A group of Vietnam War veterans re-unite to rescue one of their own left behind and taken prisoner by the Vietnamese. Led by his father (a retired Marine Colonel) and supported by a rich businessman whose son is also a P.O.W., the group engages in a dangerous and violent adventure trying to rescue the P.O.W.s, and at the same time, re-direct their lives.

Grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. The men I looked up to were all Vietnam Vets including my Dad. I relate more to that generation than my own. Served 10yrs. as an Army medic and couldn’t be prouder. My Dad served with 3rd Marines 67-68. Thanks to all the Vietnam Veterans

This was the first of the back to Vietnam movies. Remember Chuck Norris was in two different movies that were set in Vietnam. There was also an episode of the A-Team in which they went back to Vietnam. These shows were based on the rumors of American POWs were still being held in Vietnam.
I think Miami Vice did one too. Or at least it was something like that. They played a lot of doors song....ha ha ha

This movie inspired me to look into joining the Army when I was in 7th grade (2001). It played back to back in TBS Superstation back then.
Here’s to getting accepted into the Warrant Officer/Helicopter Pilot program hopefully next year.
