Hello, the key tool max gives me an error, after the data sniffing it says that there is an error writing code on a transponder key when cloning, do you know why the error on not being able to use that chip?
Hello - I would double check and make sure you are using Xhorse Super Chips while cloning. If you are using these, I am not sure about your specific error. If you bought the device from us feel free to call us for Tech Support 1-866-559-5297
So, am I to understand that a cloned transponder doesn't need to be programmed to the vehicle?
Does that also mean that cloned remote would need to be programmed to thr vehicle?
So, only the transponders and the remotes that a generated would require programming? Is that correct?

Hello - Universal Prox Keys are just that - They are all interchangeable. If the Key Tool Max has a file to create the Prox Key you need then any of the Universal Prox Keys will do the trick for you. Thanks for your question.

Hello Mark - The Xhorse Key Tool Max is a great device, but it is not a replacement for your SmartPro. Both of these devices have their strengths. I would recommend owning both if it is within your budget to do so.
Can someone explain what i am doing wrong?
I am trying to program a transponder key with no buttons, just a simple key. I bought an aftermarket key and with chip. Was working on a 2012 f250 all keys lost.
The options listed under immo all keys lost was keyless go or flip key. Neither are what im trying to program. I tried both after erasing current keys in system and both ways with keyless and flip failed. I cant find any information on what im doing wrong. Can someone help?
Im a Locksmith in Upstate ny We have had issues with trying to program a DST40/80 chip for A variety of Subaru vehicles. When you purchase an OEM key the chips come +DST 40/80 and they never program into these specific vehicles. Can I use a superchip to clone or make it not a +DST40/80? I apologize if my exact chip identification number is incorrect but for some reason I cant use a + to a regular DST chip. Subaru Forester/Outback and other Subaru's OR any tips if anyone has had this issue
Hello - Key programming on Subaru Vehicles can be a bit tricky. From my experience, I don't think you are fighting a transponder formatting problem, I believe you are fighting with an incorrect transponder type. I finally had one come in and I cloned a chip for it and it worked. The next one I get I will take a picture of the chip ID and will send it in here.
For some reason it won’t add it. We use smart pro programming procedures.

I have a KTM Pro. I don't have that quick access button on the right.
There's a 'PS2' jack located there.
My quick access is by pressing and holding the power button located to the left!
I also have a mic jack at the bottom besides the DB-15 ODB connector.
I have two cables that can plug into connector labelled PS2 (6-pin).
One cable is a probe like a multimeter.
The other cable is for connecting to the 'Wired' or XK PCB.
The USB - C connector is for connecting the USB cable to a charger.
My VVDI won’t clone anymore, I think I’ve used like 15 times. I’m not sure what to do.

Hello - You cannot use KeyDiy Remotes with the Xhorse Key Tool Max. You have to use Xhorse branded remotes. You can also purchase tokens for ID48 Cloning along with the required activation from our Website. Two links for these products are listed below.

what if i only wanted to clone transponder form working key? Does the metal blank with transponder need to have super chip or will any 3rd party key blank with transponder work? or does it have to have xhorse superchip? if so, am i able to buy metal key blank with transponder super chipped embedded already?
Thank you for your question. There is no reason that you cannot clone the Transponder Only. When using Xhorse Products to clone transponders, as a general rule you need to use only an Xhorse Super Chip. Currently, there is not a "produced" key with an Xhorse Super Chip already installed. You would need to buy the appropriate Key Shell and then an Xhorse Super Chip to install in the shell.

I have a fleet of taxis. 08-12 Chrysler town & country and Dodge Caravans. Will the Key Tool MAX work for these vans? need to clone and program. I would appreciate a response.
You could probably clone without issue. To program a new key (not a clone) you will need the pin code on many Chrysler’s. I’m just getting into locksmith work but the 2007 caravan I added a key to the other day required a pin code and the aftermarket tools were unable to pull the pin code from the vehicle.

Can the Key Tool Max do BMW CAS4 when paired with Mini Prog?
Thank you very much for your question. The Mini Prog can read data out of a CAS4 Module if the Module has a Mask of 5M48H or 1N35H. You will need to use an Xhorse Solderless Adapter when using the Mini Prog to read data from these Modules.

Hello - The Xhorse Super Chips (Transponders) are specific to Xhorse Products. I have tried them with other devices and to date, they have not worked. Thanks for the question.
as long as you generate it to the proper chip type with a vvdi first, you can use your other programers to program them. but you must have a xhorse vvdi tool to generate the chip first

Hello Thank you for your question. The KeyDiy Device does share some of the features of the Key Tool Max, but there are quite a few differences. The KeyDiy Device has no ability to control a Key Machine, also the KeyDiy Device has no Cloud Server for File Transfer and no ability to produce a working transponder from an EPROM Dump. There are too many differences to list here. Give this Device a try and I am sure that you will find many uses for it.

Hello Yoseph - The Key Tool Max is self-contained as you see in the video. This is the main difference between this device and the Key Tool Mini.
I find that I use my mobile phone a lot and for me, it is really handy to not be interrupted by the phone ringing. This is just my personal preference. As far as capabilities go they are the same. Thank you for your question.

im having problems with key tool max and wireless remote, if i generate remote first, then chip, the remote gets deleted, if i generate chip first, then gen remote the chip gets deleted, what am i doing wrong?
Hello -, Thank you for your question. The proper order for this procedure is to create the remote portion of the key and then either create and program the transponder, or clone the transponder. Give it a try again and see if you have success. If you still have an issue it might not be the steps that you are taking but possibly there is a problem with the remote file that is being used.
