Fast-moving brush fire near 5 Freeway in Gorman grows to 11,000 acres

- The "Post Fire" was first reported at around 1:48 p.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. By 3 p.m., it was over 500 acres. By 4:30 p.m., it was over 2,000 acres. By 6 p.m., it grew to over 3,600 acres and by 8:30 p.m., it was over 4,400 acres. As of 6 a.m. Sunday morning, the fire had grown to nearly 11,000 acres and was zero percent contained.

@@omi_god They have ratings, and if too many of their customers file claims, the rating get's lowered, and then mortgage companies won't accept them. That further hurts their bottom line. And the homeowners then have to pay exorbitant prices for insurance, sometimes from the company of the loan holder's choosing. And no, this is happening nationwide. People are losing homes over it even without claims, and insurance companies are only insuring in low risk areas. And there aren't many of those.

Gorman and California City are open desert motocross riding areas. There is nothing there but dirt. . No buildings , no humans except riders riding and / or camping the night. They went home so no one will be hurt and no homes will be burned. .Now it won't burn again this summer.
