I have the utmost respect for the original, but this is hands down my favorite predator movie. The predator looked amazing. Amber and Dakota absolutely killed it as well. Definitely a female lead done right

There are many tribes that are Matriarchal.
I’m part Cherokee and we have 7 clans.
Mine is Matriarchal. So Amber doing what she’s doing in the movie is cool.
Although I lack knowledge on the Comanche tribe and it’s social structure.
We need more Native Indian representation. This movie proves that representation matters and works. It gave the movie a whole lot more depth and realism

Love Prey. Thrills, chills, and action. And the acting is great. The casting was perfect.

@@demetriskatsianis2396 the truth is that as physically powerful as Dutch was, he still didn’t defeat the Predator until he got primal and devised a plan to booby trap his enemy. Naru defeated the feral the same way. I think size and physical strength aren’t the most important trait when fighting a Predator. It’s knowing how the Predator hunts and then out witting him.
@@policy-of-truth4085 Well, now that we have both watched the film, I can say that nothing could have prepared me for the frustration and disappointment I got while watching it...So, you say that Naru devised a plan and used no physical strength to defeat the Predator? Because, leaving aside her devising the most stupid plan I have seen in a movie for a loooong time, I remember her chopping off the Predator's arm, jumping on it's shoulders and stabbing it everywhere, tearing of it's mandible (!!) with her bare hand (!!!) and using it to stab it in the eye (!!!!), roping it's neck and then dragging it as if it was a plastic doll into the mud lake...! Like, suddenly, she acquired superhuman strength and Ninja like fighting skills! Those of you who say that she used her brains to defeat the Predator probably watched another movie...She OWNED him in the physical battle!!! By the time she applied her "master plan", the Predator had already been massacred by means of raw, brutal physical strength and exceptional fighting skills... I mean, I might have commented in my first comment that the Predator will get massacred, but I wasn't expecting that: he LITTERALY got massacred!!! Chopped into pieces by the little girl!!! This movie was a disgrace! A solid 0/10 from me.
Man it sucks how burnt most of us have become from Hollywood and their CW style pushing.. Because coming from other videos, there is so much toxic hate about the lead being female and calling this movie woke. But from what I've seen from legit sources like AVPGalaxy that this movie is the real deal. I just hope this movie doesn't get an unfair go because peoples hate has gone too far. I myself am pumped for this. Apparently its got a cool story arch for the main character and also a killer score.
Love to see how they sell it. Native American no matter the sex would be a wipeout in context. Granted, Schwarzenegger defeated it with no modern weapons, only after taking a beaten to the likes of a ragdoll, which was the point, he barely survived, because he was a beast. Love Predator, don't care who's fighting it, but make it make sense.
If the movie is really good, word of mouth, Rotten Tomato reviews and such will help get it past the initial cynicism. I have to admit I was skeptical too. Now I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
Basically all movies post 2010 where the cast is not white or where the hero or the deuteragonist is a woman suffer from this before their release. There were Mad Max Fury Road, James Bond, Wonder Woman, Black Panther 1 and 2, Eternals, Lara Croft, the new Watchmen series, The Boys, Ms Marvel, ect... If the old Predator 1 and 2 were released today, they will be accused of wokeness because of their diverse cast, same with Alien by the same mob that doesn't care about the sagas but uses it anyway to push their agenda while they say anything against the overused Viking/European Middle Ages/Ancient Rome/Spartian movies and tv shows with male leads.
This isn't woke. I get annoyed with shows/movies that try and push an agenda down our throats with poor writing that assumes its audience to be stupid. But this movie is far from it. The main actress is a badass. And she doesn't just magically become a badass. She has vulnerabilities as well and has an endearing quality to her which makes the moments when she's a total badass feel all the more good! I would go as far as to say that I prefer her character over Arnold's. Now don't get me wrong. The first movie will always be the best for me. But just the way Amber's character arc goes in the film, it made me like her a lot. It's a coming of age movie with the predator in it. I loved it a lot! 8.5/10 for me! Hope it gets its own sequel!
@@aks19880 Yeah I just got done watching it. Amber Midthunder was defs a badass, and not in a CW Batwoman style "I am woman. Hear me roar" kinda way. Predator was a beast and he had to take a shit tonne of damage from other factors to make it believable so I am glad they did that. If I was to write the movie slightly differently, I would write it to be a Predator somewhat feral and not too keen on following the honour code, much like the Yautja who are outcasted for completely disregarding the code.. and the pay off being the other preds come down and fuck him up, give a trophy and yeet back home. But how it played in the film was wicked anyway. We are defs gettin a Feudal Japan one next... I can feel it. They'd be crazy not to.

And it deserves all the love. It's a love letter to the original movie and I absolutely loved Naru. She's a strong character with the vulnerabilities of a real human being. So it doesn't feel forced. I absolutely loved her performance. All the cast did a fabulous job but Amber really stood out with her performance. I wish this gets its own sequel.
Saw it yesterday and it is a joy to watch! Best since the original!
Please petition Disney, please publish Prey Predator 5 in 4K as UHD Bluray as home cinema. Such a great film belongs in 4K on the disc.

Looking forward to this one...on a by note..its being broadcast as the predator on Earth for the first time, as a main big budget film, but there is an independant predator film online called 'Dark Ages' with 15M views which is well worth watching with great acting, set hundreds of years before 'Prey' !

This was a long time coming and better than all the ones except the original. Give this man a bigger budget for the next Predator movie.

One of the best horror epic film in 2020s. Hoping to have more films with monster crossovers with historical settings. Basically, Prey is like Turok but without dinosaurs.
I would like to see a a well made Turok movie but I guess Turok has a very limited fan base.

Actually the movie should of made in the comanche home land. The lords of the southern plains. The tall grass lands of Oklahoma and Texas panhandle. Also known as the comanche empire and seroundings lands around the comanche territory. Kansas and New Mexico and parts of Colorado to.

Predator, Predator 2, Predators, and now Prey! I enjoyed all of these movies! The 2018 Predator is the only one that feels meh t to me. Even the 2004 AVP movie is better than that.

I saw the movie it was strong and enjoyed the work of the indigenous young cast. My question is the French sounded from Montréal Quebec my hometown is that true.. I have seen Amber Midthunder in the movie Ice Road 2021 she again played a strong character.
This was a terrific movie. When I saw the trailer for it awhile back. I thought they had just run out of ideas, so they just picked this as the subject this time around. The usual sequel or prequel b flick. Not at all the case. Great story, tremendous cast and this young lady does an amazing job in the lead. People are bound to call this woke, but they haven't figured out that using that term is not an insult to others with a much wider view of the world, but real just a presentation of how narrow their view of the world truly is.
Prey has become a masterpiece.

Ela não podia correr de um urso, visto que ela tinha i instinto de caçadora e, fica ali com medo atrás de um monte gravetos. Ela tinha que demonstrar força e coragem lutando cara a cara com o urso. Mesmo que não o matasse. Mas correr e se esconder foi ruim demais para uma atriz principal que vai enfrentar algo pior pela frente.
After "The Predator", I was worried that this would turn out to be shit, but it seems it's a pretty good Predator movie. I will watch it.
I'm really curious to see how this girl defeats the Predator, because I thought they would go the clichê way of the "women being superior" and simply smoking the Predator, but people says the final fight it's quite good and quite beliveable.
if Arnold can't fight it physically, no one can. it will have to be a battle of wits and grit.

The battle against Upgraded was so dumb, it completly negated all sense of danger he once possessed. The supposed most OP predator lost in the most basic way as possible, in a straight gunfight.
