Good to see 459 back home where she belongs. I was the joint keeper of aircraft at Fenland along with Murray Flint when she was recovered from Narborough. Unfortunately I left the RAF soon after and had no further dealings with her so it will be good to see some TLC being applied (along with the correct paint scheme) good luck!
What is the destiny for XS 459 now she is back at Binbrook ? She holds a very special place in my life as I flew her out of RAF Binbrook as part of the LTF back in 1986, just before embarking on my own RAF Aircrew career.
Hi Dave just to clarify- the wings had been cut off long ago. What is being cut in the video is some bracing that was being used to hold the wings in place which was never part of the original plane. This had to be done for road transportation. Hope that helps!
This could have been a great opportunity to show how one of these superb ships is dismantled and a commentary would have been a great asset to the video.

The paint now looks like how I daubed it on to airfix models as a child.
