Ray was my 8th grade English Teacher.
He would extole his genre to the highest when we talked Music.
I was the 14 yr old in 1969 who was working hard on his Neil Young amd EC riffs...
Year's later I caught him at the Palomino in N. Hollywood, riding his big white stand up...an incredible Performer.

Mr. Campi passed away back in March. To say he had a good innings would be an understatement; he lived and breathed rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, country, hillbilly, western swing and r & b his whole life and was a hugely influential musician. There's no greater hero to me.
