- Right after the new Chill Season we got a brand new Big Run in Splatoon 3 and they introduced a brand new boss salmonid: Megalodontia (also known as Joe for some reason) and I was NOT prepared for how terrifying this would be...

its from a post from Splatoon (or Nintendo) Japan twitter account, where the translation of the name was “Joe”
For explanation of the joe thing: when you translated the original tweet made by the splatoon JP account, it would call Megalodontia "joe"

i have all the trophies and badges and figured i could just stop after a couple games with 140 cause i had class and didn't need to grind for top 5% anymore, boy was i wrong
hydra is actually super useful for king salmonids! the problem is that you were trying to kill bosses. with hydra, you gotta just shoot the king 100% of the time, and ink turf whenever you can, but mostly just focus on shooting. it can also obliterate the mothership singlehandedly!
^^ ESPECIALLY with joe. joe's a natural boss killer, so there really *isn't* much of a point to worry about bosses lol
Taking time to get egg into consideration, hydra splatling has better dps than throwing eggs, and can be concentrated on joe's boo boo and horrorboros bomb.

Also I love that you complain about hydra during the boss despite hydra having the best DPS in the game.
hydra in salmon run = suffering. sure it has good dps but you have to charge it while not being able to keep your charge or recharge like you can with ballpoints and nautilus... takes a lot of time to charge and its awful for a mode where salmonids are literally everywhere and you need to keep moving (you cant move locations while having your charge)

i think it happened because of a mistranslation of the original japanese announcement tweet where the boss's name was just translated to "joe" which is really funny imo
@@loool72yeah I think it was a google translate mess up. People hit the translate button on twitter and got smacked with “Joe”. I believe with the quotation marks.
the entire point of the boss is to keep moving. with hydra's limited mobility and insanely large charge time, it's basically a death wish

The rizzco splatana is a very powerful weapon.
The normal deals 200 but has low painting.
Charged has peirce and one shots everything except for kings.
It can even hit underground maws.

its ass the charge is too slow for salmon run standards and you cant save yourself in dire situations

Yknow what bugs me about the map? I love this map for BR, but the lack of use for the other parts of the map made me so disappointed at the same time

It was funny hearing you complain about tri-stringer when it’s actually really good in salmon run, able to one-shot cohocks and steelheads, a claim to fame some chargers don’t have, and does heavy damage to high HP bosses like steel eels and slammin lids. Tri-stringer is very good in SR

Like other comments here have said, Hydra is a fantastic salmon run weapon in general. You were just too frustrated and needed to take a break so you could step back and think about the weapon. Generally speaking, your allies will be able to clear for you if you just stand back a bit. You're not a short range shooter, you're a slow charging splatling.

Omg thats A LOT how do people manage this? I played so much and my record was a sad 93 eggs... And i'm not even bad at splatoon but there seems so be something i missed about salmon run
@@Lea-np8rs Luck. That really it. Getting solid teammates. Getting good weapons. Getting good waves. Not having Flyfish and Stingers spawning constantly.
Basically the stars got to align for a score like that.
My hazard level was maxed so a lot of bosses spawned and they gave me Grizzco weapons twice and then last wave I got Sploosh-O-Matoc which is my best Salmon Run weapon by far. So I did a lot of boss slaying and egg moving.
I also just play a ton of a Salmon Run so I've gotten really good at it.
God you must be the luckiest person ever. I had to join a livestream to get my gold, and even then it was a nightmare, felt like I got the twin special everytime nonstop. And the fact that most of my weapons were ones I suck at (hydra was the worst for me oml). I think things got better for me when I dropped from eggsec to profresh, but man was it overstimulating. Moral of the story: eggsec's overrated imo 💀
