- Highlights from the Dawgs 31-0 beatdown of the #5 Trojans on September 22, 1990 at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Todd Marinovich's famous post-game quote was "All I saw was purple". This was really the game that put us on the national radar for a few years to come.

We cranked up the new Zeppelin box set, sipped a little Beam, and headed down to one of the great ass-kickings of all time!
What a team! I'm from Boston and most ppl here could care less about NCAAF but I love it and I love the early 90s Huskies!
This Husky defense just destroyed teams .
I am so glad that I got to see the entire Don James era and the late sixties early seventies Jim Owens - Sonny Sixkiller days. WE were purple and gold now we are every color under the sun. Bring back traditonal football and uniforms to UW!
I could not agree more!
I was too young to understand or watch the Jim Owens Era. My family did not watch sports. I was old enough to Discover Don James and appreciate UW Football on my own.
It was a great 20 year stretch for my Washington Huskies.
ill never forget this game Todd Manovich said in the seattle times next day ill I saw was purple , this was before the internet
SC O-line completely overwhelmed.
Best quote came from Marinovich after they got drubbed.."All I saw is purple"..
always thought the huskie cheerleaders were the finest in the pac10 back in the day...
I can't imagine being on acid and having Steve Emtman chasing me . . . for Husky fans that was football heaven. That was one of the best events I've ever attended.
Steve Emtman is a top 5 DL of all time in college football.
Dude was a Beast of a Farm boy who threw around bails of hay his whole life.
Its too bad injuries killed his NFL career playing on the awful Indianapolis turf.
Was at that game, 30 yard line, 30 rows up South Side. Loudest game I've ever attended. Remember in the 4th quarter, and game was decided by then, and the trojans were beat and gave up. The SC band leader got up to signal the band to play "Conquest" after every play, but the dawg fans booed loudly, over the band, so the band leader gave up too. He shrugged his hands and shoulders in submission, sat down, and they didn't play anything for the rest of the game.
Ahhh , those were the days .😊😊😊
now this was a great Washington QB....unlike that garbage (miss every wide open receiver Hobert).... loved Mark....
This is where Marinovich's True Colors came out of the Woodwork and not in a good way, either. I could only imagine how the energy would be if a Traditional Continental Powerhouse came to Seattle, let alone an HBCU Styled Band Standoff like USC. I love the logos and the music because they are fresher than they are today.
I still wanna know how in the FU@K did we lose to UCLA just a few weeks later??? That little fiasco cost us back to back national championships!! A few friends and I got together to watch that game at another friends apartment. We were all SICK when it was over! And UCLA wasnt even that good! Probably the biggest loss in Husky history, at least the most important one!!
That’s the worst feeling. It’s what separates great teams from Championship-level. Consistency
Apple Cup 1982 was a pretty bad loss too, kept us out of a third straight Rose Bowl.
UW had a pretty good roster in those days
One dislike. Todd Marinovich?
Brett Collins
Glencoe High School alumni.
Roll Tide
Ricky Baker was supposed to be on that team smh 😢
