My sister has a pit bull mix and she is so smart, loyal, cuddly, and expressive. Her sassy side eyes kill me. And she waits for my sister to go to bed, standing at the doorway with bloodshot eyes like "Come on, bedtime! Stop playing!" But my sister handles her with a lot of love and good discipline.
Vet student here. I agree with what you are saying, but I have a recommendation for you. Try feeding 3 times daily in smaller increments. Puppies do not have good control over their blood sugar until they are around 6 months old. So feeding only once a day causes them to have a blood sugar spike after eating, and then they crash. They will have more energy, grow better, and have stronger immune systems if you put them on a 3x per day meal plan 👍

In fact, it’s been proven that domestic dogs have evolved to replicate human facial expressions as best they can. AKA: yes, they are smiling 😊😁. Exp: You’ll notice wolves cannot manipulate their brows nearly as much as a bully or retriever
The way he raises his dog is not the only way to raise your dog. For example I leave food for my dogs and they are free to eat whenever they are hungry. They are not overweight at all. I can see your one of those people that like to tell people how to raise their dogs smh.

Beautiful puppies! You breed and take care of them very well. I have a Newfoundland Landseer. Chewy gets fed 1x per day raw diet. People say he’s spoiled but I know feeding him this way is what’s best. He’s healthy and beautiful.
I always feed my dogs smaller meals, several times a day...to keep them from bloat...& from having to lay around trying digest a big meal. My bully grandpup is alergic to wheat, corn, oatmeal, & dairy. He gets a meat, veggie, & rice diet.
Dogs can only digest a certain amount of food every 24hours so everything it eats on top of that gets stored in the gut to be digested when the body needs to.
I actually used to feed my dogs three times a day until I actually read the directions on the dog food bag and I was shocked it said feed one time a day. It told my how much to feed also. I actually thought for a second that they were wrong but researched and I was wrong. You’re right homie!!!

Speaking from experience i feed my pups 2x each day atleast. Their bodies cant just handle eating a larger meal once a day until they get around 5-6 months. For pups under that age, a one meal a day diet can work but they tend to have more health problems when they get older. Which some breeders/trainers dont see because they would have sold the dogs already.
@@znationreaper-9948after 4 months all our dogs get fed constantly while training, they earn every bite. Do some research before speaking up. Some dogs like Doberman and Danes it can be dangerous to feed all that food at once. Call your vet and ask or do a quick google search.
Bad practice. Humans are only supposed to eat once daily too. Our ancestors woke up, hunted, ate their catch/gathering in the late afternoon, then went to sleep early. Try that for a while and tell me how it feels. And before you say it's an animal, that's nature, Yada Yada, so are humans. Wild dogs will feed as often as possible. Feed animals twice if they're kept inside, 3x if they get enough exercise to warrant it.
Most veterinarians (including myself) recommend feeding adult dogs twice a day. Some people feed their dogs once a day, but dogs that are only fed once a day can get hungry and also sometimes can be prone to bilious vomiting (vomiting caused by an empty stomach). Puppies need to eat more frequently and should be fed four times per day at first, and can slowly be weaned down to twice daily feedings by about six months of age.

Vet student here. I agree with what you are saying, but I have a recommendation for you. Try feeding 3 times daily in smaller increments. Puppies do not have good control over their blood sugar until they are around 6 months old. So feeding only once a day causes them to have a blood sugar spike after eating, and then they crash. They will have more energy, grow better, and have stronger immune systems if you put them on a 3x per day meal plan 👍

In fact, it’s been proven that domestic dogs have evolved to replicate human facial expressions as best they can. AKA: yes, they are smiling 😊😁.

The way he raises his dog is not the only way to raise your dog. For example I leave food for my dogs and they are free to eat whenever they are hungry. They are not overweight at all. I can see your one of those people that like to tell people how to raise their dogs smh.

Beautiful puppies! You breed and take care of them very well. I have a Newfoundland Landseer. Chewy gets fed 1x per day raw diet. People say he’s spoiled but I know feeding him this way is what’s best. He’s healthy and beautiful.

We all do but they are fine. Its just at their age, they really are trying to grow and eat as much as possible
I always feed my dogs smaller meals, several times a day...to keep them from bloat...& from having to lay around trying digest a big meal. My bully grandpup is alergic to wheat, corn, oatmeal, & dairy. He gets a meat, veggie, & rice diet.
Dogs can only digest a certain amount of food every 24hours so everything it eats on top of that gets stored in the gut to be digested when the body needs to.

I actually used to feed my dogs three times a day until I actually read the directions on the dog food bag and I was shocked it said feed one time a day. It told my how much to feed also. I actually thought for a second that they were wrong but researched and I was wrong. You’re right homie!!!

@@WasBannedThowrong their body will only store small portions of the nutrients in each meal and dispose the rest. So if you give all the nutrients in one meal. They will absorb a small portion of that. Feed 3 - 4 times a day.

Speaking from experience i feed my pups 2x each day atleast. Their bodies cant just handle eating a larger meal once a day until they get around 5-6 months. For pups under that age, a one meal a day diet can work but they tend to have more health problems when they get older. Which some breeders/trainers dont see because they would have sold the dogs already.
Agree 100% mine is 3 months and eats 3 small portions a day. We are going to slowly cut this as she grows

@@znationreaper-9948after 4 months all our dogs get fed constantly while training, they earn every bite. Do some research before speaking up. Some dogs like Doberman and Danes it can be dangerous to feed all that food at once. Call your vet and ask or do a quick google search.

Bad practice. Humans are only supposed to eat once daily too. Our ancestors woke up, hunted, ate their catch/gathering in the late afternoon, then went to sleep early.
Try that for a while and tell me how it feels.
And before you say it's an animal, that's nature, Yada Yada, so are humans. Wild dogs will feed as often as possible.
Feed animals twice if they're kept inside, 3x if they get enough exercise to warrant it.
Most veterinarians (including myself) recommend feeding adult dogs twice a day. Some people feed their dogs once a day, but dogs that are only fed once a day can get hungry and also sometimes can be prone to bilious vomiting (vomiting caused by an empty stomach). Puppies need to eat more frequently and should be fed four times per day at first, and can slowly be weaned down to twice daily feedings by about six months of age.
