Vortex takes the great pioneers of the Sixties and Seventies and adds a set of deep controls, al-lowing you to sculpt and time your flange sounds with great precision. Essential for quickly dialing through the rich history of flange pioneers such as Hendrix and Van Halen and sculpting your own twisted sounds.

Nice pedal review Jo. Personally I like it with the very subtle setting. That's a lovely riff that you are playing too!

Awesome demo. \m/ I have this pedal and it is my most treasured flanger pedal.

Got the mini version of it, and I keep trying to put it on my board, but I keep taking it off after not using it. Every time I click it on and try to work it, I just cannot get a sound I like, and always take it off my board. Then I see it sitting there, and I'm like, I should find a use for it... back on the board... back off. Maybe I should just move it to my synths. I think I will. Sorry for having this private conversation with myself, publicly. My apologies, cheers.

I bought it as a birthday self gift back in 2015...I used twice and sold it a few months later...I more used to classic Boss BF3 tone and nowadays that's the flanger pedal which I use .

Interesting, I am going to check out the Boss BF3. Apart from the Boss yellow overdrive pedal, I really like all the other boss range.

@@GregsBassShed I have several bass overdrives and that yellow overdrive is among them . I believe that it has an unfair bad reputation. If you know what are you doing with the knobs you can get usable tones. I use it at home to practice with overdriven tone. It's not a Darkglass B3K (which I have in my pedalboard) but for less than 100 bucks new or around 60 used you can't get better options.

Alex Blanco I agree that it takes a lot of work to get a good sound out of the Boss OD pedal.
But at the sane time I just don’t like it. Personally it doesn’t give me a kick-ass useable sound in a band scenario.
Each to there own though, and I’m sure it has it’s uses to some bass players such as yourself.

@@GregsBassShed The best use for the ODB3 is being paired at a low heat, alongside the Boss B1X. The cobalt blue one. It's like...it's unsung foundation to get a great, usable, sizzling overdrive tone. The B1X itself is well worth a look too.

@@WilDBeestMF cheers for that, I’ll check out the Boss B1X and see what I think.
