      Living in a castle is pretty good for someone who couldn't play a solo. If he had been that kind of player, they probably wouldn't have sold as many records as they did.

    One of the BIG items is to note the size (or lack there of) of his drum kit! THIS probably says more about Charlie as a drummer than anything else. I had the pleasure of catching him with his "Big Band" a number of years ago and he NEVER took a solo and seemed to push every member of the band out into the spot light, while keeping himself in the background. Just a classy guy, who will be GREATLY missed in the musical world!

      Well not really, you just use a smaller kit to play jazz due to the tuning

    Tasty, tasty smooth brush work by Charlie. Shows the true depth of his ability on drum kit. Nobody will argue his iconic work with the Rolling Stones but his versatility at different genres of music is refreshing to see. He will be missed. RIP.

    Never saw this before. Bernard Fowler’s voice was silken. The quintet was on point and there was Charlie as always, in the background quietly anchoring the whole proceedings. Bless you, Charlie. Rest In Peace.

    A class act and Charlie was a REAL drummer who knew his place and didn´t need tons of cymbals and drums to prove it. A fantastic drummer and a true gentleman completely in my personal taste!

    only saw the Stones once, in 1994, but will always remember Mick introducing each of the band members...no lie, Charlies ovation was twice as long as anyone else's...Keith & Ronnie's receptions paled in comparison...anyone who loved that band knows Charlie was the backbone. Kind of amazing he's gone, yet Keith just keeps going and going and going, likely to outlive us all.

      The Rolling stones have lost a brother!!! As have we all, but my real love go's out to kieth,mick Ronnie and all the band past and present.
      He was one of lifes true Gentlmen, who seemed to be happy not haveing the big spot light moments but had alot of wise thoughts if you had tge time to really listen.RjIP Charlie

      Had the same experience (Voodoo Lounge Tour). Charlie's ovation was loud, long and heartfelt. I looked at my friend and said, "Excellent".

    I love seeing Pete King in fine form on alto saxophone - I remember buying the "Warm & Tender" album from a record shop when I was in Iowa, just to get out of the cold. - R.I.P Pete King and Charlie Watts.

    As much as Mick's voice and Keith's guitar, Charlie Watts's snare sound is the Rolling Stones. When Mick sings, 'It's only rock 'n' roll but I like it,' Charlie's in back showing you why! 🇧🇷

      Agree. I liked rock when I was a young man. My musical taste started to change to jazz as I was getting older. An album that impressed me a lot is "Charlie Parker with Strings".

    Best Charlie Watts story I've read: A drunk Mick Jagger was calling Watts hotel room to come join a party and asked him "Where's my drummer?" so Watts goes down to the party, opens the door, punches Jagger in the face and says "Don't ever call me your drummer again, you're my fucking singer."

      You missed the best part. Apparently Jagger Woke Charlie up. And Watts got out of bed, took a shower and shaved. Then shined his shows and picked the best clothes in his closet. Took a car to the hotel where Mick and Keith were, and as soon as Mick opened the door, Charlie suckered punch him and then said those lines..
      I like to think he was taking his time getting dressed up while thinking "I'm gonna F'ed him up..."

    I'm here for Chatlie. But that singer's voice is really good, the band too. The sound is something new for me.
