One of our local grocery stores had 8-oz packs of mushrooms for $.99 last month. I bought 5 of the 7 they had left. One went into spaghetti sauce and I canned the other 4 in half pint jars. I had seen Leisa over on Suttons Daze can a TON of them and followed her instructions She takes her 'shrooms seriously! 😂 They turned out great. I used one jar to make mushroom buttrer sauce with a steak. So good.
I have canned mushrooms multiple times. My best piece of advice is to either quarter them or if you want sliced mushrooms, slice them thicker than you think you should. They come out with a better texture that way. 😊
I’ve got a freezer full of venison. Need recipes because I can’t stand the stuff and soon I’ll have another one or three in the freezer 🤦♀️ Good job Tangy!

Just canned up those 99c mushrooms from Aldi yesterday! I got 15 packages and about 14 half pints. So each package will make a half pint in case you are wondering😊
Thank you Tangi!! I really need to check out Aldi! All we have are DGs and tates in our county. We have to leave the county to even go to a Walmart! Lol We have an Aldi about 30 mins away, just never go. I may have to make a trip and stock up once a month! Good idea 💡😊
I enjoyed seeing your healthy on-budget grocery haul. Aldi is my main store as well. What do you think of the Sam's Club TP compared to 2-ply Northern or Charmin? It was fun looking at your menu, most of those items are things I make on the regular. Deer meat fajitas sound amazing!

We love dehydrating the mushrooms! So easy to store and we crunch them up and add to recipes. It gives such a rich depth of flavor!

We used to only buy Charmin but the Sam’s TP measures up and the cost is way better!
Strawberry jalapeño jam sounds yummy, I have made cranberry jalapeño jam it so good.
It is hard to keep the budget down and it seems to get harder every week.
