For a span of 5-7 years, Chad Johnson was unguardable and probably the most feared receiver during that time. He is certainly underrated in the grand scheme of things, he was just unlucky at times. Bad teams, QB injuries, and off field issues really hurt his case as a hall of famer. He really was better than a LOT of guys in there and that are going to be in HOF. Shame

I remember when he was involved in like 90% of the Bengals off, and Marvin Lewis said in an interveiw he refused to call plays that invovled Chad the whole season. Needless to say that was a bad yr for the team. To this day it makes 0 sense to me, that you would refuse to use ur work horse on offense and then have a sh*t season but still keep ur job as a head coach. Then be praised by ownership on how great of a football coach u were, and keep ur job. Like either trade chad, or feed him at that point by not doing either u are doing ur team a disservice. I still think if Marvin Lewis pulled that f'ery anywhere else other that cincy he would have been fired. Instead they kept him and the team was plagued with mediocrity for the most of Lewis's tenureship there. And really still do to this day.
