How I love the way Allen greets the TV-wievers by stopping for few seconds. That makes me to feel welcoming to watch the show.
for some reason that reminds me of CP3O.
No question that Lawford is the best!
Totally agree
Yes, Peter was really good but Carol left alot to be desired.
Agree. Great smile too.
I laughed out loud when Peter said it couldn't be...glory. I knew he'd get it! Carol flirting with Peter was too cute!
Carol is still alive and so many others are gone .
I often wonder about people who live so long: don't they get lonely? All their friends have passed on.
Yes, we do get lonely!
Around 5:40 Peter gets away with two words "Brussels sprout".
Oh geez, Carol gives all kinds of multi-word clues in the last lightning round. 😁
Lightning round rules are different.
@@chadkincham What are the lightning round rules?
How did that guy not get 'pitch' from all the baseball clues Peter gave him. Peter is British and knew more about the sport than he did. Lol.
He’s from Boston!
Dear Lord it was painful
Not everyone is a baseball fan. I don't think it's the first word I would have thought of.
He did get it in the end

It’s such a joy watching Carol play Password. She’s my favorite by far. #CarolBurnett
my womanplayer is Betty white ilove her verymuch
@@buxtonrankine4695
She has an unfair advantage. She's married to the host.
@@PvblivsAelivs is that really an advantage? She either gives a good clue or she doesn’t, her partner either guesses correctly or doesn’t. Allen doesn’t influence that.
...Carol...What a Sweetheart for all time!!!...
ive hunted but not found the one where peter set the record, alas.
I liked a lot of TV game shows during the 1964-1979 era, of which I was a child and teen during. My brothers and I would watch these during summer or if we had the flu during school season.I always loved that man's voice who spoke each word as it appeared on screen, he sounded relaxing.I liked Password Plus, but can't recall what the plus referred to.The relaxing voice wasn't on that version.I thought Liars Club was educational, you could learn about odd items. Many of those old game shows were good...Price is Right (I remember grouchy Dennis James), original Let's Make a Deal, Newlywed Game, Hollywood Squares, What's my Line, Card Sharks, Name that tune, Gong Show, Family Feud, Truth or Consequences, Match Game, etc. Those I listed I refer to the originals, from before 1979, not the remakes.Dick Clark's 25,000 Pyramid was good, Klinger was on it several times. He was very sharp.Alot of the classic TV stars were on those original games.Alan Ludden was one of the best game hosts, as was Bert Convy, Bob Barker, and Dick Clark. What's funny but simplistically pleasant is seeing the prizes from back then. And many of the female contestants are housewives.
Excelent, just Excelent Password, Burnett and Lawford the best couple ,thanks, 25.7.22
I hate it when celebrities ham it up and lose time and money for the player.
Me, too. The game is to help contestants win money, but celebrities are . . . celebrities and want attention! 😂
I recently discovered that more episodes of Password can now be seen on You Tube, and maybe all of them that did appear on GSN long after CBS had them first now can be observed again! This is just one of over 300 existing Password shows from the CBS series--1962 to 1967. (Also existing are the few programs from ABC Password, and many of Password Plus and Super Password--after Allen Ludden's passing in 1981.)
Next to What's My Line this is my fave games how of the 60s! I'm glad there are more to look at.
Career wise, this was pretty much Carol's lowest ebb. She'd become a star from the Gary Moore Show but her career was floundering at this point. In the fall of '67 (about three months after this episode) she debuted her variety show & the rest is history.
She was NOT "floundering". She loved playing Password and was keeping her visibility. In addition, she was supporting herself and preparing for her series while maintaining her popularity. If that's "floundering", then everyone should be so lucky. Password was NOT a "low ebb", it was a highly entertaining program which demanded calculated strategy and keen knowledge.
@@jasonbeard4713 dude, calm down
@@lynnturman8157 I call them as I see them; you are incorrect.
@@jasonbeard4713 I've heard her say in interviews that this was a low ebb (the time between Gary Moore and her own show). So let's just agree to disagree. We both love Carol so let's just leave it at that.
@lynnturman8157 The TIME may have been low for her, but APPEARING on Password was never a low ebb. Pray tell WHY then did she state that her favorite game show was Password? She also appeared on PW in 1962, 1971, and I am sure many other times.
broadcast the day I was born
He should have said frog for croak. He lost her that fifty bucks.
yes I thought bullfrog followed by death
Agree.
Burnett and Lawford were the dynamic duo of Password!
Peter gestured “pitching” more than once and gave double words in the lightening round.
And his toupee never flinched.
Thank you so much for uploading this!! Is the segment where Peter Lawford set the all time lightning round uploaded? I haven’t seen it thus far amongst the segments uploaded. GREAT game show!
rockaway2k...I hope I’m remembering correctly, but I believe Peter Lawford set the lightening round record on a show from the early sixties. Somewhere between 61 & 63.
Elaine Sunstrum I believe he first appeared in 63. I don’t know if he was on Password in 1962. I wish the episode was uploaded.
rockaway2k.....One thing just occurred to me. Peter lawford might have set the record during a daytime episode and unfortunately none of the early daytime shows are posted. At least not that I know of.
Elaine Sunstrum Good deduction and a likely conclusion to the issue. Thanks for sharing!
I was fortunate enough to see it way back when. It was so intense! Eyes locked, Peter and his partner fired clues with each breath at each other! It was wild!
Never saw it again though I've googled it every which way. Wish it had been shown when I could have recorded it. 🤷♀️
I was surprised that cat-like wasn't ruled out by Dr. Goodwin...
catlike is not hyphenated it is one word
Took that male contestant awhile but eventually he pitched the correct word.
Youstandonit was a great clue.
I love Carol's laugh lol.
Too mad that two episodes from that week are missing.
Oh, My. I didn't know they put the celebrities together! Very interesting.
I saw the routine with Jim Neighbors on CZcams. It was great!
They only have good looking contestants.
When this episode of Password first went on the air, the Toronto Maple Leafs just won the Stanley Cup! But then that whistle blew before a team had 25 points. Nobody knew that since that moment that would seem frightening to the Maple Leafs, the team is still looking for another Stanley Cup championship meaning they haven't won it since! Yes, even the Cubs won a World Series since 1967, the year the original Password show was cancelled!
(I was at school in Brooklyn on that day and missed the show--I believe!)
Speaking of sports, I remember when Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal in the 2007 Wimbledon Final. I tivo'd it and then watched it later that night so I could fast forward past all the commercials (true story)
Carol! We Love You!!
I wish I were in Jo Ellen's class. Nice!
She is a fantastic player
I once had a flower I named Bud.
Damn in THOSE DAYS You Win a Few Hundred Dollars and They Shuffle You Out. Today You Continue Playing Until YOU'RE DEFEATED.
"Of dog" is two words.
They gave them a lot of leeway with the two word clues in the lightening round.
Shows from the 24th and the 25th of that week not available for viewing.
for glory she should have sang HALELUJAH
Yes he is
Where are the episodes 24th and 25th with Carol Burnett and Peter Lawford?
It would be fun to see those...especially since the 24th was a carryover of the previous day's play.
Pyramid game vs Password. Which was best? I like the strictness of Password.
Both were two of the best game shows. Pyramid was great
I can't seem to find the episodes for 1967-05-24 and 1967-05-25... are they uploaded anywhere?
Slither~ Snake + movement.
Bad toupee Peter has on
No toupee...comb over
Carol cheated with the hand gesture of "Slither." I was already saying snake, but the hand gesture was *obvious* .
Peter cheated too.
They let them get away with a lot cuz they were so entertaining. And it’s just a silly game.
Dom Eonce, They certainly did.
@@domeonce9006 But it meant money to the contestants.
Carol Burnett's husband had been married once before her and had 8 children with his first wife. Three more with her..
Is it a requirement of Password that all contestants be thin???
Most people were thin. It was before fast food & all the junk they put in our food.
Apparently we controlled our eating and we’re more active back then. Majority of people were thin. That’s why the fat kid in school was singled out, there weren’t very many of them.
@@jimmytaylor9854yes. Now the SKINNY child gets laughed at!
1:15, man, this guy is dense!
Peter way to slow
Check out that haircut !! 😵
Which one? They're all atrocious.
