THIS historical building is on U.S. and Canadian soil! | Haskell Free Library | Québec and Vermont

  • Passed by this cool gem while driving from Montreal to Boston. The Haskell Free Library and Opera House is a historical building that straddles the border between the United States and Canada.
    The main entrance is in Derby Line, Vermont. Literally right after crossing the border into the U.S.
    People can park on the street on either side of the ‘border neighborhood’ and walk into the library. No passport is needed for entry, but be sure to have it on you just in case! Border Patrol guards this area and you don’t want to get arrested for illegal crossing!
    There is an Opera House attached to the library, but you can only see inside with a scheduled tour, which we didn’t do at this time.
