- Today, in Iqaluit, we got 4 hours and 20 minutes of daylight but as you can see we also had a blizzard. Blizzards here on Baffin Island are not usually about a lot of snow; they are usually smaller amounts of snow (5-10 cm) but with epic winds. Today we had gusts upwards of 80kph. This went on for 7 hours non stop. The point of this video being on the noisy side is for you to 'hear' the Arctic wind. I've included subtitles for your viewing pleasure. Many Solstice blessings to you!
Nunavut means "our land" in Inuktitut, the language spoken by many Inuit in Canada. I am enjoying my time living and working on the Nunavut Land Claim among Inuit. What an honour and a privilege!
Created on April 1st 1999, Nunavut is Canada's newest territory. It was established by the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement Act. Located in the northeastern arctic of Canada, the territory covers an area of 2,038,722 km² with a land mass of 1,877,787 km². It is bordered by Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba to the south. to the west is the Northwest Territories.

That bird casually flying in the storm :O
One could have an entire channel dedicated to the ravens here!
Wow
Wow that's epic!
Hard to believe that 1 powerful Noreaster here in NJ in January can look like that!
I believe it is due to the fact that there is very little to block the Arctic wind, so it can travel for hundreds or thousands of miles. By the time it hits land, there are no trees, just some hills and buildings - so it lands hard! Thanks for watching and for your comment :)
Enjoyed seeing the cold & snow.
Hope things are going well for you, take care...
Thank you, Dave. So far so good :) Days are getting longer!! Sending good vibes your way.
Such extreme weather conditions are difficult and scary........but want to experience it ✌
😳 oh my word 🥶
Shot a new video about winter in iqaluit, it is very interesting.
That was the first real snow of the season. When I flew out a week earlier there was almost nothing on the ground and I hadn't seen a snowmobile track in town yet. This year we had a worse blizzard on October 28th.
Yes, intense with super high snow banks. High winds AND lots of snow - deadly combination. Snowmobiling season comes early, eh?
You kept leaving your door open!
It's so dry up here - I guess I'm just letting some moisture in LOL
MONSTER!!!!
I want come to you
For a blizzard? Look at flights to Iqaluit online :) LOL I am leaving soon.
Hi man im from montreal and want to try a fly in fly out work mode i have cook diploma but didnt work too much with it and security agent card you think i can find something
Perhaps @Glorytogod2. The issue is housing. So for any job to work out, that is the main question to ask. I don't know any more about that situation.
Not a good day for wandering very far if you don't have to.
You are spot on, annoyed707! Could barely get in from the back yard lol
Dude close your door
Hahaha! It's a dry cold, Will Korslick. I am just letting some moist air into my dry place 🤣
