One thing I noticed while editing this that I missed in my original reaction is the scene at 32:55 is the reverse of the scene when they were kids, with Blitzo throwing the full sack of stolen things off the balcony to his dad and this time throwing the full sack of sex toys back up to Stolas, literally bringing the book back to him in the same way.
As well as at 39:41, Blitzo is making the pose that Stolas does in Season 2 Episode 1 when he walks into his bedroom with Blitzo and says he knows Blitzo is there to ravish him.
The parallels to episode S2E1 are fantastic.
The credits without music fucked me up too 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Millie is the definition of a glass cannon. Fragile but extremely deadly.
All this is necessary so that we do not understand anything about what will happen at the end of the season. Almost everything from here was in the trailer. A lot will happen before the end of the season.
But seriously, most likely a lot of things have not yet been drawn to be included in the trailer.
I also like the cherub theme. Very suitable for those who watched Hazbin, that is, almost everyone

There are still a decent number of Stolas/Blitzo scenes from the trailer that are not in this episode but other than that and a few things from the Ghostfuckers episode, everything else is going to be completely spoiler free.

I was holding it together pretty well until Stolas says that.
Very much how I expected it to go, but that doesn't make it hurt any less 😭 Stolas pours his heart out so bravely, and Blitzo - well, we've spent a season and a half learning his particular dysfunctional emotional language, and this is him caring a lot! The shock and distress on his face when Stolas doesn't want the sex, and when he says "you don't have to stay here with me". He was begging to keep the book deal, but moments later he's holding a much better alternative (a princely gift, literally) and he doesn't want it.
It's no surprise he retreats into treating it as a joke, and then into angry lashing out. Stolas doesn't _know_ this is is typical Blitzo behavior, he can't let it roll off him like Moxxie does. He doesn't know that Blitzo running after him demanding a fight means "I don't want to let this end". And after all these months Blitzo _still_ hasn't figured out that Stolas is hurt by cruel words and takes what he says seriously. What a clusterfuck.
I don't know if this can be fixed by the end of this season, or if it should be :( It sure looks like Blitzo is defending Stolas from Andrealphus in the trailer, so they'll probably be on better terms after that, but will it be enough? A lot of fans seem to be predicting a rebound relationship between Stolas and the not-yet-introduced Vassago.
I've seen a lot of people also saying they think Vassago is going to be with Stolas for a little bit and Imma be honest...personally I absolutely hate that trope and I don't want to see it haha
The "The obvious couple breaks up and one or both date other people for a little bit" trope because you know they're going to end up back together by the end. I don't want them to rush the resolution but that can be done without them finding another partner.
Also Stolas being in love with Blitzo for so long, them breaking up, and then immediately getting together with someone else is really not a healthy thing.
we are on the same wavelength, my dude! Both Blitz and stolas's trauma responses were triggered in this episode. Blitz lashed out. Stolas shut down. it was so sad. Also, you're 35? me too! lol great reaction!

It occurs to me that Loona has a dang sight of blame here. Not all but she was EXTREMELY unhelpful right there.
Stolas neglected his meds prescriptions, (NEVER DO THIS!!), AND Blitz and Stolas are talking past each other...

I do for sure think Loona gave Blitzo advice that ultimately was true (That Stolas wanted "out" of their current situation) but lacked all the context to understand why.
That face of realization! Blitz showed it before when Stolas got hurt physically. And now he reacts the same way after realizing he hurt Stolas emotionally.
Also yeah, the covering up broke me. Who knew Stolas has been doing the exact same thing as Blitz out of lacking self worth. Its concerning and shows they really need eachother. Eventually...but not for a while.
I think you give Stella too much credit xD She's a dumb goose. I think it's her brother Andrealphus we have to worry about because he actually has brains.
Oh yeah for sure but her brother will end up doing it through Stella.
Keep in mind this is almost 2 years after (September 29,2022) season1 ep4 (December 2020) extermination day could very well have been abolished by now in universe.
Meaning the cherubs could start an actual war between heaven and hell over their petty vengeance. after everything else that could have sparked a war before then had long since become non factors. (For the 3 V and lute that means permadead)
@@matthewsimmons9277 It would be nice to get some kind of timeline confirmation. I dont think the show itself will ever do it, but Vivienne loves to comment random little things on Twitter and elsewhere, so I'd be interested in seeing where the chronology of both shows current are at.
ALTHOUGH! I will say we see Stolas still with the bandage from when he was hurt by Striker so at least in Season 2, not that much time has passed.
There was an irl full moon September 10th 2022 this can’t be July full moon as that was before Fizzarolli quitting mammon, which was the July tour date on the mammon shirt. It is undeniably 2022 specifically a year since harvest moon festival. Which was September 10th to 11th 2021. s1 ep4 of HB was in December 2020.
