A good choice since the Mach 1 is higher priced being brand new. Turnkey 650hp/tq is perfect for street. Your mustang gt would've lasted at 650hp but noooooo, you wanted to build a race car.....Your B.M.R suspension was perfect for street until you put the drag K-member on..... Loki is the street set-up that when paired with a killer-chiller will run all day strong in 90+ degree weather with zero heat soak BUT Noooooo, you chose level 3+ Odin with ice tank in pursuit of 1200+ @flywheel ....Stock A-10 will handle 650hp-750hp reliably . How can you push a product wayyy past its limits and then blame the product ??? Come on Zander? That's a perfect used car to purchase though ! Congratulations !!!!
.....that´s also my opinion - I sayed 2 years ago - Zander should let it be with e85 and exhaust and suspension and air intake mods. Everything o.k.!
But no, always trouble with the blower and all the extreme other stuff! You can modify a car to death....
A built coyote motor will handle 900wheel reliably
And 650wheel in a 3850lb car isnt enough. Now if it weighed 3k lbs then 650wheel is plenty.
@@rolexr these cars are fine boosted as well as long as you don’t push past around 800whp they’ll live pretty happy with some trans work for a very long time especially the 6R80 and the manual stuff if you do a Calimer trans or a T56. I think he just pushed that car way too hard.

No the ZL1 has the 10L90 better trans all the way around … sold mine a year back had 850 wheel and never had to touch the trans

Congratulations on your new ride. Looks like a great low mileage find, that was in your budget parameters. I love the color of the car, but I always liked the darker muted colors. It is much easier to fade into the crowd after a night of fun than a bright flashy car. I would keep this car stock or do mild moding like tint so you can have a reliable daily driver. You just got rid of a car that was always breaking down due to heavy modding. Do all your modding on that older mustang you were talking about. That way if it breaks down you are not out of a ride. Get a trailer for the pickup that can haul your project car that way you dont have to pay for towing if it breaks down on the track. Also it allows you to build a more crazy track monster that you dont have to worrie about it being street legal.

Ya have to go with what feels right and you can never go wrong with the 6th Gen ZL1. 650hp 650ft-lbs of torque, forged block, IRS, Magnetic Ride Control (yes, you can tune that too), tbh the whole thing is tunable right out of the box. You're going to love the Z, I have. Have to get the Borla X pipe to remove those pesky secondary Cats, then you'll get a growl like you would want from the car.

Love the new car! I had a Nightfall SS, traded it in ‘18 for a black ZL1. Only thing I miss is that color! Al Oppenheimer and his team did an amazing job designing and engineering the gen 6. Is that an AFR sensor on the dash? Check the fuel system for a flex fuel sensor,it may already be tuned for e85 or have an upgraded low or high side pump! The fuel system is a wall and will need upgrading if you are going after more power. But on the street, the setup you have is amazing already!! Great find!

I’d say it’s an upgrade. I own a 2020 mustang with a 10 speed and having test driven a 19 zl1 with a 10 speed the zl1 is so much smoother and more comfortable. Only knock I had was the visibility issue and the fact my insurance would skyrocket.

@@jpsantone not a step down if he is getting tired of fixing something new on the mustang in every video. The Camaro will be able to handle upgrades better because it comes from the factory with a stronger and more powerful engine and trans. More time racing and less time in the shop.

What's hilarious is I'm building a stroker version of that engine for my 67 Camaro, im in the process of choosing a 8L90 which with a 3600 stall and the new fluid is pretty bullet proof...OR just grabbing a connect and cruise 10l90 with warranty...the only difference is cooling and programming on them from the R...( well better clutches)......
I WAS gonna go for sure with 10L90 because that's what I miss the most about my mustang BUT same as you and many others couldn't keep the thing together....just went I said fck it the guy that bought my entire current combo out of the 67...drove up in a 2021 with a 10 speed truck and I asked him is it slow to engage P to R then R to D cold...then slip 2nd first few shifts and clunky into 3rd...harsh 4-5 and 5-4....3-1 on coast down....he was shocked everything I was tossing out HIS new truck was doing and what my car did....you know what it is...Valve Body...least that T87A trans computer can be cracked and I think reassigned.....
I'd really like some draggy hits and real comparisons cause I'm right NOW this week probably gonna pull trigger a LOT of parts....

I thought Ford and Chevy was a joint venture on the 10 speed transmission? What makes the Chevy trans different from the Ford trans?

Your mustang would have held up better if you backed down on the power but it was cool to watch you make the power. It made for good content.
Lmao I did the exact opposite of what you did. I had the zl1 with a 427 an had horrible trouble so now I have the 2020 pp1 401a 10 speed with boost. I love the 5.0 because I have way more room. An it’s Kate and Edith to lol. I use to say that until an old head told me what it really was lmao.
Have the same car on a local lot here for $64k and 2400 mi. Its a great track car ... prepare to spend money on fuel and tires. :)

I have an S197 GT that I love and I do love Mustangs but I am car guy. I love all sports cars not just one particular one. One of the best colours there is on the Z. Only colour the wheels suit without changing them. Just need to paint the calipers red and black out the side markers

But the ZL1 is no doubt a very nice car so congratulation Alex with it.
Now the 1LE version might be a bit more cool and more track ready if that is what you plan to do. But as a daily driven street car. I would think the base ZL1 and being automatic. Is something you might be more pleased with on a day to day basis. ( some say the Alpha chassis is quite a lot better then the S550 )
Now as for mods,
Isn't having a lumpy idle a must on these cars?
So I would get a nice cam, add bit more boost and a free flowing exhaust all combined with a nice tune. I am sure it will make easy 700 whp on 93. ( but has the Chevy 10r proven to be any stronger then the Ford version? )

Definitely a cam in the future and you are right. The 1le is more hard core but as a daily the regular one is better for most. That was my thought process
