Queen - Save Me - 1980-07-05 - Live in San Diego, CA, US (Sports Arena)

For a long time, the recording of the concert in Oakland was considered the best version of "Save Me" from the Game Tour. That might have changed when this recording from San Diego surfaced in 2021. Freddie sings the two verses in a fantastically soft tone, very close to the record version. The first chorus has two great A4 sustains. The 2nd chorus is also great and Freddie hits the studio slide perfectly. The instrumentation in this version is also good. Brian gets his first solo right. The bridge is great, followed by another flawless solo. The final chorus is incredible as Freddie nails both B4s. This ending is very powerful.
