We start with the basic construction of a DC motor. You require a field and an armature that can move. Then we focus in on the separately excited DC motor. WHY does the speed of the motor decrease when the field strength increases? This is a good guide for beginner's who know very little about DC motors. what could be the reason of a main contactor curring off when inserting reverse on this kind of separate exitement dc motor?

Hello, I do not understand how if the field is open circuited, the motor is going to spin at extremely high speed.. if the magnetic field is cut across the armature, how the lorenz force is going to be generated in the first place?
