That was on three outings; 2, 19 and 11. I fished from the turn around to north a few hundred feet. I did best about an hour before high tide, with high tide occurring 2 hours after sunset.
I LOVE YOUR SHOW....YOU SHARE A LOT OF INFO TO THE LISTENERS THAT NEVER TRIED CRABBING BECAUSE OF YES...FEAR OF NOT KNOWING WHAT TO DO...THANK YOU SO MUCH......GOD BLESS
Hello PK, I really enjoy your videos. You do such a great job making them. I live down in South Texas near the coast and used to crab a lot as a young boy. Thanks for sharing.
Nice catch! Our record came out of Bandon. Four people, 8 pots and 96 legal crabs in one pull. We had to release four limits of legal crabs. The crabs were absolute giants too. State Police was checking boats at the dock. They measured a couple then said, "No reason to measure those". I said "those are the small ones" and opened the second ice chest with the largest crabs in it. They just laughed.
Just discovered your videos after I bought a boat and the guy gave me a couple free crab traps. I've never been but it looks so fun! Thanks for these great videos, definitely will be binging on them the next few days! Tight Lines!
Great video as always PK. Really enjoy how informative you are during the videos, most crabbing vids I have seen they only show pots with music in the background. Keep up the great work
I'm from Boston I got sick and had to leave I have not had a dungeness crab I'n 30 years I miss them so much there 2 much money to buy so I watch every episode of dungeness crabs with my mouth watering and remembering the great tast
I find your videos very addicting in the way that I just can't stop watching once I begin. I hope some day I can go to Oregon and have you take me to that process. Thank you for all your videos.!
PK Yi Love how you respect the limit and size laws. if everyone did that there'd be enough nice crab outings for everyone. Please keep up the good work. Love your vids
It is honestly such a great example with how he makes a point to measure his catches on video. He makes it clear that he doesn't advocate for anything but respectful environmentally friendly outdoorsmanship.
I grew up on long island sound.. had a residential license for lobsters.. caught over a thousand when I was on my whaler.. had an assination kit.. s.s.snips. tiny fork and a dental pick . Could tear on down completely in 45 seconds.. this is the best fishing crabbing cooking video I have ever seen.. always carry olive oil Tony chachers ..which I think was in a form..butter and lemon and a fun attitude.. awesome video.. I thank you again.. awesome..🏝️🏖️😀😎
When I used to do commercial blue crabs in TX, when pulling traps I would spin the boat in a circle. This way you are only pulling against the center of the circle instead of against the boat and current. We hand pulled about 200 per day this way.
WOW... a full pot of dungeness in only 1 hour..!! and cooking them right in the parking lot of the harbor in your boat..YUMMMMMYYY The 49er hat told me to watch this video..!
Its 5am Fathers day 2020 and I'm starving for crab.now.i like the tutorial on setting up the traps and the little tips he give.i also learned steaming/boiling crabs don't have to be done with water only.gr e at video
Those crabs most be pretty docile. Pull a blue crab out of a pot here in N.C. and it’s claws up and snapping ready for a fight. Like trying to to wrestle a pissed off ninja! Awesome video, would love to fish in Oregon.
Great vid, down here on the gulf coast we just add a couple of teaspoons of zataran's crab boil to a pot of boiling water. Throw in some potato's and corn on the cob.
Woohoo, it’s almost September. Can’t wait to go crabbing with the fam. We’ve never crabbed in Coos Bay, looks like we need to check out some more spots further south. We always crab in the Tillamook Bay.
I so love your channel. We are gonna be at the coast there this comming spring if my mom has her way... or fall if i get mine.. (lol) love to go crabbing with you.
Lived in Coos Bay for 20 years, mostly in Charleston/Empire area. I was a commercial fisherman on big trawlers (nets), catching bottom fish, shrimp, and occasionally tuna (with hooks/lines). Never crabbed from a boat in the bay. I always just sat at the end of the docks and tossed crab rings. Almost always caught legal ones. It just takes time, so bring a 12-pack. It used to be legal to crab off Oregon docks without a license. Don’t think that’s true anymore. Furthermore, I always thought you’d have to leave the bay (cross the bar) to catch rockfish!
Maybe a two year old vid, but sheeze! this one was worth every sec of viewing. As a east coast guy im actually jealous of west coast crabbing. Its funny, we have our great lobsters but the west coast has their great crabs.
Here in Maryland people could fish for an entire day and not catch as many crabs as you did with your two pots in two pick ups! Wow! The crabbing in Oregon is unbelievable!
Great vid! Impressed with your ability to handle Dungeness so easily. Your information was great & I learned about the weighted rope for the first time (Where Have I been)? Been crabbing since 1973 in Newport and abroad the Oregon coast mainly Tillamook, Waldport. Thanks for sharing your info! "Subscribed"!
It would be great if you'd put a Go Pro type cam inside your Promar pot. It's fun to see what all goes on while it soaks. I have a propane turkey cooker and throw in one McCormick crab boil bag into boiling water. Tastes like Louisiana crab boil.
i used to boil crab all the time but have switched to using a tiered steamer which keeps the crab out of the water during cooking, i find it keeps more flavor in the crab and it has a better texture, doesn't get mushy. my steamer has 2 trays and is big enough to cook 2 limits at once, which is pretty cool for beach parties. even though the crab isn't in the water if you add old bay seasoning the flavor still permeates the crab as well as if it was boiled in it. the steamer is also great for melting the butter.
OMG everytime i watch this video i get sooooo hungry... yummmmmm the sound of the crunching lol
I like to see when they catch n clean and eat video , gets me all excited, reminds me of my younger days in Miami , great job craving.
Thank you for all of your videos it's very enjoyable watching! Thanks again for everything
I was just at Seaside and was able to catch around 30 perch over a few trips using your method. Thank you for teaching it to me.
30?? Wow, nice haul!
what part of seaside?
That was on three outings; 2, 19 and 11. I fished from the turn around to north a few hundred feet. I did best about an hour before high tide, with high tide occurring 2 hours after sunset.

When you take your boat out to sea, it reminds me of the Gilligan's Island theme song as you're driving away from the harbor, LOL.
Great vid, down here on the gulf coast we just add a couple of teaspoons of zataran's crab boil to a pot of boiling water. Throw in some potato's and corn on the cob.

Crab from the uk is not the same. I’d love to go to Oregon to do a catch and cook. Definitely on my bucket list.
