  • In this video we explain what you should be looking for in terms of the brilliance, sparkle and fire in an Asscher cut (square emerald cut) diamond. We compare two GIA certified diamonds to see which looks more beautiful to the eye. Please watch the video, compare the two stones, and see if you agree with our conclusions.
For expert information and advice, please feel free to call and speak with one of our diamond experts on 01932 260100 (UK) or 0044 1932 260100 (International).

At the start of this 3 minute video I couldn’t really tell the difference between the two diamonds.
By the end, the differences were startling and obvious!!
    Thankyou so much for Posting.
About to spend £5,000 (which is a LOT of money to me!) on an Asscher Cut Diamond ring for the Mrs and this video has been invaluable!!
    Thankyou!

Jay Kay these 3.5 carat diamonds are a lot more than 5k euro. This invaluable info is important so you don’t get ripped off by a jeweler(jewelry stores are in the business of ripping people off). I did an overwhelming amount of research and after awhile it made sense.

the stone on the right would look decent if not placed next to the really sparkly one on the left.
the theory of relativity...in a manner of speaking.

+Reincarnation. Yes, you are quite right, the difference in beauty compares easily apparent when you compare the two diamonds side by side. However, once you get used to how well a diamond can look if properly cut, it becomes straight forward to notice poorer stones, even without a side by side comparison.

The one on the left has visible blemishes though.

That's a good point. The stone was graded as a VVS1 clarity by GIA & we're filming at fairly high magnification for the shot. What you can see is fluff/dust on the surface, probably from the polishing cloth.
