It was a fairly big hit for Namco and one of the most beloved titles from the 1980-83 "golden age" of arcade games, so it was naturally a candidate for being ported to multiple platforms. I'm surprised it didn't get a ZX Spectrum port, but perhaps it didn't do as well in British arcades as in Japanese and North American arcades-or maybe someone made a clone that beat Atari and Namco to the punch.

I played a version of Dig Dug on a Stranger Things dedicated handheld console, it mostly tried to be like the original arcade game even though it was very low resolution.

The version I like best is the NEC PC-8001mkll version. I love the sounds. The only cost is the flickering sprites.

Dig dug in my opinion is very underrated and massively underserved in terms of the qualities of the remasters remakes and ports. nothing has beat the original arcade version which is a damn shame

    every dig dug version
16 the classic we all know and love
49 for a first port its pretty good
33 for the Atari its also pretty good
12 the music doesn't play right also the sprites look copied from Atari 2600's version
07 no words just WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS
55 atleast it has the arcade sprites
35 my fav in my opinion
15 uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
51 looks odd
49 the arcade version but with better sprites
31 Casio PV 1000 but shitty
11 NEC PC 8001 but a bit slower
06 did you even try?
47 dig dug is so slow the theme song plays before you can even start controlling taizo
35 good for the device its on
05 WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS
01 idk why but it kinda looks like the nes version
42 where's the freaking theme song
24 I love this version
03 Casio PV 1000 but with better music
41 another Atari great
16 idk why but I also like this one
48 nes but black and white
25 this isn't dig dug its a masterpiece
25 theme song is high pitched I don't know why
14 the arcade version but the sprites look a bit off
55 higher pitched theme song now
42 the only way people could play original dig dug in 1996
27 hey. Atleast there's multiplayer
04 just the arcade version with yet again high pitched theme song
42 someone took the nes version and shrunk the sprites in ms paint
24 where's the theme song
10 my second favorite
56 the previous one again
This comment took way too long
