Id say he carries, and is locked and loaded ready to go at any time. I’d say he didn’t go thru all that firearms training and choose not to protect himself in real life.
Big part and he is just a kind soul.
When you approach people like Keanu Reeves you get certain vibes. You can see kindness in his eyes, he has a disharming personality and besides, he blends into most crowds unnoticed. Whenever you see him around people, fans or celebrities, it's never about him. He has no desire for attention and shows tremendous respect for people no matter who they are. In the UK we simply call men like him gentlemen. That's what he is, a gentle, friendly and kind man.

We need more people like him in the world. He is a true saint, and my heart goes out to him because of the lose of his one true love years ago.
He toured Australia twenty something years ago with his band Dogstar and I was asked by the Perth venue to be his guitar (bass) roadie.The first thing I noticed about him was how polite and unpretentious - even on stage - he was. I tuned his bass and showed him the band room which had a decent assortment of drinks - including some Margaret River reds chosen for him - and he asked me to hang around while the band went back to their hotel to eat and shower before the gig. He told me to help myself to the rider, which I did. By the time the band got back I was semi-neutered on his wine selection. I don't think he even had a drink but I drank like a movie star. I managed to escort them to the stage, the bass stayed in tune, the girls screamed, I met a bona fide movie star and got paid. He remains a genuine good bloke in my experience.

Met him w my wife in California and I can honestly say he is just a nice guy.. regular down to earth guy... doesn't blow anyone off...he talked to a few kids for 5 min and was really nice to them...soft spoken guy.....

He’s so nice to all he doesn’t need them.
Not to mention he can take care of himself. While many of the fight scenes are scripted and choreographed the training he undergoes to look believable in those scenes is pretty intense and I'm sure he knows how to protect himself. But he's also a pretty laid back guy - one I think would be able to deescalate a situation before things got out of hand.
