- I thought I should make this video as the old mods are fading away because many were hosted on third party websites which only store the files/mods for a limited time. Join me as we head back to 2009 and rediscover what Farming Simulator 2009 was like!

I remember when I came home from school and there was FS09 on my desk. I was the happiest child on earth. :)

Bagobert Buck I remember when my brother tryed introduce me to mods, i was a bit stupid then, thought that mod is completely another game, until he showed me 1 of the mods, i guess it was old MTZ tractor xD Then i understood what mod is. I think i was like 6-8 i don't remember

The game has definitely come a long way, since 2008. I have been playing FS, since 08, and i'm looking forward to FS 19.

I Started At Fs08 And I Still Play It Today
one thing I definitly miss from the older FS games is the old starting machines, it would be awesome if in FS19 we started in a small old farm with small fields and older machine, maybe taking advantage of the Zetor, FIAT or FORD mods, and then we could buy a a bigger farm with bigger storage buildings and bigger fields around it, like starting as a small farmer and moving to large scale farming
Armando Rodrigues i agree beacuse some maps you start with new machines and I feel like its unrealistic and some are big machines aswell and that wouldn't happen I want to start from scratch maybe have a small budget no machines and u have to buy everything u need
right now it might look like they are copying «Farmer's Dynasty» but in truth FS did the same long ago
it would be great if they did it and also added having to buy, or at least expand, the areas for raising the animals, IRL sheeps don't need much (somewhere to sleep + a large field) and we could start with it but a small farm wouldn't be able to raise many pigs or cows, that is why we should also need to buy new areas or expand whatever we start with
I started playing with FS15 and fairly quickly homed in on your channel as a great way to find out what you could do in the game. I don't know if I'd have got hooked if I'd discovered it this early on, but I have to say, we've come a long way. Thanks to you and all the modders for your hard work and dedication. :D

Indeed, he's still making good quality mods, just wish with his new massey pack that they all had the full list of options lol
It's interesting to see how far the graphics and game mechanics have come. I bet 19 will push things even further.

Peter J is a great example of a veteran modder. I remember using the MF 240 pack in fs 2011, I was so happy to see them back in fs17. Shame the equipment wasn't remade.
I think it is a great video. Love seeing the difference between fs09 and fs17. Never played any of the early version of fs but I play fs17.. great job as always daggerwin.
FS09 doesn't look all that bad for a 10-year old game :) (but compared to FS17 its pretty much almost eye-cancer) xD

Thank you Daggerwin, I never played fs09. I started with fs15 and really fs09 don't look that bad even now. A big Thank you for the respect that you show for our modders. Like you said I'm not a youtuber so it's hard for me to tell them Thanks for all they do for us.
Watching this now again brings back so many memories. Bach then I too played with so many mods, would love to revisit it, an archive with the mods would be nice.
Probably I spent even more time playing 09 than the 11, at least I have the feeling that's the case

FS15 was my very first farming sim, then FS17. I found FS 2011 and bought it and I had fun with it as well. I am looking forward to FS19. I am collecting other farm games as well and they are fun also but I am an FS man myself. Thank you Daggerwin for all your videos, I enjoy every one the same.

Brilliant video! My first farming simulator experience was with 2011 then I skipped 2013 and waited for 2015 and now I have 2017 platinum 😀 really excited about 2019! Can't wait!!😁😉
Nostalgia. i remember playing this on my grandpas computer. i didnt really do much farming, just explored. it was a fantastic experience
I own every Farming Simulator except 08 on disc. It's nice to see this game again, and compare it to how far we've come with FS17. I very much hope that the graphical fidelity of FS19 is much improved like promised by GIANTS! Hoping for a crop draw distance large enough to not be able to see them disappear in the not-so-far-off-distance ;)

This graphics are good and the thumbnail caught my eye
This game was way ahead of its time in 2009.
Now comparing this to fs19, my god, how the game has changed in 10 years. FS13 was my first experience with the series and I bloody loved it. Been hooked on the games since, a lot of fond memories mowing grass.
The game was auctally my younger brothers and he'd always get annoyed to find me on it when he wanted to play and he'd go get mum to make me give him a go. Mum ended up getting me and my other brother a copy because she was tired of the fighting over it. We were kinda dumb kids.

Daggerwin, this was great. I never played this version, only 2013 and 17, so this was very interesting to me. Are you planing on doing something similar on 2011 and 2013? I would really enjoy that! As always thanks for the video!
Yes I am planning on doing this style video for 09, 11 and 13...I only wish I could do it for 08 but sadly all the mods have gone forever :(

Lol I remember back when I play FS13 demo then begged my dad for FS13 full then two years later got FS15 and then got FS17 so I’ve played for a while. Great game.
my first fs experiense was fs 11 but when joy jumped in the combine i got goosebumps it´s the exact same sound as fs11 it´s the memories is´nt it

My advice: Get all the 100 bottles, install the haybale mod. Plant corn by the port, barley by the mill and canola everywhere else . Only sell produce when price is high. My record prices were 4414 for barley, 5285 for Canola and 2688 for corn.

Steering wheel support in 09 from the beginning... pure farming 2018 hasn't even got that 😒😒😒😒 in all seriousness I need to reinstall 09, that's where my childhood is. I love this game.

Hay bale glitches were the most hilarious parts of the old farming simulator games.
I remember using some JDs and them being so loud, so that when I snuck on the family computer after bedtime, my mum would end up hearing them when I first started the game.

Yeah its such a shame that these mods a dissapearing.In their days it was a hard thing to figure out how to even install a mod :D and now i make them.
The only FS I’ve ever played is 17 but I am looking forward to 19 and I think it is fun to see how fs09 worked. I will say 25 mph baling is a bit excessive and the 46 mph ford but it looks like an ok game

We have come a long way
Back then this game was revolutionary. Before this i had Simtractor and John Deere green farmer.
Sadly we are losing a few modders as giants rating system is prone to trolls and it annoys the modders like cd models sadly but hopefully he comes back and creates even more amazing mods and hopefully giants make it so to rate a mod maybe you have to have installed it

you should get the gold edition DLC for FS 09 you can still buy and download it. will you do a lets play of every previous game before FS19 come out
I don't really like how none of the FS 2009 mods were archived on the official website. many mods originated from FS09, or were based on FS09 mods. (I still love all the mods still available)

All these mods are now gone for good, as well as the best mod website FS-UK.
Even with modhub by giants existing, it's biggest con (which the official farming simulator website also has) is planned obselescence.
I remember playing on my grandmas laptop and when combining i would make the camera go from the top dow for better fps
I wish u would se all the Norwegian fs 09, 11, 13, mods they were so good. I actuoly do play fs13 now.

Great video Dagger! What do you think about doing an Italian serie on the De Terra Italica map? I say you this because 2 days ago it was updated to v2 and now is playable... please do that, it's an awesome map, really nice and those hills are very interesting.... thanks. If you want I suggest you some proper Italian machinery ;)
Try loging mods and map if you can and say your thouts because this game fore me has a lot of good memories and moding scene hase been fun
