There's things in the story that exist to introduce simple gameplay mechanics like John telling you to go buy a gun is introducing the player to the concept of buying better guns.

FYI I'm sure it's been explained even though this game is called Red Dead redemption 2 this is actually a prequel to Red Dead Redemption 1. Not telling you who you play as or what you do (unless asked).
I swear the person playing is horrible. Missing all of his shots, trying to kill people with a VARMINT RIFLE, and randomly zoning out and idling, and can't ride a horse in a straight line lol

Its a shame how much you guys are missing by watching the cut scene missions only. You get to know so much about the gang by walking around camp, doing their side missions and reading letters. Also i just want to clear up that sons of dutch thing. Arther, then later John were raised by the two con men, Dutch and Hosa and miss grimshaw. Micha only started running with the gang a few months ago, like 6 i think? Abigail says John is jacks father which is why John took off from the gang for a year. Arthur resents him for not only abandoning his son but also the gang. They all like to call each other brothers and sons of Dutch but is John and Arthur that are closest to actually being those things.

Arthur was with Mary at a young age and it was serious until she left him cuz her and her family looked down on Arthur for his crimes and lifestyle so he proposed and she said no so he left then later she got married to another guy who died of pneumonia
It should be noted that back then women didn't have rights or freedom. Choosing a man to marry was incredibly important for a woman's survival. As much as i love Arthur, this was his biggest failure, not choosing to secure a future with Mary rather than being loyal to Dutch. He comes to terms with that by the end
If this guy truly plays like this and this is not his way of making things look slow paced, he better not set foot on RDOnline.

Haha im fascinated with both of your analysis on the current events of the story and the characters. Its evolved so much since the first episode and you both are doing a solid job with it. Unfortunately youll miss key moments because alot of character development and world building is within the gamplay when hangong around camp, but im sure thatll fill in a lot of gaps once you both actually play the game for yourselves.
Tips for when ou play: pit alot of emphasis on taking chunks of time hanging around camp with the gang and stay updated on the updates in Arthurs Journal. You will get so much insight that youd never realize was there compared to what you guy are doing now haha.
I think y’all are overthinking the Dutch comment a little. I think he was being more sarcastic than anything when he said why didn’t you turn me in
Actually she was dead on with her analysis. It was actually pretty impressive how she picked up on that. He's being sardonic, but he's also testing Arthur, because he's a narcissist who doesn't actually trust anyone, and is thinking everyone is lying to him. You'd know that if you played through both games
The lady was spot on. I'm even amazed that she she understood Dutch so well in such a short time. She said the same things that hard-core fans of the game have been saying.

I really love your channel and gaming series. After reading the comments I see I'm not the only person that notices the person in the gameplay is trash. Keep up the wonderful work and trust you're going fall more in love with this game as it goes on.
If you want to understand the dynamic think if it this way. Dutch and hoseA founded the gang. They found Arthur as an orphan and raised him. It was the 3 of them untill they found john. Those 4 are the core. The other members came in later. Some spent years with them, others are pretty new. The newest one is Micah.
Also this is my favorite game and I love seeing you react to it but the guy playing is horrible. I know you already addressed it but I can't wait for y'all to play it on your own
There have been other members who had come and gone. Arthur is about 34 and John is in his early twenties. Arthur was likely picked up around the age of 13/14 while John 16/17. So Arthur actually ran with Dutch and hosea for about a decade before John came along, and dealt with likely many other members along the way. But based on pictures, the 3 of them were the tightest.
Hopefully rdr3 will give us a prequel to the prequel and we'll see the past members

I am loving your reactions to RDR2 so very much but the guy doing the gameplay sucks, there are so many unnecceary pauses and cinematic cameras that shouldnt be included because he always accidently pauses or skips dialogue because of how limitting the view of cinematic camera is it ends up interrupting the dialogue, not to say that the gameplay itself is very subpar due to the guy trying too much to look cool but it always backfires.
Yeah they're so bad at the game it's exhausting

Guys. It's enjoyable to watch your reactions and your opinions, even when they are very wrong (which is funny), but please remember the guy playing is terrible. So terrible that he's editing out his mistakes, and his play is distorting how the story should go. It really looks like a 7 year old is playing this game. For someone who has spent a couple thousand hours on this game, it's massively cringey

Dutch saying "Why didn't you turn me in" is his sense of humor. Now this attitude or demeanor "may" change but right now that's just Dutch's brand of humor. Also notate Arthur, and John have been with Dutch and Hosea the longest, Micah had only been "running" with them about 6 months or so.
