    I love how easy this is! I made a substitution or two though. Instead of the Italian seasoning, I added onion powder, dried California lemon peel, cumin, cinnamon, paprika and a spritz of cayenne.

    Before shredding it I put the whole roast in pot with hot oil and crisp it up...then shred it.

    Kristen my wife loved it. She doesn't like pulled pork, but I cut it up chunky like you. Great flavor she said. Lots of leftovers. Great channel.

    I appreciate the simple ingredients, I just started the carnitas in my instant pot, the mix smells amazing, however I did add a touch of cumin powder. Thanks for the recipe.

    Thank for this video and also for the use of pork tenderloin to lower the fat. These look sooooo good and I want to try the dressing you suggested too. Looks yummy..... And thanks for opportunity to win instant pots. My sister does not have one and would love it so much. Claudia

    Ok totally NOT carnitas I would definitely add fresh squeezed Orange juice and bit of Coca Cola for sweetness and maybe try sautéing it with a bit of lard after it’s cooked. My opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️ coming from the Mexico town that originated carnitas.

    I've bought an instant pot after watching your video.
    I've just a question... On the instant pot website we can read that the lid is dishwasher safe.
    But (after all the time you use it) did you use the dishwasher for your instant pot lid ?

    ok I'm a bit confused, why would you use Italian seasoning in a Mexican dish??? and No Oregano?? No orange juice. ?? just asking .. I have an InstaPot still in the box (which I have had for months) looking for good recipes..

    • @capemaxi
      @capemaxi Před 5 lety +1

      Linda Hernandez , I use Italian seasoning along with Mrs. dash on about everything so I don't have to use much or any salt--as per My doctor's instructions. Use of Italian Seasoning isn't a nationality thing is it? Herbs Provinal has lavender in it, which changes the taste. Use of orange juice sounds great.

      Maxilyn Capell No Max I don’t think its a cultural thing. I’m thinking certain dishes require specific seasonings. I understand about the salt as I have to be careful too. I usually use accent and different powders like garlic powder onion powder etc. anything non salted.
      So I’m just learning to use my instapot so I’m interested in everything🤓🤓

    I made this recipe today and followed it to a T. The outside of the pork loin was tender but the middle was very tough. I made this in an 8qt instant pot. I have heard to only do natural release when cooking meat is there any truth to that?

  • @adriandoyle7845

  • @thaliar7866
    @thaliar7866 Před 5 lety +16

    Good Carnitas should fall apart and not need that much shredding. You are also missing the orange juice. The meat should be cooked in liquid so it comes out juicy, not dry.
    I hope this taken as educational or constructive criticism and not insulting. So many restaurants serve dry carnitas and once you have it cooked right you just can’t eat that dry stuff. 😜

    There's no "love" in your treatment of the food.. I find you enjoyable on some levels.. But most of thid is just marketing 101.... There is just no LOVE involved in your approach towards the food and the pallet... I hope you do well and continue but I really wish the recipes were not so "lazy"... If you can succeed off NOT loving what your doing ...this is it.. This is about making videos and pushing books not LOVE of food
