I was last in Harper's Ferry in late July 1977. The station still had an around the clock operator on duty. Amtrak's F40s were new. A couple of trains had WM F7's in the consists. And auto rack after auto rack had Chevy Chevettes in them, back in the days before the cars were enclosed. Our family had a Kodak "Instamatic" camera that used the 110-film cartridge. How I would like to go back in time with my iPhone and take some pictures! Except I wouldn't put it on a tri-pod that close to the tracks...
What you missed was the dark sarcasm. PS don't try this camera setup at the St. Martin's beach by the airstrip. That' definitely RIP for any mounted camera.
@PhilBell said... Hi Paul! The engine, CSXT 3272, is a 2015-built ET44AH (CSX's term for an ET44AC, which has been ballasted for extra weight, coupled with a variety of software adjustments over the stock model). These were built by General Electric to conform with EPA's Tier IV regulations and generate just under 4,400hp. They were manufactured in both Erie, PA and Ft. Worth, TX. Most of GE's locomotive production took place at the Erie, PA facility, though General Motors (when it owned Electro-Motive Division) did a substantial amount of locomotive manufacturing at the General Motors Diesel plant in London, ON, which also manufactured buses. Another large Canadian locomotive builder was Montreal Locomotive Works, which was a Canadian-based manufacturer of American Locomotive Company (ALCO) designs north of the border. You can find plenty of MLW-built locomotives across the US today, and the company was later acquired by Bombardier (perhaps better known for its snowmobiles and airplanes) who built both freight locomotives and the LRC passenger units. And thanks for reminding me: I need to get back to Harper's Ferry!
Only thing I saw was a camera tripod getting blown over. Been better if the tripod had been on the tracks and hit by the train. So it is NOT a train disaster as the caption indicates.
Been there many a time with idiots standing that close to the tracks and get slapped by trains. Then they complain that no one told them the trains came that close.
Strangely enough, the exact same thing happened to me. Even weirder, I was also filming a CSX! I think the lesson for both of us is to not let go of unanchored tripods.
Shreesh, today's tripods. If this was 1990, and you were filming with one of those AFHV with the late Bob Saget, camcorders. Would have that tripod fallen backward due to the motion of the train? 😄
No, you were not honest, it’s called bamboozling. :) Contextually you implied a disaster occurred and your phone survived through that disaster. But, in your world, if that logic is applicable, you get to define your boundaries. By main stream logic, Nice try :)
Equally funny is how some people don't understand the humor of it. Thanks for sharing.
The phone was so scared that it fainted!
The camera fainted as the diesel behemoth came forth!
COOL!!!
Looks like it made a strong windy force.
41 seconds of my life I will never get back
...plus the time it took you to come up with and type your witty comment. I had a few extra minutes, of my time, to comment-haha
Train disaster I think that was a camera disaster.
I gave it a thumbs down 👎
I was mad for about 4 seconds, then I busted out laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This cracked me up! Best click bait title I've seen in a long time!
What in the hell is this
LMAO! That was funnny...
You need a camera that won't fold under pressure
The phone is now in ICU and will probably survive.
My iphone 12 mini is a very tough cookie. I like it better than my wife's iphone pro 14
😱OH, the humanity. Surprised I could watch without parental warning. Where are YT standards
IKR???
😅🤣😂
some how it feels like this might be the 21st century Rick Rolled...... if so, hilarious!
Never gonna give you up!
@@TheMotleyPatriot yeah exactly LOL
I felt like one of those fainting goats

I laughed way too much at this 🤣
Well that was dumb.
Well, that's an entire minute of my life I wont get back. 😮

I bet it would not survive if you put the phone on the tracks. LOL
Wasn't a train accident.
Very Funny (Ha Ha Ha)😆😆😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s telling how carnage is what is assumed when the only thing damaged was a cellphone cover folks complaining…
@@TheMotleyPatriot TBH you did set the expectation that something devastating was going to happen. 😅
@@buddycheck84 were we disappointed?
Finally! Click bait worth clicking on! It was pretty funny how the tripod just sorta ‘gave up’ and fainted. Poor little guy!
John Brown would like to compare disaster at Harpers Ferry
Okay , that was a lie ,no disaster I could see.
Are you joking? One of the greatest shots ever was ruined.
Das Video ist ein disaster
sie hat es recht
Did I miss the "disaster" part? Looked to me like the camera fell over. Not quite what I would call a disaster.
The heavy tripod and phone shouldn't have fallen but the air displacement was substantial! Stay away from trains!!!
What you missed was the dark sarcasm. PS don't try this camera setup at the St. Martin's beach by the airstrip. That' definitely RIP for any mounted camera.
When I push thumbs down it should subtract from thumbs up
I think the camera just fainted from the excitement of seeing a train passing by.😂
Some of you people are getting to close, with your equipment, the railroads will start cracking down, be smart.
I hate click bait but I gotta admit this one made me snicker. 😁
Tsk thats more like canera Disaster ,Your camera and tripod was too close .
This is what you do when you're not capable of the lowest of jobs.
What a coincidence that you were just there! 😅

Rookie.....
"Train disaster". Clickbait. That's what you get for putting a device on close to tracks kid.
It was on the pedestrian platform
@@TheMotleyPatriot rip
Did I miss something???
yes
the disaster was the photog failing high school physics and being stupid about it.
Now, you do want new subs, correct?
Been there many a time with idiots standing that close to the tracks and get slapped by trains. Then they complain that no one told them the trains came that close.
I hope nobody was hurt. 😅😢
Your understanding of disasters is disastrous for sure
That’s horrible, oh my gosh who’s going to pay for that camera!
Strangely enough, the exact same thing happened to me. Even weirder, I was also filming a CSX! I think the lesson for both of us is to not let go of unanchored tripods.
That train bridge behind the camera actually caught on fire just recently!
@TheMotleyPatriot Yeah, I saw the videos. I'm glad it hasn't collapsed... yet

Shreesh, today's tripods. If this was 1990, and you were filming with one of those AFHV with the late Bob Saget, camcorders. Would have that tripod fallen backward due to the motion of the train? 😄
Exactly. The tripod was decent enough but the gust was substantial
Sandbag the tripod!
A tad close to the tracks me thinks
Catfished again!
that disaster was disastrous!
OH THAT POOR PHONE !
😂😂😂😂No train disaster
just a wee bit close...and I went to Harpers Ferry Junior High....a long time ago....

That was hilarious
Misleading title.
It was breaking news on Fox tonite ;-)
Timmmm-berrrrrrrrrr!!!!
Total clickbait!!! It was suspenseful though.
I was honest in the title, camera phone survives. I think it shows how everyone is hoping for carnage lol

Must work for cnn, after all who can ignore a train wreck better!
CHOO CHOO ... CHOO CHOO CH-BOOGIE !

Horrific.
Did the train take any damage from the camera?
It's possible the conductor was triggered...
I generally click thumbs down on click bait videos BUT I'll let this one sssssssssliiiiide......
