a beautiful flawless routine and recieved 8.4 in Execution. Meanwhile Simone had some visible errors and got 8.525! That is just so unfair

Hurd's beam was overscored. I think the bronze should've been Melnikova's tbh. She had high difficulty and no major mistakes.
Yeah, she had a ton of little ones instead. Stumbled out of the vault, form errors on bars, wobbled on the beam multiple times and missed multiple connections. The new CoP is really trying to focus on the E score, by systematically devaluing most things, and Melnikova doesn't quite execute her difficult elements the way she should. Morgan Hurd goes for the easier floor routine and beat Melnikova every time except quals, where she had some uncharacteristic errors.
(Let's not talk about how Biles wins on difficulty alone. If she hadn't fallen she would have won by 3.69 points, which is just nuts. She beat Aly Raisman by 2.1 points in Rio and neither one made a mistake.)

@@lonelyhorse5313 Morgan Hurd got the silver medal (13.933) in the floor event finals... Angelina Melnikova got 4th place (13.833) in the floor finals (even though I thought she deserved bronze)
Just becauase simone is powerful doesnt mean that she is not artistic....
@Lanni W Except when you're actually not artistic. Elena Shushunova; Camelia Voinea; Kim Zmeskal; Dominique Dawes; Elena Produnova; Daiane Dos Santos; Daniele Hypolito; Cheng Fei (2004) were all powerful gymnasts, but also took the artistic aspects of their routines into great consideration. They weren't balletic, nor were the majority of them built that way, but still they managed to combine power with artistry in an undeniable way.
Biles and her coaches have access to all of their routines and should have studied their styles for inspiration whilst developing her own. But instead they chose to settle with generic filler, consequently earning her the criticism she receives.

Kyla Ross did too. But Simone hasn't lost an AA competition since 2013

Denise Higginson they made absolutely no sense and as a black woman watching the BEST gymnast who is also a black woman I was quite offended by most of the commentators
@@xojorgettexo3776 It's called artistic gymnastics hence the artistic aspect of gymnastics its not just the strength and power part. Not sure, how one can assume its a comment made against Biles, plus there are some athlete that are just more flexible and taller and hance its appears graceful and doesn't come off as powerful or strong. It is just body types, and nothing more then that.
And if all you see is color and not the athlete then there something wrong with your perspective.

Ugh I hate how they ONLY medal to third and make it sound like A) Like if you "only" get SILVER, they always try to make it out to sound like they "JUST missed out on GOLD!" as if whoever it is ISNT GOING TO BE SATISFIED with silver & will "regret some stupid little thing their WHOLE LIFE!" Because maybe they could have gotten gold blah blah. As if SILVER is LITERALLY the "award" you get for being the "first LOSER!" & then b) as if coming in 4th is the OTHER absolute WORST final placing possible!!! Dude, u made it to this level, this competition, & u best out X other people and ONLY 3 ppl in the WHOLE WORLD did better than you! THATS AMAZING!!!
I hate all the negativity surrounding the final scoring and medals... The whole stigma makes for a lot of very depressing, extemely disappointed athletes who should be IMMENSELY proud of their finish, not upset!!!!

Elegance is what the women's sport was built on and what popularised it to the degree it reached even without the internet/social-media/CZcams etc. So rightfully elegance should always be prized.
These commentators are rude and bitter let Simone be great and stop pick out every teeny tiny mistake she makes because she black American and the best you’ll ever see at gymnastics in this life time! Whites Europeans can be so jealous and envious it’s disgusting
They're pointing out Simone's mistakes because that's what they are...mistakes. It's not because she's American or Black. They commentate on everyone whether mistakes or not. They also equally praise Simone when she does great. You need to rethink about your baseless comment about envy and race.
