Since this map is much smaller than previous entries and pretty much only one major location, we decided to do a no-fast travel run for fun. So we left a lot of the traversing around the city in the video. If you want a more streamlined cut, this check out the game movie here!
• ASSASSIN'S CREED MIRAG...
In the age of the Abbasid Caliphate, Basim Ibn Ishaq is a young street thief living in the city of Anbar with his friend Nehal. For all of his life, Basim has been haunted by visions of a monstrous jinni, which Nehal had been helping him cope with. While just a simple thief, Basim has greater aspirations and attempts to join the Hidden Ones, but is flatly rejected by the senior Hidden One stationed in Anbar, Roshan. In an effort to prove himself, Basim sneaks into the Caliph's palace to steal a chest that both the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients are seeking. He manages to open the chest to find a disk-like artifact, which activates upon his touch and gives him a brief vision before being interrupted by the Caliph. Nehal kills the Caliph to save Basim and they both flee the palace. The palace guards then begin slaughtering all of the known thieves in Anbar, many of which were Basim's friends, and he blames Nehal before parting ways. Now on the run, Basim manages to escape the city with Roshan's help, and she takes him to the Hidden Ones' mountain fortress at Alamut.

When I looked back at the assassin's outfit, I remembered Ezio and Altair, the two games with the best storylines. 😢

Something i can appreciate is Basim's eyes, like in a dream state not fully awake but searching and questioning.
This game isn't the best compared to Vahalla but better than Ragnarok's staight up hack and slash.
I think if there was at least one close friend for Basim to bounce his character growth off of which would be a great contrast to Nehal it would have better impact.
Wong and that Guy pimping Basim for work are too shallow.
Imagine if the game was like assassin creed rogue if u became a templer turned assassin or vise versa now that would be interesting

I already pre ordered this game like a month or two ago, and I managed to complete the story in a day and a half within like 7 to 8 hours. Already my most favorite game in the whole franchise.

@@creepermineh Black Flag and revelations are great games too. Personally, I like the smooth controls and fast paced combat in mirage. Black Flag will be my second favorite in the franchise behind mirage for have a huge world and amazing collectibles.

No. Not unless you have a separate save somewhere. Otherwise it's only one playthrough during a single campaign.

Beautiful score, stunning locale! To see Old Iraq in its full glory is something! I'm not a native Arabic speaker, but the Arabic being spoken in the background sounds like news broadcast-style Modern Standard Arabic, which is anachronistic, not to mention unnatural. Pronunciation of certain Arabic words in the English dialogue also doesn't stay consistent. I hope the Arabic dub is good. Localisation is a nuanced business.
I am not a native Arabic speaker as well. I am learning it right now (Fusha and the Iraqi and Syrian dialects; may God teach me). I’ll have to study the history again but I heard that Fusha (Formal/Eloquent Arabic) was the language spoken and used from the 7th and 9th centuries and even onwards. When it comes to Arabic, westerners have a tendency to try to categorize and organize things into unnecessary divisions, such as Classical Arabic, Quranic Arabic, Standard Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, etc, but to Arabic speakers, it’s all just Fusha (Formal/Eloquent Arabic). During the Umayyad, Abbasid, and general medieval periods, Fusha was the main spoken language. Today, since news, media, science, etc, use Fusha, I think Fusha is probably the closest estimate to what Arabic sounded like during the time period of this game compared to other varieties of Arabic. Maybe Northern Iraqi dialect might come close but I think the MSA-style is closest to how Arabic would have sounded like in this time period. If the developers really thought that through, kudos to them, but if they used Fusha on accident, it’s a happy accident lOl.

Of the AC games in their entirety so ofc I’m gonna get this one but what I can say is the player experience isn’t really up to par I really don’t like how the player is playing the game. I go for brute / war monger kind of builds each time. Need to see more of that or I’ll just get the game lol

I disagree. This is best ac game since rogue. Way better than orgins, odyssey, valhalla. No huge empty open world with cookie cutter activities, no tedious leveling system, better stealth and an actual good main antagonist. Great environments for parkour even though basim could be faster). Genuinely feels like an old ac game. I'm playing it after finishing unity and it's way less frustrating and more polished. Still lacks chain assassination/combos. I give it 8/10. Origins is like a 7. Origins was good but way too many unnecessary things cluttering it. You don't have to be impressed to enjoy a game.
