Leo's mischievous grin when he's doing exactly what you are telling him not to do is so cute! My memory of my kids doing the same thing around that age was that it was hard not to smile at the cuteness-the first twenty times, but it became a lot easier to look disapproving after that.
My dad built his first house in 1946 the “old school” way. Dad worked on tanks in the war and could do anything. I miss him.
My Dad grew up in that time between WWI & WWII in the wilderness areas of Wyoming and Nebraska. They did it all, he served in WWII. I miss him and my Mom so much!! Thanks for sharing I'm not sure why it helps but it does.
Yes, the older generation did almost anything. As the next generation came they did a little less and so on. All yhus new generation knows how to do is stare at a monitor and want be a gamer or influencer (whatever that is).
@@janmoline they earned the name greatest generation. They would be so sad with the attitude many have now. We didn’t have a lot but it was enough. He always gave back and then some. He was the handyman for all the elderly ladies at church.
We don't have men like them now a days.
Same with my grandpop, he built the house my mom lived in then a beach house years later. He was in the merchant Marines and could fix anything. I tell my boys to watch my husband fix our things. Saves $.
9:44... B: "This is really heavy, so whatever we're doing, let's do it!" A rare time that he has sounded exasperated waiting for the vlog commentary on camera 😁 🥰
Here's a couple tips to save you some time with the ratfers.... Use the first properly cut rafter as a jig for the rest. Trace the rafter on the new board, just make sure you cut off your pencil lines. You can also mark the rafter placement on the ledger plate, like when you lay out stud placement on your sill plates... you can then line up one side of your hangers with the marks, nail that side, and youll have hangers in place to set the rafters on. Then you can nail up the other sides of the hangers as you go.
I came here to make this exact suggestion... great advice 👍
As Trent used to say when building the house-it is a hair out of square!!!
I thought that was the standard method
Leo is the STAR, that baby giggle...absolutely precious...good job mom and dad, balancing construction and parenting. I love your channel ❤
The babies always steal the spotlight from their parents. It’s happened on every CZcams channel I watch before/after baby.
Loved this one! You guys work so hard and it looks great! I love that Brandon is talking in the videos, he's such an important part of the work; what a good guy. And Leo just keeps getting cuter all the time with all those teeth and that great smile! And of course, Trent and Allie, you're the best too. Thanks for sharing this with us, have a good week. (from Sandi)
It’s the best when you wake up in the middle of the night & can’t go back to sleep & find a Trent & Allie video to watch. 😊
I am always amazed st how productive you three are, and a bit terrified of your ladder work. Please be careful, one fall can set you back years. Part of long term efficiency is to be be healthy for tomorrow. Take a little extra time for the sketchy things.
I think every mom has been through the dropping food from the high chair with a smile, frustration!🤗 que the dogs.
Thank you for the moments with your precious Leo!
Allie, let me complement you and the production values of your videos. The visuals coupled with the music is amazing. You've come so far and it's very noticeable and appreciated.
Totally agree!
I couldn’t agree more! She’s Amazing 🤩
Frank needs a little coat for winter. Then he can be outside and playing, just watch the paws 💗😊🐾
Good afternoon from "The Land of the Waxhaws", NC. You should be winning rewards for your videos. I love your beginnings and how you move the narrative along. You guys are getting very good - the best of the best in video making. I would nominate you for a "Video Oscar".
In the early 1960's my dad built us a 2 story A frame play house, half scale of a normal house. I remember watching him every step of the way. He even let me nail the framing around the window's. One of my favorite childhood memories. You guys are doing a great job.
My day was made by your sharing of Leo's little grin and his chuckle after your "scold!" What a joy!
Off by a 1/4 inch? It's just a hair out of square! You are doing a great job friends - never doubt it.
Leo is so stinking cute!!
I believe you are all very brave and intelligent. You always get everything figured out just fine. This will be no different. The baby is so sweet and getting big . Thank you for sharing your life with me.
Love your videos and truly look forward to seeing what you are doing in each video. Leo is adorable and it's great to see him blazing his own trail. That look of mischief as he tossed the food in the floor, priceless!! Good bless you all! Happy Holidays!!! Looking forward to seeing all the fun.
Friendly guys building the old school way, baby leo being mischievious, lovely Allie narrating and cameraing...Yay
Hello 🎄you should set another layer of plastic on the garage doors and windows at the inside side and creat an air barrier so you won’t loose much heat. God bless you 👋 I hope you are having a great day 😃
Already suggested..great minds
Lose not loose
Good suggestion.
Another way to make the Birds mouth is to cut the end piece off first , sit the board on top of the wall and use your square to draw the birds mouth using the wall and you should come out with a perfect birds mouth.❤❤❤❤
Glad to hear Trent is using ear protection. My husband has lost too much of his hearing from not consistently using ear protection during all of our house and landscape construction.
Omg little Leo is so adorable it was cute when you picked him up went by Trent and suddenly quite, like he knows he’s on camera. It’s looking so good I am excited to see the finished results.💜
Leo, he is so adorable. Mom, you have a beautiful little boy. Leo looking at you and tossing the food on the floor was hilarious. Trent with the dad jokes, too funny. Pregnant nose is real, I smelled peaches and watermelon all winter long.
Frank's living his best life. Leo's laugh is contagious.
Chocolate covered Orange Sticks are such a happy Christmas memory for me. They were in my stocking every year as a kid.. My sister got the raspberry.
I am with Brandon on the chocolate covered orange sticks. Dark chocolate my favorite. A few years ago at Christmas I found chocolate covered cherry sticks. They were wonderful.
Great work!! So glad nobody got hurt!!! Continued prayers and love for you all!❤
It'll be awhile before I watch this one but I just want to let you know that I am following along in order from the beginning (I am currently "in the jungle" with you and you are about to head to Guatemala). I very much enjoy it all. Thanks for taking us along with your life!
Absolutely awesome videos aren't they? Their lives prior to this were INCREDIBLE, if anyone else missed the earlier ones, and wants to see their travels thru' Central and South America, even getting stuck in South America when the pandemic struck.
What fun! I get excited when I am offgrid for a couple weeks and get to binge four episodes.
My dad built our first home with just one friend. That was in the early 60’s. We started with living in the basement while he built the rest. He was a wonderful carpenter, could build anything. Miss him so much🥰
Literally just watched Dave Whipple of Bushcraft making several lil cabins.... making birdmouth cuts. He made it so easy
You achieved so much doing the framing, working when it is so cold take a lot more time than when it is warm.
Best wishes from Mike. ❤
I'm so glad you always put in that Beautiful son of yours in your videos. He has grown so fast and I just have to say he's so Cute. Thank you for always bringing us into your life. I enjoy watching him grow up. Happy Holidays to all three of you guys.
Allie has the same problem I have when trying to be stern with my youngin, end up giggling a little. Songs for Littles is also a staple in my household.
I get so excited seeing a new video pop up from you all. I also have a little Grandma panic attack watching Trent and Brandon balancing on those ladders and boards. Lol !
Allie, I've been wondering if Leo and Luce get to see each other on video chats with Luca and Sara ? I think that would be such cute footage if they do !
Sending my love, hugs and prayers from a Kansas, soon to be Great Grandma 👵 🙏❤
Leo laughing!🥰 Looked just like Trent.
I love the nature shots but watching little Leo makes my heart sing!
Dark Chocolate orange sticks are a Christmas family tradition at our house. Along with Lutefisk and lefsa.
I just love watching you guys while I get ready for the day 🌄❣️
Seeing your little one Leo as he goes about his day is just adorable. Thank you so much for the toothbrush information. I am getting one for us. You and Trent are honestly amazing at how much you both do.
My great nieces and nephews watch Miss Rachel, too! I saw her on your TV toward the end of today's video. Beautiful blue skies to be outdoors and investing in "sweat equity" on the garage. Great work ... all of you. Leo is so darn cute, too!
I stumbled onto your show the day the crane dropped I think was a joist on your roof. I’ve never missed a show since then. Hey I’m a Trent & Allie Groupie.
Seriously though, I’ve loved going on your journey together with the house and the birth of your son who looks just like both of you. You guys are very lucky to have found each other. I’m a grandfather now and so much is in my rear view mirror. The Best is still ahead of you. Just a suggestion…..Never go to be mad! Never💜
Love seeing all the progress you're making
I love all your pups! Frank ,Lika, & Leo… soooo cute & smart! ALL of them❤❤❤
Just love you guys soooo much ! Trent and Bradon what a team ~ and Allie your are a Angel in work overhauls . Leo is testing you with the food drops on the floor and he’s loving it 😂 GOD bless you all !❤
Trent, Allie and Leo. Thank you for a great year of viewing your fun adventures and projects. Just wanted to wish you a great festive season for you guys, family and friends.🎄🎅
You and Brandon are doing a great job with your garage! Very impressed!
That time lapse of the rafters going up and Leo’s hugging Lika then sprinting across the floor with his walker was the highlights for me…great editing Allie ….
A bunch of your Videos from a year ago are coming up in my CZcams feed the last couple days! I mean a lot of them too! They say a year ago but has to be a little longer than that because these are mostly winter ones and obviously it’s Summer right now. However this is a good prospective of how much y’all have done since this Video! You were just adding the sides of the Garage, the house addition was many many months away 😇
i would have cut the ends of the rafters so they are true vertical. Then the fascia would be vertical as well. Much easier to hang eaves trough
Great progress guys and would give you a warning about using a comforter on the porch, my wife got her foot tangled up in one on our porch and fell and broke her leg
Get Frank a Big Barker
Did a meteor appear, passing from the upper right of the screen downward against the extra-dark blue sky at about 10:17 in your video? Pretty cool!
Allie Good choice on Music! perfect 😂 for this video good job guys and Leo cracks me up actually he's early development with baby challenging humor! thanks for sharing...I hope Leo knows who The count is ♥
LOVE you guy's!
Lol! Leo 🌞😂😂 walking and feeding the dogs.💞
I vote for the rockwall.
Leo would love it and Joel could teach him, a good bonding time for the two of them
And the music and snow pic after the toothbrush sponsor blurb!!! 😍😍😍
Once you get the garage building done, you should make a indoor walkway/hallway from the house to the garage. That would be really cool!!! Although, more building. Just a thought.
💗🙏💗👶💗🙏💗
⭐MERRY CHRISTMAS⭐
Merry Christmas to all and to all, a good life💞
🤍I can’t believe how fast you’re building that side of the garage you guys are amazing.❄️⛄️❄️
I love the chocolate jelly orange sticks. They come in other flavors, but orange is the original. I don't think it tastes like gummies. Softer, too. They also have it in a round ball shape that pulls apart like sections of an orange. There are many brands too, some better than others. Now, I'm off to order milk and dark chocolate jelly orange sticks! 😍❤️
Love taking this trip with you!
Bad ass editing! Love the music, views, family life and friendship!
Hi guys! I love the fact that your garage build, at least, is made by Canadian wood! Those are stamped “made in Canada”. Yaaay🎉❤️
Hi guy's....what a great job.... coming along nicely...me by. Great team.. Leo....oh my goodness 😍. That cheeky smile..xx .just some adorable and the little chuckles....😅😉...I can her Allie in the background... laughing while saying no....I do the same to my granddaughter....and she laughs back...but they re so cute. X see you on the next one Adios...👍😊
Idk how you guys do it in the snow like that.... Great progress. Keep that energy up. 💜 You guys
Awesome guys!!! You'll have this finished before the next snowfall!!! Have to say my heart did a flip when I saw a brief shot of the ski slopes across the way! I used to ski (many years ago) and miss it terribly!!! Thanks for sharing your lives and adventures with us!!! Wishing you blessings and safety!!
I'm with Brandon! Probably my favorite...especially the dark chocolate. Tell him to try the chocolate oranges they have this time of year.
Dark chocolate orange sticks are THE BEST!!!!
Love the orange jelly covered in dark chocolate!
I really enjoy watching you guys . And Leo is getting big and becoming very vocal . I love the way your beautiful bride takes care of you and Brandon with drinks and snacks . She is a precious doll . You and Brandon are kicking some major butt getting done with only the two of you . Great job to everyone .
GOD BLESS YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY 😘🥰💕😍🙏🙏🙏
I like Allie's suggestion that you roof the lean to with glass or triple wall greenhouse plastic. What a great light space that would be!
Love seeing Leo laughing and walking around, he's adorable 😍 The views around your home are gorgeous 😍 Awesome job yall 👏🏻 ❤️
That is one fantastic construction you’ve done there! You should all be well pleased with what you have achieved in those conditions!! 🏡🏠❤️👍👏🇬🇧
I love them too. Orange sticks. Traditional and (I think) European. Yum! And I'm not even a grandmother.
Omgosh I’ve literally been binge watching & trying to catch up on all your episodes that I’ve missed. I’ve been dealing with many health issues, & unfortunate circumstances called life. I’ve not had internet in my location for many months so, I’m now in a different state & things are starting to look up. I was so happy & excited to see how things have progressed in your lives. Leo has grown so much & of course we love Brandon! I love y’all & have enjoyed your content since y’all started Van Life. I’m Super Proud of y’all!!! Merry Christmas & God Bless y’all. I’m so happy to be back online. Okay back to finish catching up. 🤗🤗🙏
I think you all make an amazing team:Trent, Allie, Brandon & Leo!. You're making great progress even through all of the weather issues! Allie your videography is amazing! Not only that but your encouragement to the team is really very nurturing! I love your videos so much! Happy Holidays to you & to all of your followers. We are all so lucky to be able to invite you into our lives every week. Have you ever wondered what the value of your homestead will be when you're finished & what you will have spent in materials. May God be with you & your followers this Holiday Season! With Love from Roger in Seattle.
I love your energy! It amazes me how much you all get done!! WOW!
Had some stuff going on and have missed quite a few installments. Good to be back, thanks for the content.
You and Brandon did a really good job on getting the addition. Allie and Leo are the supervisors. Stay safe and warm and dry
OMG, when Brandon was maneuvering the sheating for the front of the garage, I literally felt my newly diagnosed torn rotator cuff start hurting. I have to have both my shoulders replaced next year. I just got an cortisone injection in one to help me get through to be winter. Talk about a physical reaction.... Lol
Whaaa😂 is that board a hair out of square??🤭😃
WHAAA was that an asteroid at 10:18 🤯🤓😃😆 yes... EPIC !!
I am so glad you guys are going to have a garage area dried in soon. It will be a wonderful convenience. I hope and pray the weather holds out.
Have a wonderful day can't wait to see when the side is done you guys are doing a good job all of you and have a nice week
Great video, making a lot of progress, it will be done in no time. Looking great! Enjoy watching your videos! Leo sure is getting big and cute! Love your dogs too!
How interesting it is the song you bring into the video moments, they sure are the best...kkkk...we fly into your emotions with the songs...plus the nice weather that allows to move on into the goals and getting the roof done ✅ it looks pretty cool... but to be honest watching your videos is really making me feel in anguish....I moved out of Utah against my will ...I miss it so much...kkk...but loving your many videos around my loving areas 🤗 not to forget saying how cute and smart your little boy is looking like his dad...wow...amazing how so very similar in all he is...kkk... and it will be so cool seeing them both in their many moments.
Yeah but you guys are doing an amazing job!! I can’t believe how much progress has happened nn that garage will be up in no time!!
Scenic shots were fire on this one! Beautiful! And I love Frank sooo much! Get him a cute fleece vest! It'll keep hi'm nice and cozy
How are your moose friends? With your snow loads, don't you need to put in bridging between the rafters? Even if you don't need them, you should consider using up your scrap for bridging as it makes for a much stiffer roof.
So glad too se you guys Friday and all your family if you share like always tanks you sending love your way ,nice déco ,nice looking additions on de garage
Orange sticks are the best! They remind me of my grandpa. He always had them at Christmastime even during WWII when nobody had chocolate except those in the military.
Trent your hangers should go on the wall so you just set the rafter in it so you’re not trying to hold and nail at the same time. 😂
too easy, next you'll suggest to use a nail gun that actually shoots the nail completely into the wood =)
I love chocolate covered orange sticks, and raspberry sticks - especially dark chocolate ones!
We were in SLC over the weekend for my grandson’s volleyball tournament. The view from the airport of your mountains yesterday in the late afternoon sun was spectacular!! Truly God’s Country!!
Leo is adorable 🥰. He is going to be such a ham!!!
Leo messing you about and when you said no he laughed and so did I. he is a great little fella. Trent and Brandon have been so busy with the roof beams and the sheathing it is looking great and soon you will have the roof sheathing on and be sheltered from the rain or snow.
Are you planning on putting on your roof right after you finish framing both additions to the garage? The zip system sheathing has a 6 month exposure rating, so keep that in mind. With the snowfall in your area, the exposure life span may be even less.
A chocolate covered anything sounds good! I love those “orange fingers” and they remind me of a restaurant my grandfather used to take us to where they had those at the check out counter. Yum! I can eat a whole box myself in one sitting.
Those rafters look great glad you got it all done so fast Have a great day
You guys are the most hard working people out there 👏
Love you all!
Leo has grown so and is the cutest....!!!Great job guys...Trent & Brandon you rock!
