    I like the idea of seeing other players before they see me. This is only an assumption, but I imagine the Cutter Scout has a smaller signature than larger ships that also have a size 2 radar. So I assume the Cutter can see those other larger ships before they see my Cutter. That gives me time to take me and by tiny S1 weapons in the opposite direction, lol.

    It is a decent LTI token. You pay $45 and get $50 worth of upgrade credit.
    Plus this ship will be purchasable in game long before scanning ever is. So just wait three to six months and buy it in game for

    Yesterday i was in a Cutter Scout and was able to detect and target a Cutlass Black at 18KM, i found it odd, that was not normal, at least ive never being able to in other ships.
    Dont know if some radar power was added in the last patch unnannounced.

  • @TPKPatchy
    @TPKPatchy Před 8 měsíci +7

    Even with a big fleet I keep a Cutter Scout (replacing my cutter)
    It can run a VK-00 Quantum drive which is really fast, and it has an instant expedited claim time. Thats really all I need from it, very quiclly get n and fly to other planets quickly.
    I don't buy one straight out, but when they do things like refer a friend and get an STV or Hoverquad, upgrading that vehicle to something like a scout is usually worthwhile.

    • @STLYoungblood
      @STLYoungblood  Před 8 měsíci +2

      You know what, I like that call out. Very well said and a good use case as a taxi I hadn't really considered.

    • @DanakarEndeel
      @DanakarEndeel Před 8 měsíci

      Agreed. At present time there was/is this referral reward for a Hoverquad that has an upgrade value of $30. So getting a CCU to a Cutter Scout would then allow you to get one at $25.
      The 'stout weapon package' is just a joke and the Scout/Cutter should mainly be viewed as a quick taxi. It has ample fuel reserves (1960 liters) when compared to all the other small starting ships (those usually have only 500-700l) so adding a fast VK-00 drive then becomes a viable option. Being able to carry 2SCU worth of cargo is then a nice bonus for when wanting to transport armor sets and weapons from one spot to the next.

    • @TPKPatchy
      @TPKPatchy Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@DanakarEndeel mhhm and if you refer yourself you can buy a Hoverquad to cutter scout upgrade for $25, pick up another $15 of upgrades, gears paints, whatever, and just gift it all to yourself in a month.

    • @DanakarEndeel
      @DanakarEndeel Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@TPKPatchy True as both accounts get a hoverquad so then you just need to spend $40 in cash on the secondary account to get your Cutter Scout for just $25 plus some addons (other CCUs or paint etc). CIG always makes it sound that you need to buy a game package but anything is valid; even $40 worth of CCUs. All that matters is reaching the $40 marker and the referral counts; bringing someone's main account one step closer to a free Gladius with LTI at 10 points as well for those that are closing in on that one. 🙂

  • @deltaecho2621
    @deltaecho2621 Před 8 měsíci +9

    I wouldn’t buy one outright, but I did cough up $5 for the option to CCU my vanilla Cutter up to a Scout depending on how the component rework goes and just to play around with some stealth components on a Scout to see if a Stealth Sentry/Picket ship build is viable with the smaller size/signature of the Scout as opposed to the Terrapin.

  • @robertammersvan3518
    @robertammersvan3518 Před 8 měsíci +4

    Information is going to make people very rich if you sell that information to them. Some more valuable than others, but I can imagine quite a lot. I’m guessing here but that is what the blades are for too. Cutter scout has a low profile, is quite sturdy, decent range for its size and can go everywhere, has dual thrusters which the normal cutter has not. It can probably also detect stealth object too. I wouldn’t say useless at all. It does need a friend with some firepower too support it in risky areas.

    Alredy have the cutter, so i just upgraded it to this for 5$. Its a good point a to b ship and if you need to insert in to tight spots like platform missions. Just used my repeaters to gun down the baddies and landed to loot.

  • @GRIMWOODz
    @GRIMWOODz Před 8 měsíci +6

    I can guarantee that dedicated radar platform will do far more for specific scans than other ships without. And the Terrapin will be king of that forsure. In other words a perfect cheap planet hopper that can ping up juicy stuff on your travels for when you wanna come back with the right ship.

    I think the better question is 'should you upgrade your base Cutter to the Cutter Scout'.

  • @ZyvhurStudios
    @ZyvhurStudios Před 8 měsíci +2

    Well the thing is the scouts scanning station will give you the capability to store data, as CIG mentioned, selling that data is its profession. larger ships that have a size 2 scanner (and ships like the hornet tracker that don't have a station) will just be able to scan the same things, its is a different role... this is my current understanding from citcon*

  • @jmabee
    @jmabee Před 8 měsíci +1

    I had some store credit laying around so i picked one up. if they are ever able to get scanning gameplay put in with the ability to record locations it will make a decent little rock sniffer. I think its small enough to fit on the front of a liberator. so could go well for a small mining op based in one of those. I see a fair amount of utility out of it WHEN that gameplay is put in. Right now if you dont have a real use case there are better options for ships.

  • @cv368
    @cv368 Před 8 měsíci +1

    Fair point. Not counting the Terrapin and Hornet Tracker as they are capable of taking part in military operations i see the Scout mostly being used for mining and salvaging alongside the Mustang Beta, 315p and other single seat "explorers". And even that will only get them an advantage once scanning has become an actual gameplay loop

    You missed a category of person and it is a massive one as the Cutter was the best selling STF ship of all time. People who already own the base Cutter and want to spend 5 dollars upgrading it's radar and getting a slightly longer cargo bay to make the Mule. & Caterpillar fit better. Yes the cargo drops from 4scu to 2scu but you were not going to make a profit trading 4scu at a time anyway 😂

    I find the fact that it only supports 1 crew problematic. If you need to use the station in the back it means that you have to park the ship (or leave it cruising I guess) and leave the ship controls to get things done. That sounds really bad for me. the internal design of these ships is mindblowing but not in a good way, i continue to look at the interior of ships and be fundamentally confused as to who let the over qualified architect work on this ship, it is a MESS in there... almost every ship in the game is like this, i have no idea why they have a living quarters in small ships when we have base building coming soon, a space truck is not for living in, and even then the internals are TERRIBLE! we wana log on, play for a bit, go HOME (outpost building) and then do some base maintenance and log off (if nothing important is happening) it HURTS my brain knowing they will not remove the living quarters from small ships.
