**slowly puts down my hairspray*
Hi Allana! Video idea - it would be very cool to see half of your face with underpainting technique vs other half with traditional techniqueđ
đđ»ââïž I think we all had and used the Avon pearls at some point in our teenage years đđ what a throwback!
Your high-school-self looked amazing. And I have to laugh thinking about the hairspray as setting-spray because Iâve been there
15 year-old Elena loved blue & green eye shadow, maxi skirts, blazers, gauzy/flowy tops, scarves, and vintage jewellery! đđ 33 year-old Elena has toned it down a bit (no blue eye shadow between brows & lids anymore haha), but has the same general vibe. Thanks for sharing your make-up evolution, Allana, and reminding people to look back! đđïž
Weirdly enough, I used to always put my concealer under my foundation because I'm from a large Italian family (35 first cousins) with four makeup artists and three hairdressers so I was always being schooled. The brand everyone loved was Prescriptives, but by the time I was old enough to buy it, it was discontinued.
I was 15 in the early 90s. My makeup consisted of concealer, sometimes blush, powder, brown or black eyeliner smudged with a finger or qtip alllll around the eyes and a crap ton of black mascara. I never did my brows because they had been plucked into oblivion. Then usually a brown or dark lipstick. Classic 90s grunge. I actually still love this look, just more finessed. â€
I think basic black eyeliner and mascara was a staple to my 15 year old selfâŠ. The no make up make up of our generation đ
This is greatđđ I love this idea.
Ahhh I'm so happy it' every day may! I'm up working on finals and this is a MUCH needed distraction! Thank youu đ€©
Happy Birthday Cult beauty. â€
My teenage makeup consisted solely of the Mac Studio fix powder foundation and layerss of the Maybelline falsies mascara đ€Ł
omg, memory unlocked. except for me it was the max factor powder foundation! But Maybelline mascara SLAPPED
Such a beautiful video i love your make up!!!
Loved this video!
Ohh I also do recall my photobooth days and uploading ALL of the pictures! Haha I love the reminiscing.
Loved it!!â€
Allana you were beautiful at 15 and more beautiful now. CT iconic nude lip pencil is my favorite and looks great on you!
High School me: heavy black liner, and "Dial A Lash" mascara in deep black, the thicker the better, and a bronzer than turned me orange :)
55 year old me: knows what shades to use, cool undertones work best, what colours bring out my eyes, and how less is more are words to live by.
Thank you for everything you've taught me in the last number of years - my face thanks you đđ
The cutest video!!!
I wore allot of eyeshadow in highschool. Loved playing with colours. Covergirl 4 or 5 shade pans were my jam
Glowyyy âš
Good afternoon from Australia! Just having my evening snack!! You have the most perfect teeth growing up †I would adore more wedding content, maybe inspo and clothing options etc.
My 15 year old self did not wear any makeup at all, except for a couple of times when I put eyeliner on my lower water line and I thought that I looked so grown up and mature, LOL!!!!đ i feel nostalgic when I remember that at least in my country, thatâs how it used to be, nobody used makeup until at least 17-18 and even then it was not usual nor we did not use much at all, only on the weekends to go out, maybe mascara and some glossâŠ.then I went to the US (Midwest) as an exchange student when I was 17 and was SHOCKED to see 12 and 13 year olds wearing every day full face of make up to school. Thatâs actually when I started wearing a bit of makeup on a more regular basis.
You looked gorgeous then as you look now! â€
đđđđ i loved the idea behind this campaign! So cool to know more about lil Lan. #whydidMachire me SENT ME!! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
My 15 year old self loved to wear the wrong foundation colour, looking super orange, plus doing eye-liner on the lower lash line and not on the top đ #NeverAgain
The memories!!!! For a while I only wore eyeliner on waterline and eyelid, but NO mascara!! đ so glad that was short-lived.
Long live Benefit you rebel & the oompah loompah life
Aww precious baby Lan! This was such a cute video idea! I used to do a liquid winged liner every single day and it would be truly effortless! Now I can't get them even for the life of me...
I have been trying underpainting with you but realised I like it slightly differently. I put foundation/concealer on first but avoid the areas I would bronze. Then add cream bronzer, being it together and set with very light layer of powder. So much softer a look with less layer. Blush bronzer et c don't then lift foundation which is bonus.đ
Thankful someone else acknowledges the hairspray as setting spray trend. Whenever I tell people that they look at me like Iâm crazy đđ„Č
But it 100% worked 10 times better than any setting spray Iâve tried as an adult đ
Guilty for using that for my wedding day makeup to really lock it in place!
â€â€â€ missing your vlogs
Your new health journey is so inspiring
Loooove everyday Mayâ€â€ much love from Morocco đČđŠ
HBD Cult Beauty đ
Allana your teeth look perfect in your pics. And for the love of all things holy- DO you age?? Beautiful then and now!
I loved this. I used those little bronzing beads as well. Avon. đ„°đ„°
Avon was it!
Good morning from Trinidad and Tobago đčđč (itâs 1:30) đ€Ł
I barely even recognized you, because Iâve seen you with light hair for so long. Definitely beautiful then and now!
I discovered the world of makeup much later in life. I would walk by Sephora and think, âwhy do women go into Sephora so muchâ đ€Ł Iâm that woman now đ€Łđ
sending love from argentina lan and dejan, really enjoying every day may â€
Loved this walk down memory lane đ I used to wear dark eyeliner only along my lower lash line. No base, brow, or lip products đđ
What a cute vid!
In highschool was super shy so absolutely did not wear makeup at school, because at that time I was concerned with what others would think of me if I changed how I looked. When I did wear makeup around friends, it was blush and eyeliner. If I did wear lipstick I did use lip liner because that's what my sister had taught me. My sister also taught me how to fix my brows and I had a clear brow gel (that didn't really do anything). I only learned how to apply eyeshadow years after. The one thing that has not really changed is my personal hate for lipgloss. My hair stick's to it and gets everywhere.
Oh Allana, your 15 year old self did better makeup than I did hahahaha! I loved black eyeliner everywherrreeee, and literally just foundation (that was too pale) and job done. It was NOT a lewk :P Plus I had braces from 15-18, the joyssss
The blue u are wearing looks so good on you â€â€â€
@allanaramaa
Aww đ„° love the 15year old Allana as much as I love the 29year old Allana â€â€â€
I loved a lot of things about the 80s but NOT the makeup lol. So basically never wore any. I got into makeup in the 90s and even then there's no comparison with all the products and innovation these days. I think 15 yr old Allana did a pretty good job. You look just as young as you did then! Loved this video idea Lan, thanks for sharing!
Good morning from Sweden! đ
I used to be so obsessed with makeup when I was a teen, but it was back in the day when we didn't have many brands in New Zealand and certainly didn't have online shopping! I used to dream of seeing Stila and MAC and so many brands "in real life" and not just in the magazines. My Mum bought be a Stila lip gloss back when she went overseas and my mind was blown. Then I remember buying a MAC glowy powder SECOND-HAND on a swap site (before the stores actually sold stock online). Fast-forward to 34-year-old me....definitely no shortage of makeup access and my bank account knows it.
Bless you and your cult beauty discount code đđ»
I am shocked at 15 year old Allana! You look younger now â€
I remember watching you when i was in high school like 8+ years ago and you never did your bottom lashes and I did not understand that you could just skip thatđ I also think you inspired my love for excessive layered cheek products
A classic everyday makeup - your younger self would have thanked you for such a gorgeous look! LolâŠ
My high school self wore a covergirl stick concealer, maybelline mascara (yes the pink and green one), and a maybelline shimmery dream mousse blush (honestly it was pretty and I miss it lol)
I put my old Bondi Bae next to my new one and they're not the same in my opinion. The recent one is so much warmer.
Hairspray.. the og setting spray haha
I thought that I was the only one who used hair spray this way when I was younger. I used it only for brows though but I feel less weird now!!đ â€
My 15 old self did not use a lot of makeup maybe some mascara, but my 11 old self loved black or blue eyeliner and mascara. I used a lot of it and lipgloss that I reapplied every 5 minutes đ! đ
I was fifteen in the mid 90s. No foundation because nothing pale enough for my skintone existed at the time, and certainly not at the drugstore. Not sure what I did for concealer (Rimmel's stick concealer that looked like a lipstick, maybe?). I think my main things were blush, eyeliner (though I may've added that a year later), mascara, and something on the lips.
What a fun vid! It's fun thinking about my own makeup as a teenager. As a very pale gal, I tended to avoid bronzer since I could never find a shade that wasn't orange...But, I would rock a soft pink cheek, and definitely, like you, rocked the thick, black mascara (albeit I wore L'Oréal's Voluminous) on the lashes. I wore concealer to hide some rosacea redness, and MAC Studiofix powder foundation to set the whole face. I would then always follow it up with a light pink or clear gloss (hello, Juicy Tubes!)
Strangely, I never was into highlighter, although I was so pale that I felt I didn't need it. Also, I was colouring my hair very dark back then (it's medium brown / not coloured now), so the look was already more intense. Thanks for the throwback!
Would you be willing to do a back-in-the-day fragrance video? I know it's more difficult to describe scents, but it would be so fun to discuss as a topic...What did you wear when you were younger?
Some of my 'fragrance wardrobe' consisted of the following (over the span of a few years and in no particular order):
Amarige by Givenchy
Eternity by Calvin Klein
Ralph by Ralph Lauren
Heaven by The Gap
360 by Perry Ellis
Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana
Dior Addict by Christian Dior
So de la Renta by Oscar de la Renta
La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain...
And God help you if you wore Satsuma by The Body Shop. Most of my friends did, and it always made me nauseated!
Hi Allana!! You were beautiful at 15 and your gorgeous now!! I started wearing makeup at 14. It was just mascara and dark black, liquid liner. At 15, I started upping my game, I added some eyeshadow, Lip gloss and blush. đ This was a great video!! Have a wonderful day!! †Xx
Gud morninnn lan & Dan greetings from Indiađ
Thanks for the flash backs to my black eyeliner face, also around the age of 12, during which I looked like a child but also super strung out somehow?
15 year old me was into concealer, mascara and a very popular baked blush from The Body Shop. Not all that much has changed to be honest đ
In my day it was Cover Girl and Maybelline makeup and we used brow pencil for eyeliner in BLACK!! Uugghh đ
Hi everybody! Loving EDM!!!!
My two sons are there. â€
We need more Smokey and sultry and drammatic look here on the channel please đđŒ it
OMG my makeup game has changed drastically over the years. When I was in high school I had no idea what I was doing when it came to makeup and I didn't have anybody to ask and looking back now I am embarrassed for my younger self. I only used a powder foundation from Covergirl because I couldn't stand the feeling of liquid foundation. I didn't use bronzer blush or highlight. And when it came to my eyes I would use one color and a black eyeliner and mascara. The bad part about this is that I would put on the eyeshadow and then do a like of eyeliner and then put more eyeshadow on top of that over the eyeliner and on my lips I would mostly just use a clear gloss. So yeah like I said embarrassing lol.
You cutie pie! Itâs so funny how different you look with dark hair - it even makes your features and face shape appear different.
Loved this video. I wear way more makeup now but look much softer. Blending is not for the young! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I was 15 in 1990! I used loads of green colour corrector for my redness and always had a sickly hue about me! I was still into electric blue mascara from the 80âs and minuscule brows! đđđ
Good Morning Lan & Dan †greetings from Germany
At 16 I was aloud to experiment with makeup. Iâm 56 now so I was a child of the early 80âs. I remember coming down the stairs and my dad asking me if I was going out like that???đđźđ€Șđ€Ł I had teal and pink shadow on with all lot of teal liner. My lipstick choice was a vampy purple lipstick from Chanel! I looked like a đ€Ą đ€Ł
LOOOOL, well, let me tell you, at 15 the only makeup I wore was the black liner (tightlining) and mascara - that's it!đ I didn't get into makeup, really, till my mid 20's when I discovered youtube and early days "beauty gurus"đđ„°
This reminded me that I used to buy a single pot eyeshadow from Victoriaâs Secret and wore it all over my lid every day, lined with black liner and glopped black mascara around my eye and called it a day. And oof, the dream matte mousse đ
The KEY to underpainting (I learned the hard way lol) is to blend the foundation all over the forehead and not just in the centre đ
SoâŠ.. I didnât know about hairspray to set makeup. I did not know this until today. đ
some general steps you can follow to help you find makeup that suits your needs:
Determine your skin type and needs:
Identify your skin type: Determine if you have oily, dry, combination, or sensitive skin. This will help you choose products that are formulated to address specific skin concerns.
Consider your skin concerns: Do you have acne-prone skin, uneven skin tone, or specific issues like redness or dark circles? Identifying your concerns will guide you in selecting makeup products that offer the desired coverage and benefits.

oh my i forgot that we used hair spray as setting spray back in the day. the hacks that we thought over back then were wild
Request for video: Recreation of celebrities' make-up looks. (For example, Miley Cyrus my life in looks, British Vogue edition ) đ
I was in highschool during the era of instagram brows and the orange eyeshadow...safe to say I went the complete opposite now đ
Oh man, your teenage self was still classier than mine - my teenager adored the blue eye shadow đ° and those pearly blushes, of course I remember đ did not use hairspray tho, but legitimately used an iron FOR CLOTHES to straighten my HAIR đđ this was such a fun video!
SCREAMED after reading your comment. hOW DID YOU EVEN GET TO STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR WITHOUT ACTUALLY FRYING IT đđ
@@andrci lol I am petrified myself! Those were the days, live fast die young đ I think I used a towel over my hair to âprotectâ it đ but luckily Iâve attempted this for only a couple of times đđđ I forgive her
@@a_tots đđđ
when I was 15 I wore 0 makeup lol I was a junior in HS before I discovered the raccoon eyes haha PS- did you see that Dior has come out with new rosy blushes?! I can't seem to find them though..... I'm fair, but I wanna try that mahogany one!! Don't listen to the haters about your lips either.. they look wonderful on you!
A hairspray!! >
Good morning from Switzerland đđ§Ą
Good morning, Germany here đâ€
@@angilii7331 Good afternoon from Australia!

â€â€â€â€
wow you look completely different at 15. I definitely see some of the same features but if I didnât know, I would never have thought that was you. I think it may be the dark hair that threw me.
I terrified to go back and look at pics. It would of been the mid 90âs for my 15 year old self. All I know was I wore a lot đ
When I was 15 it was 1995. Makeup was either alllll put on or nothing at all lol. Lots of black eyeliner and mascara
you look pretty, but I was really hoping you'd recreate that 15-year-old look 1:1!
Wait. What was wrong with your brows in that pic ? đđđ. I thought they looked so good
Am I the only one who thinks you look younger now than you did 15 years ago? đ â€
Haha I totally agree!
Or NOTHING like that girl?
â@@kimberleemulherin4249 I don't think either necessarily looks younger or prettier than the other but wow they don't look like the same person really at all
@@bums009 Agreed
I bought my 1st concealer for my youngest son's christening at the age of 37. He still is a bad sleeper.
I blanked my face out with foundation and used no blush or bronzer at 15! Bottom eyeliner only and either black eyeshadow or sparkly white. đ I honestly looked revolting.
Well judging by those pictures you definitely did not have any awkward teenage years!⊠you were just as pretty as you are now with just a few less make up tricks đ
Foundation, lipstick and mascara was my 15 year old makeup, no other step was aloud đ
You look so cute at 15! The makeup was definitely better than my dark liner at 15 đ
đđ€đđŒââïžđđđ
Please make a video following an Ali andreea look -French makeup artist on CZcams.
I have to say the eyebrows you had 4 years ago suited you waaay beter! This arched and dark eyebrows make you look a bit witchy
Oh man, at 15 I had the emo raccoon eyes and that was it! Now I don't wear any eyeliner
Would have loved for you to replicate your old style as opposed to doing the same makeup as you do now. Would have been fun
Your lips are a dream ;) đ
as an asian, at 15 years old, I only knew BB cream, and eyebrow pencil because of my non-existence eyebrow.... >.
