I liked Baselang but it was getting a little pricey. I found some good low cost Spanish tutors on italki. I've tried the language exchanges but don't care for those b/c usually people speak better English and it ends up being mostly English or language exchange people don't show up for chat and just disappear. At least with the tutoring sessions you know the person will show up or they won't get paid.

Which level did you get to on Baselang? I'm completing level 1 and that took about a week with 2-3 hours of lessons per day.

I had gotten to level 3. I was doing average 4 hours a week( one hour 4 different days a week)b/c I work full time. For 2-3 hours a day the price is the most cost effective for you. Better than italki. You are really getting your moneys worth! :)

Wow, to get to Level 3 is impressive. Thank you for the feedback. Will you be posting more update videos on your channel?

I'm sure at some point I will post another video...haha..you know how it is learning a new language. Poco a poco.....little by little. Sometimes it gets frustrating but I'm very determined and am not giving up.

I’ve heard of both iTalki and Baselang and I’ve used both. I actually only of them recently though from Ambie Gonzalez TV. I’m currently using iTalki for Korean. I’m leaving the country soon and my goal is to be conversational (it’s a very ambitious goal for the amount of time I have left. I used the 3 trial lessons to find a teacher I liked after doing some research on them and their prices. I currently have two teachers that I take lessons from because of scheduling issues. I think my main teacher was taking a week vacation so I booked a lesson with another teacher that I liked in the meantime. I like iTalki and the teachers on there.
I used Baselang’s free week trial and I liked it too. I decided not to continue with learning Spanish and using Baselang because I felt that I needed to focus my attention solely on Korean if I’m going to achieve my goal.
    I hope that wasn’t confusing.

I watch Ambie Gonzalez, too. She is really inspirational. By the way, I am learning Spanish along with French and ASL. I have decided to focus more on Spanish to become more conversational. So, I totally understand why you would focus your efforts. I need to get back on Italki and find more language partners. Wishing you the best and a safe trip.

I like the Italki give you credits. I think 200 credits for free that you can book a teacher or tutor with. Once you run out then you pay for your lessons. I have not tried BaseLang yet . Thanks for the information. I wish I was exposed to more language learning options growing up.

Sorry, I missed this comment. I used all of my free italki credits and paid for a few classes. This experience gave me the courage to try Baselang. I saved up enough money to really use the program for 2 months over the Summer. Since then my Spanish has become better than my French. Go figure.

I get that vibe from Italki, too. I practiced with instructors for two weeks. However, I haven't practiced with language partner yet. I guess I'm vetting them more strictly. On another note, Baselang has a $1 (1st week) trial. I like it so far.

When i first started italki there was some weirdo being pushy wanting to chat w/ me. Too pushy, a definite red flag and I ignored him. Thankfully he went away. Overall everyone there is trying to learn and I have had no issues. I mean, there are plenty of dating sites out there if you want to hook up.
