Recently subscribed. Been in the market to move to a Android unit and was lost with the amount of options out there. Been binge watching your videos and must say, they are the BEST, hands down! I was narrowed down to either the Atoto, Xtronz or Joying, and found this video for the UA12S and decided to go with the 6gb version. Actual Android 12, adjustable screeen, 2.5V preouts (which the ithers for sub preout are way to low at 0.8v)... Thanks for all the videos and information! Very informative, and straight to the point!
Have you or anyone else actually measured the preouts? Are they ACTUALLY 2.5 volts without clipping?

SO I have a little tip that may be helpful to some. I install a lot of CCTV and have a couple of cat5 baluans that will do CVI or AHD over cat5/6 cable. If you can terminate your own RJ45 ends it is so much easier to run a single cat5 in a hatch boot and also my extension was about 10' to short so the Cat 6 and a baluan on each end wa my test to fix that today. In my case I needed a RCA coupler to connect to the male ends on the balaun. Carries 12V power and vifeo over one Cat cable. Maybe $10 on amazon? Bought awhile ago.

@@John-ot6ue it's been mostly great! It seems to have some issues with any apps that make use of Picture-in-Picture mode, but disabling that feature has it happy enough. Otherwise it's been perfect. Installed it myself and have it fully integrated into the existing antenna, wheel controls, USB port and reversing camera. Very happy with the result.

Looks good. I got the Android 10 Mazda unit last year, and it's been going well. I did consider the lift-out 10" but I was worried about glare and at the time, the 'older' model had more working accessories like the reverse/dash camera. Never got the dashcam to work (didn't know what app to use) , but everything else did.

What are your thoughts on Android head units and the CarPlay disconnect problem (random disconnects that require you to manually reconnect, reboot the phone and/or head unit etc.)? Have you found wired to be more reliable than wireless? This unit seems to be wireless carplay only how does it compare to others in terms of the disconnect issue?

Great video in fact i purchased one along with the front dash cam and rear camera. Question regarding the quick boot up though. It does quick boot if just going to acc mode but if you start the car it just reboots every time my old Android head unit didn't do this?

Bought this unit and installed in my Toyota Sienna 2016 XLE. Everything works great (OEM reverse camera (had to use a 12v to 6 volt step down converter), steering wheel controls, and OEM aux input (connected to the car's DVD player)). However, the HDMI port is faulty and will not output an image correctly on my car's second row DVD player. It flips between briefly showing the image on the head unit, flickering, then showing no input. The HDMI in on the DVD player works with other devices such as laptops and portable game consoles, so the DVD player isn't the issue. Contacted customer support and they said request a replacement. Installed the replacement unit and had the exact same issue. Support then suggested the HDMI port was not compatible. Why put an HDMI out on the unit if it doesn't work? Any ideas on how to get the HDMI to work correctly in US Central region?
Looking at busting this. But the eBay one I'm looking at doesn't come with wiring loom. Have to get it from another supplier. But it appears yours came with it.

Steering wheel controls, my friend. That's what I (and most) seem to prefer to use in 2023. Don't need to take my eyes off the road or my hands off the steering wheel.
So after watching tons of your videos and finally deciding to pull the trigger and get this exact unit I have one question of you or your community. I would like to retain the factory controls and not cut up my harness. I am between these two aftermarket adapters and I was hoping you might have some insight or guidance as to which might be best for me. The two are iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module and the
PAC RP4-CH11 Wiring Interface. Any help would be great.

Only downside for me, not Eonon issue, DAB+ doesn't work with android12😢 I have to use dab-z but I don't like the layout

I got a UA12S Plus and it only lasted 4 months. It suffered the black screen of death after initial Reboot. I've tried erasing back to factory defaults and still same problem. Other people have experthe same problem

Installed it last week, and i'm pretty impressed
by the sound and overall build quality. It fits and
sound perfect in my Audi A4 B7 2006 convertible.
I'm struggling a little bit though with my Apple Carplay
connection - it comes on-and-off trying to reconnect
to the Iphone while driving.
I must say that i am still missing to install
the 2x 4G antennas and GPS antenna, so that might
help on this?

How is the reliability on this unit? There are several negative reviews (26% of the ratings are 1 Star ratings), on Amazon about the display going black after a couple months,
I have used ATOTO units and have not had issues.
I don’t mind similar looking displays to fit a standard fascia, but why can’t they make some with buttons on the right to suit RHD vehicles?

12 months ago Eonon were dumping all thier older head units on Amazon for $199, 10.1" units with Car Play etc
Now our only choice is this big dollar unit

Question to the host or anyone else who has this unit. I have the unit and having issues with backup camera. This is not my first eonon product had the R03 and that was sweet but upgraded to this unit. Most screen units have a trigger wire that requires some type of voltage to let the HU know switch to camera input. This unit has a trigger wire on the main harness and also has a seprate wire loom/connector for the "camera, 12v for camera, brake wire, ground" all in one plug...
So i installed the HU and connected the backup signal wire aka 12v to the trigger wire like i have done for every other HU in the past. But this HU doesnt switch to the camera..... i got 12v i can see it on my meter. Tried to put the signal wire on the "extra" 12v camera wire and nada! Does anyone know or have any idea where am i going wrong on this install? Thanks in advance
Bought this headunit based off this review, has been working great. I noticed when you connected to Android Auto / Apple CarPlay your sidebar was on the right hand side, mine is on the left. How do you change the position of the sidebar for RHD vehicles?

Hello, I have this unit and last week the touch screen stopped working, I checked the connections, reset to factory settings and no luck. Getting in touch with Eonon has been a pain, because of the time zone difference. Do You have any ideas of what can I do?

That makes no sense at all. The head unit has rear channels via it's built in amplifier, and via the RCA preouts

This Eonon unit looks identical to the Hizpo unit, very confusing with so many different brands selling what appears to be identical hardware.
They are far from identical. The form factor is the same because this is the standard for plug and play installs, they fit into custom dashboard trims
@@SaabUnleashed Well, more than the form factor, its pretty clear the different manufacturers are purchasing the screens from the same factory with this screen being around a couple years. They can certainly put different "guts" inside the unit, which in fact each brand usually offers various configurations. The Hizpo S8 for example is using a UIS 79625 Octa 2.0Ghz 8GB Ram/128GB rom for two hundred bucks from aliexpress which isn't bad. Although I'd probably do Amazon or Ebay or someone that has free returns, because you really have to run CPU-Z and other tools on these upon receipt to verify that the specs match what is advertised. The common spoof seems to be the Android OS, most say they are running 12 or 13 but are really have API levels matching older versions of Android.
@@SaabUnleashed Well, more than form factor, I mean it seems they are sharing from the same parts bin, as the screen at least appears identical. The Hizpo S8 is 8GB ram 128GB ROM but uses the UIS7862S 12nm 2.0Ghz processor instead of the Snapdragon 665 11nm 2.0 Ghz processor. Benchmarks show the 665 is faster, but not by a huge amount, not sure how noticeable that would really be.

Hi, I was very impressed by this review and bought the player for my RV. During firmware update, the car shut down due to low power. That bricked my unit. Does anybody know how to reset the unit back to previous firmware?
You will have no firmware if it is bricked, it's a worst case scenario. Best thing to do is contact their support

I have the older model of this eonon head unit in my e92 bmw. Question is, being that it only has 2gb ram 32 storage would using the 6225 carlinkit ai tbox with 8gb ram 128 storage make it a better experience? It's painfully slow and unresponsive at times. I figured instead of installing a new head unit, just buy the tbox lol idk.. It'll be delivered tomorrow either way.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! AND THANK YOU for this video review. I've been searching for a replacement audio system in my 2023 Toyota Tacoma that I can't stand. I want a somewhat floating screen and the ability to use Android apps built into the unit when my iPhone isn't connected for CarPlay. I kept going back and forth between Tesla style and the Boss. I ended up with Boss and hate it. Boss outputs great sound but has no apps installed and can only use either Android or CarPlay, depending on which phone is connected. I have two cameras hooked up, the factory backup, and added a front. This system you just reviewed seems to fit the bill.
So, am I correct in understanding that you can use any of the Android apps without an Android phone? And can I use my factory backup camera? Again, thank you.

What reverse cameras have you installed? I’ve just installed this unit and the picture quality on my cameras so far is terrible. The picture quality was perfect using the same cameras on my old unit. Do you know of any setting I could try and tweak? Cheers

Hi I bought this unit and put it in my toyota vellfire last week. It does do separate video on the hdmi port. I had youtube app on the rear screen and android auto on the front. You press the icon at the top on the android menu bar that is. Picture of a monitor with A - A in it. It changes to A - B. The only issue I have is that when you switch the youtube app to the second monitor it jumps out of full screen and into website view mode, and as you can't control anything your stuck playing. I may try playing with upgrading the youtube app etc..

How did you hook up the steering wheel controls? Everything works except that.
There are 2 wires for steering wheel controls -Key1 & Key2. What you connect the to will depend on your car. Some cars need canbus decoders, some don't

Thanks for the video's. If you are ever looking for content you should think about doing a vid on the in and outs of how to use and do things on these units. Example how to install and use a nav app online and off, how to add music files into your collections as I am still trying to work that one out and so on.

Does anyone know how many phones you can connect to an Android head unit like this? For instance can i have my work phone and personal phone connected at the same time? Also can you prioritize multiple phones? Like connect to my phone first and if my phone isn't near, connect to my wife's phone?
This review made my buy this init. Its pretty imoressive so far. Only issue im having is the trigger for the rear view camera (ive got an aftermarket unit for the van) i can get the feed to go to the unit and display the camera, but cant get it to trigger when i enter reverse. When i do get it to trigger when entering reverse, it doesn't display an image, instead it now displays the backup lines and has a warning symbol with no image. The unit wont let you press anything when this happens.

Any recommendations for dash camera apps? I have an eonon and use 2 forward usb cameras to act as dash cameras. Would love to know if there a better way or an app that would read form both cameras
Enjoyed the video, however again you mention the other ports at the top of the unit saying “ I will go through these in a couple of minutes” and do not, I wonder if anyone else knows what these are? You have done this on a number of units posted
I think you're misunderstanding the video. The other ports are to plug in the cables which I specifically go through during the unboxing
None of the cables etc have those connections, you take a long time explaining the speaker cables and sub woofers, what cameras the cables have connections , trigger wires, camera etc but they are different connectors
The videos are about the after install and I would like to see more about what plugs in where. That does not appear in the videos

One simple question, how quickly does it boot up direct to Android Auto or CarPlay? That's always one thing that's really frustrating with the cheaper units, that boot up speed. You could already be halfway down the street before they turn on with the bad ones. Looks like a great platform and well thought out unit
All comes down to the spec. The greater the hardware, the faster it runs.
@@rhysc9706 I ordered a 4GB/64GB 9” unit with Android 13 and an 8 core processor so fingers crossed it will run well. It's VW specific so I'm excited to have a direct integration instead of a generic head unit

did Eonon adjust the specs or something? i find some info saying this model has only 4gb RAM and then other places say it has 6gb RAM.
There's a variation of specs that also impact the price. Buy to your budget

Just installed this in my van but looking for a little advice with wireing in the reversing camera as the booklet is a little sketchy. Do I use the cam in cable 🤷🏼♂️ it has +12v / GND / BRAKE / and 2 very short blue cables. Which do I couple to the reversing switch live in my van? I also have a trigger cable near the back camera that says reverse wire. 🥺🤷🏼♂️ just can't work it out.

So... I have inherited a 2004 Mustang 40th Anniversary convertible with hardly any original miles from am uncle. The bad part is it has the Mach 460 sound system, which tends to be a bit of a bitch. Do you have any idea of this is difficult to install as far as the Mach 460 system goes?
YES,a very good unit no perfect but for money paid for it worth every pence.Sound very good,fast and responsive even on multitask.Only complain i have about it its radio stereo symbol overlay on rds text a bit stupid ,radio sensitivity not same as the original radio have to use an antenna amplifier.If use on high volume for long time my get hot and i fit myself a fan in to space already designed for it but they don't fit one from factory and now its more cool.Overall my toyota its happy with it and me same.

Yes you will need that pass through adaptor or you will hear a hiss and the volume will be too loud even on the lowest setting
