- Today we have a little DeWalt 3200psi 2.8gpm pressure washer that has been sitting for a year and now won't start. It starts then dies, won't even run off choke. So in this video I'll show you how to do a quick carburetor clean / service to remedy the situation. This little machine has the classic Honda GX200 engine, however this is the exact same procedure you would do on any Honda GX motor, GX 160 200 240 280 300 340 390. 4hp 5hp 5.5hp 7hp 8hp 9hp 11hp 13hp

Excellent video. You covered a lot of possible problems that many small engine creators miss or don't consider to be important enough to mention. Well, to the inexperienced user looking for help, everything is important. One item you off-handedly mentioned helped me to get my pressure washer going this weekend. Great job.
You! Are the mechanic now
Thank you for taking the time to teach with patience and courtesy, all the information was really useful. I'm from Brazil and I have equipment with exactly the same problem and there was no way for it to work. With your instructions, I will certainly be able to do it. Thank you friend !
You! Are the mechanic now
I have had one of these sitting in the garage for almost 4 years because I couldn't get it to start. This did it! Thanks so much for the detailed instructions. They were perfect.
I agree - great information.
Glad it helped!
I’ve had the same problem and for the life of me couldn’t figure out what the issue was. Huge help, thank you sir!!
Thank you for putting out this information. I applied the same concept to my 3300 freaky power washer and now it works like new.
Bought a used Dewalt Pressure Washer, wouldn't start. Shot starting fluid in the air intake and confirmed it ran, spark plug remained dry so I knew there wasn't any gas getting there. Followed this guide, took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish, very appreciate of your video.
Thanks a million from Tasmania. Exactly as you showed, jet clogged on my 3200 with powdery rust probably from fuel poured from an old steel jerry can last year. You just saved me $$$. Brilliant!
You are the mechanic now!
Had the same issue fixed it just like in the video, I didn’t have the wire, I just hooked up my air compressor with a basket ball tip and it fit right in the groove of the pressure apparatus, cleared out out the debris, may not of worked as good with no abrasion but it did do the job of your short of supplies, also used a mini clamp for the fuel hose because I don’t have a file clamp yet, definitely a good tool for the collection. awesome video man, love this pressure washer. Second season left gas in it, subbed
Just followed your directions and it's running again! Thanks for your help brother!
No problem 👍
Exact problem. Cleaned the jet and tube...back to work. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Glad to help
Great instructional video! Thanks so much!
Update from my carburetor issue. It wasn’t my carburetor. It was a bad plug. If your dewalt power washer isn’t starting and it is backfiring when you try to start it then first try replacing the spark plug. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I would have tried the easiest solution first.
We call that "KISS"
Got my pressure washer fixed...thank God for this video
Glad it helped
Great work. Thank you for the video. It was very detailed, much needed.

You are the mechanic now!
Couldn't ask for a better video thanks so much 💓 man i just got one for about $25 bucks with a 3dnx27gsi cat pump and it's doing the same thing start run a tad bit longer and cut off.
No problem 👍
man u just saved my day thank you
Thank you you helped me out
interesting trick that ive seen in the past that you may not know about.....there is a built in fuel line plug in the choke lever on some of the honda engines. You can pull that choke lever off, and use that round portion to plug the fuel line. But no doubt the pinchers work too. less leaks out.
Very helpful. Made my day!
Glad to hear it!
U got my problem solve thanks God Bless ur life
Mine surges. Thought it was bad gas. Can't wait to try this. Thank you very much!
Did it work?
@@machinesnmetal I'm still trying to figure out how you got that heavy machine up on that table. I will keep you updated. Thanks! ☹
It's a hydraulic table you load the machine on to it near the ground and then you pump it up with your foot to working height
@@machinesnmetal Followed your well made video but couldn't get the emulsion tube out so I put it back together and just cleaned the orifice at the end of your video. Going out today to get fresh gas. Here is what it sounded like before taking it apart. It's more like choke problem.

@@michaelkoons8725 how did it come up?
God bless you. Your video is awesome!
👊
Be careful when trying to bang out that brass jet. It’s real easy to break the cheap plastic pieces right next to it. That’s what happened to me and I had to replace the whole carburetor.
I don’t know if all pressure washers have carburetor problems like this particular Dewalt model with the GX200 motor, but my old craftsman never had that problem even with the old gas sitting in it for a year or more.
With this particular Dewalt model you absolutely have to completely run out all the gas before storing it away for the winter.Otherwise you’re looking at having to either going through all this mess in this video or having to altogether replace the carburetor which actually is easier and they’re not that expensive. This carburetor for the Honda GX200 engine is severely flawed in my opinion. Every year you’ll have to siphon out the gas and then run it until all the gas is out of the carburetor. I don’t know if all the pressure washers today require that, but I know with my old craftsman I didn’t. You’d think for a higher end pressure washer like this Honda would have fitted it with a more dependable carburetor.
Nice video thanks
Most welcome
Thanks
NiCe video do u have the video when u clean the pressure washer I need to see how to clean the engine and all around the pressure washer
Just use the pressure washer
So I did exactly what you did throughly and it’s still doing the same thing. Gas is new. Any suggestions?
Broooooooo, you are awesome
My 3600 will have pressure and then not, then again. It has a plastic handle where you would remove the spring needle. I'm not sure how to remove the handle. It seems to be held on with a plastic key. Any ideas. This video you did has the same plastic nob but you were doing a carb repair.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Can you please tell me where does the Anti-Flutter spring get connected. In your video its hard to tell where is the hole that it connects to. Thansk
theres a little tiny hole next to where the rod slips into the black plastic socket on the carbretor. the other end uses the same hole the rod does on the governer arm.
I wish you was in my area I just got 3 pressure washer for $75 all have a bit of something wrong with them but they all work. I just have to find out what's wrong with them and out them back together.
Make sure you make videos working on them!
@machinesnmetal heard that I definitely wasn't wish I woulda recorded the 3dnx27gsi cat pump tear down And rebuild. If it's works I got a $1200 pressure washer for $25
Don't let it get out of hand

What type of pump oil and engine oil do you recommend?
Straight sae 30 for the engine and straight sae30 non detergent for the pump
Could I use a piece of safety wire (wire used to tie down bolts) to clean the jet? Or is the jet too narrow for this?
I think too narrow. Use bicycle brake wire, unwravelled
Can you link me where you buy replacement parts or rebuild kits? I actually just need the washer for the plastic jet that goes under the throttle screw. Thanks!

How many turns out did you put that idle screw back in?
Just enough to keep the motor at a nice idle
Para que es el tornillo negro de plastico que quitaste al final?
Idle speed
What’s the best fuel to use for these engines?
High octane, ethanol free
Excellent video. What I did is turned entire unit upside down. Without uninstalling the carburetor--You can then take the fuel bowl out--then unscrew the jet screw out--clean it and reinstall. Saves the work of taking carburetor completely out. Thanks for this video!
why wont my carburetor slide off?the round part on the right side is hiiting the front railing
You might have to loosen the motor from the frame to give you the extra space you need
@@machinesnmetal ended up just putting it on its back and taking out the pin with it still attached. Did everything you said and now I have a working pressure washer. You’re a legend!
Mine did the same, you got to kind of just man handle it around while pulling off
Good video, could be briefer and maybe figure out a way to mount the camera ;~)
