  • Today we have a little DeWalt 3200psi 2.8gpm pressure washer that has been sitting for a year and now won't start. It starts then dies, won't even run off choke. So in this video I'll show you how to do a quick carburetor clean / service to remedy the situation. This little machine has the classic Honda GX200 engine, however this is the exact same procedure you would do on any Honda GX motor, GX 160 200 240 280 300 340 390. 4hp 5hp 5.5hp 7hp 8hp 9hp 11hp 13hp

Excellent video. You covered a lot of possible problems that many small engine creators miss or don't consider to be important enough to mention. Well, to the inexperienced user looking for help, everything is important. One item you off-handedly mentioned helped me to get my pressure washer going this weekend. Great job.

Bought a used Dewalt Pressure Washer, wouldn't start. Shot starting fluid in the air intake and confirmed it ran, spark plug remained dry so I knew there wasn't any gas getting there. Followed this guide, took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish, very appreciate of your video.

Thanks a million from Tasmania. Exactly as you showed, jet clogged on my 3200 with powdery rust probably from fuel poured from an old steel jerry can last year. You just saved me $$$. Brilliant!

Had the same issue fixed it just like in the video, I didn’t have the wire, I just hooked up my air compressor with a basket ball tip and it fit right in the groove of the pressure apparatus, cleared out out the debris, may not of worked as good with no abrasion but it did do the job of your short of supplies, also used a mini clamp for the fuel hose because I don’t have a file clamp yet, definitely a good tool for the collection. awesome video man, love this pressure washer. Second season left gas in it, subbed

Update from my carburetor issue. It wasn’t my carburetor. It was a bad plug. If your dewalt power washer isn’t starting and it is backfiring when you try to start it then first try replacing the spark plug. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I would have tried the easiest solution first.

interesting trick that ive seen in the past that you may not know about.....there is a built in fuel line plug in the choke lever on some of the honda engines. You can pull that choke lever off, and use that round portion to plug the fuel line. But no doubt the pinchers work too. less leaks out.

Be careful when trying to bang out that brass jet. It’s real easy to break the cheap plastic pieces right next to it. That’s what happened to me and I had to replace the whole carburetor.
I don’t know if all pressure washers have carburetor problems like this particular Dewalt model with the GX200 motor, but my old craftsman never had that problem even with the old gas sitting in it for a year or more.
With this particular Dewalt model you absolutely have to completely run out all the gas before storing it away for the winter.Otherwise you’re looking at having to either going through all this mess in this video or having to altogether replace the carburetor which actually is easier and they’re not that expensive. This carburetor for the Honda GX200 engine is severely flawed in my opinion. Every year you’ll have to siphon out the gas and then run it until all the gas is out of the carburetor. I don’t know if all the pressure washers today require that, but I know with my old craftsman I didn’t. You’d think for a higher end pressure washer like this Honda would have fitted it with a more dependable carburetor.

My 3600 will have pressure and then not, then again. It has a plastic handle where you would remove the spring needle. I'm not sure how to remove the handle. It seems to be held on with a plastic key. Any ideas. This video you did has the same plastic nob but you were doing a carb repair.
