It's so sad that the running theme of these is always 2 steamrolling the competition, 3 sometimes showing up, and 4 coming in dead last 💀
Sims 2 was a great game, but Sims 3 will always be my favorite (unless some other company gets the rights to the Sims.... we can dream). The open world added so much I can live with a few sacrifices here and there to make it work. It feels like the Sims 3 was so ambitious that the Sims 4 devs were scared and went to go hide in a corner...
i swear to god the sims 2 had WAYY more details then ts3 and ts4
Sims 2 has the best detailed animation hands down but the model is just so off, i tried with sims mods to at least make the sims more prettier but ends up corrupted each of my saves. 🫠🫠
Kind of understandable for ts3 though since it'd be harder to run with more animations
@@nichoneko4554 whaaattt I think Sims 2 had one of the best looking Sims, after 1's squares and 3's weird blobs. 4 has decent Sims as well
sims 2 is good because it details the small things, sims 3 details big things but not the small things, and sims 4 is just junk with better graphics
In the sims 3 you can also eat with chopsticks, ur sim just has to have the Chinese culture hidden trait. All locals in China have it and it also can be passed down to offsprings. My sim married a girl from China, and all their six children sing chinese songs and eat with chopsticks 😅
Wow TS3 offers so much deep gameplay it's almost overwhelming sometimes!
Yes! I assigned this trait to my simself (with NRAAS' MasterController) bc I typically eat with chopsticks myself, so it made sense. Love that hidden trait and love that it can be inherited
@@insanelysquishysquidpawslol i know how this looks😂😂 but remember that his expansion pack came out in 2009, things like this were apparently ok
I mean it’s not really bad it just feels weird like why can they only use chopsticks? And why can’t non-Chinese sims use chopsticks as well? but it did add some cultural depth to sims which i quite appreciate 🙏🤍
Sims 2 and 3 has the most love in it with the animations. Sims 4 just screams lazy.
@@panicfanatdtheres nothing wrong with that, i wish sims 4 took sims 2 and 3 animations and upgraded them and kept adding new things. its not like every sims game has to be completely new and unrelated to the one before
2004 but TS2 is always 2.000 steps ahead...
Actually if I remember correctly, sims in sims 2 use chopsticks when they're eating a chinese takeout
Now that you mention it, I do remember them doing that. I think they also use chopsticks when eating food from the Far East themed food kiosk.
@@Sitycimsyou also forgot the pizza thing.... where in the sims2 if u take a piece of the pizza it will appear as if you have taken a piece and also as the sim holds the pizza, the piece actually kinda hangs like it does irl.... i dont think thats present in the other games
Sims 3 also has chopsticks, when you go to China or if the sim has the hidden Asian trait in world adventure
I remember as a kid that I would play Sims 2 for inspiration on what to eat that day. I also bothered my mum to cook me some of the foods from TS2/TS3 because I've never seen some of them before
In sims 2 you can stock your fridge with produce that you’ve grown using the gardening plots. When you cook with the fresh food supplies the meals will have sparkles around the plate and fill the hunger bar much faster. The sims will do a happy belly rub thinking about the fresh food!
You can do that in Sims 4 as well :) Growing your own food is fun!!!
Sims 2 can be deceiving. That is something you would likely need to pay extra attention to spot; I swear the game keeps track of everything!!
I remember in Sims 2 where the wife was making sandwiches and her sloppy husband burbs behind her and she briefly look behind and giggled at him
I've never played Sims 2, but I'll have to say it wins, for all those interactions!
Sims 2 and 3 are the best games made but if they did a little treaking in sims 2 it would be the only one i would play
If sims 2 had better family trees graveyards and skills and physique it would be the ultimate sims game we need a sims 2 remastered
No we don't, you see how sims 4 is, these would be the same people remaking it.
Sims 4 cooking is like a weird performance. Almost clown/pantomime level exaggerated 🥴
@@Sitycims like, imagine just trying to make some sandwiches and suddenly juggling and spinning bowls. They can do all that nonsense but they can’t use cupboards 💀
@@marinaxloveMaxis doesn't seem to know where are the priorities anymore 💀
Yeah, it's fun to look at first, but then it became annoyingly repetitive and way over the top.
Stop playing with the knife and just cook, Sarah! Your children are STARVING.
Gosh the cooking animations in Sims 4 is so annoying. No one ever cooks like that in real life.
You forgot in sims 3 if you have the slob trait, you can lick the plate clean.
This half naked dude crying in the background with spoiled food on the table at 4:15 is such a mood
In The Sims 4, Sims with the Vegetarian trait (which I think is now base game) will eventually vomit if you repeatedly force them to eat non vegetarian food. Other food related details are tied to packs (like food poisoning with Dine Out or the Lactose intolerant trait with Cottage Living)
My problem is my vegetarian autonomously prepare and eat non-vegetarian food all the time so they’re always miserable. Why? What is the purpose of this? I don’t understand Sims 4 at all. It’s like it was designed by 18 people who never talk to each other and just guess what the others are doing.
@@kryw10 it's probably bugged then, I remember checking it out when City Living was first released and Sims ate according to their diet
@@andrea99sims it’s definitely bugged. I just don’t use the trait anymore. I liked it in Sims 3, but they didn’t do this.
I played with Werewolves. and Jacob Volkov NEVER Cooked anything that was Not Vegetarian, nor would he eat it Unless he was starving (Which is when Vegetarian or Lactose-Intolerant Sims no longer care about WHAT They eat, but rather care about survival), of course though I had him cease being a Vegetarian some time after becoming a Young Adult. as if he decided to move away from the Vegetarian Diet , to each their own
In Sims 3, if you have a Vegetarian vampire, they will only enjoy fairy plasma :D it's a little known secret I like to share. They dislike any other occults including humans!
Sims can die from food poisoning in the sims 2 if they don’t get healed and their mood is kept in the red zone by neglecting most of their needs.
I remember that in sims 3 sims with childish trait could lick plate also, I have to cancel his interaction lol
The lack of detail actually makes TS4 so boring and repetitive I can’t play for more than an hour no matter what I try
Mods make it fun :D though I know console players can't use them so that sucks :(
Then it's your problem if you only play it that way. If your only goal is to max career and skills. There are things to do in ts4, just create stories for the sims, there are many ways to make it more fun rather than just grind skills and career
@@theminegirl3775 This guy is evil so if he do bad things he will be happy.
This guy is nice so if he do good things he will be happy.
The memories come with a expansion pack.
The storytelling of the sims 4 is bad and the personalities and emotions are even worse
I ditched Sims4 and only play Sims 1-3.
Nothing wrong with liking different games.
Sims 3 also has chopsticks, when you go to China or if the sim has the hidden Asian trait in world adventure.
@@Sitycims Sims 4 is not that "more inclusive" or "diverse" as it claimed to be. Chopsticks use has been around since Sims 2.
The only thing that is weird for Sims 4 is Sims will use Chopsticks to eat when the food is not meant to eat with chopsticks.
@@Sitycims Sims from China in World Adventures will eat with chopsticks and greet other sims by bowing. "Chinese" is a hidden trait in the game and it's inheritable, meaning that if your sim has a kid with a Chinese sim, there's a chance that kid will automatically eat with chopsticks too. It's like the hidden "pizza lover" or "pyromaniac" traits that happen if you have a kid with the pizza guy or the firefighter respectively
I do have to share some things.
-Spoiled food does make sims nauseous in The Sims 4. However, sims won't vomit every time they are nauseous. However, you can have them throw up when clicking on a toilet.
-The Sims 4 is not the only game to feature chopsticks. In The Sims 3, sims in China or Asian Culture hidden trait eat food with chopsticks. And in The Sims 2, food bought from Far East's food stand is eaten with chopsticks. However, The Sims 4 is the only game where sims have to learn how to use chopsticks.
-Poor quality food in The Sims 4 does look burnt, which doesn't make sense with some food like salad. I do agree it's disappointing...
-The Sims 4 is the only game where sims can cook together, even involving children into the activity.
Other than that, great overview video.
Thank you for the clarifications, these were brought to my attention in the comments already! And for cooking together I wanted to include it but decided not to, like I said in the pinned comment, there was so much more extra content that I wanted to include!
So maybe in another video.
I always found it weird how the sims in the Sims 3 cook. Like, their gestures and posture while cooking look like they're a 5 year old in the kitchen.
I hate how it takes an ETERNITY for sims to make a simple meal in Sims 4. They have to do all of these stupid tricks and maneuvers and it's so annoying.
This reminds me that when my sim was in uni world (sims 3), one of her dormmate kept cooking a group meals of burnt food although there was a perfect quality food in the fridge. It pissed me off because he kept leaving these plates on counters, so I forced him to eat all of his burnt food (with mod) until he became fat.
Sims 2 also has chopsticks when eating Chinese take out/delivery, or Chirashi or..
whoa what??? you cant burn food in sims 4 or cause a fire? i've recently been playing 2 and 3 but i literally never noticed sims 4 never burn food
haha imagine if irl you ate spoiled food and you just got sad but nothing happened
I think you can accidently start a fire in sims 4 simply by sucking at cooking.
the name of this video should be the devolution of the sims
🥲
Katy Perry meme is when Sims 4 team being interview
Food interactions in the Sims 2 are amazing 😭
You are the only channel that I actually laugh at when it comes to this stuff. I follow two other channels that do this, but your addition to the edits and sound effects makes it so hilarious! And then the replays on some like the oven scene. It’s just all amazing.
@@Sitycims you’re welcome! You’re so good, I made grammatical errors in my post and didn’t realize that’s how good you are 😂
In TS4 you play as Baby Ariel
Sims 2 was ahead of its time!!! I loved all the details ♥Sims 3 & 4 robbed us of them.
I hate when they have the fancy preps they take forever to cook
sims 4 could never...
Sims 2 is the winner because of the details and their smart
In the sims 4
If there are leftovers They will remove food scraps before washing the dishes.
Am I the only one who turns off the stove when I walk away??
Oh ho! Think I just found myself a new sims channel to follow. I love comparisons like these, and you add a lot of personality to it, even without a voice! Makes it entertaining and educational (from the sense of. devouring every last scrap of knowledge about the franchise)
amazing work! :D
I immediately recognized the Baxters, at first I thought it was just a coincidence, but then Don showed up, bros putting easter eggs for only those who know
Are you serious? You can't burn food in TS4? what the hell.
0:53 - 0:55 the little hip bump to close the drawer is such a cute little detail
Sims 2 was full of incredible little details that made it so much more immersive.
I think Sims in the Sims 4 do get food poisoning, first they get a moodlet and then a second, stronger moodlet where they can vomit
it’s so sad that sims 4 doesn’t have the interactions such as feeding each other, throwing food etc like sims 2. here’s hoping that sims 5 will be a HUGE upgrade from sims 4…
I used to spend hours playing TS2 and I was always mesmerized by the steaming food. TS3 is a hot mess but at least they tried.
Really appreciating your videos ❤ love the music and details, Please keep up 😍
I like the "Grand Meal" idea in Sims 4 - it makes the celebration. Also, in 2022 we could get the update, where the whole family can cook the dishes together at the same time - it really cute))
sims 3 feels like a more polished version of sims 2, while sims 4 is that one arse hole trying to be part of the friend group but nobody likes them
In The Sims 4, if your Sim maximizes the Gourmet skill, he can improve the quality of the meal and if the Sim completes the Cooking aspiration (I don't remember the name, but it's the culinary chef aspiration), the foods made by the Sim will never spoil
They should have imported/borrowed animations from The Sims 2 and 3, and improved upon them...
Sims 2 is still best in my opinion, then sims 3 then the Sims 4.
Sims 4 just got super lazy like food not having heat come from it not getting burnt.
Like really?
I consider Sims 2 best overall, but Sims 3 best when it comes to world building (for the fully open world) and customization (create a style). Sims 4 has only one thing it's best at: Create a Sim. That's literally it. Sims 4 isn't worth playing once you leave CAS
If you pay attention to sims cooking in the Sims 3 you will notice the sim put the ingredient required to make that dish (as listed in the recipe in the game) in the food they're preparing. Like if they're making mac and cheese they will put a wedge of cheese in the bowl while they're mixing it up.
put all good features of them in sims 5 and we're all gonna be happy
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH IM A HUGE FAN!!!
I don't know English. But I laughed + memes.
Top moments: No gloves: 2:29. Magic: 2:49. Typical bugs sims 4: 3:01. 😂
It's more like - Наелся и спит. 6:24 (Full and sleeping)
sims 2 was def the best- why do I feel like the newer games had a glow DOWN?😭
The food AI in Sims 2 is proof that this game was lightyears ahead of the rest. It is neat how everyone comes to eat once the meal is finished. By the time Sims 4 came around, they got too lazy!
As a fun note, I recall the nausea/vomiting thing being added later to the game in Sims 3. I updated the sims, loaded the game, and within minutes I had a sim vomit. That came as a surprise.
i think the only reason i play the sims 4 is CAS and the way it looks…
Sims 4 was actually my first Sims game outside of the My Sims series (sad, I know.) I’ve tried to play The Sims 3, but I find myself getting overwhelmed by all the different gameplay options. Plus, I’m more used to the more bright and cartoonish graphics of TS4. That being said, I still know that TS3 is superior in nearly every way. I need to go back and try playing it again sometime.
wow, that video intro with the "su su" xD
Dine out let’s you get food poisoning sims vomit, get a moodlet and call up the restaurant 😅
8:01 not the food going in her eyes 😭
I love how the newest game of a series is supposed to be a step up from the previous ones, and the Sims 4 just exists….
Once again the Sims 2 is triumphant! The Sims 3 is also good and the Sims 4 could never!!
3:30 Oh, that's not smoke, that's just steam from the steamed clams we'll be having
Anybody else get incredibly annoyed by the constant coughing Sims would do when eating in the Sims 3? I swear even when I make perfect food they are still hacking up a lung lol
Ts2 foods never spoiled when you put it inside sims inventory. It is unrealistic but very useful tech in the situation when sims already too hungry to prepare meal.
you forgot that sims can actually die by flies if you keep a lot spoiled food with flies in the sims 2
Im pretty sure in the sims 2 the food spoils in the fridge as well. And they do have chopsticks for chinese food
I also wish they’d put sims 2 and Katy perry sweet treats up for sale ! But I’d imagine nobody would buy sims 4 if they did. Well news flash make a better game.
The Sims 2 is my favorite and is the best.
i dont understand why they dont keep the good things in the next games. like removing steam, traces of the meal and food burning??? and ingredients spoiling if the cooking is left unfinished.
only thing i understand is removing using drawers bc there are different types of counters
if TS2 had food Physics (or atleast spinning textures) it would be decisively the best of them all (and it may be possible to make the food object "Spin" the texture during Mixing), I think Sims 3 was okay, but the loss of the interaction with Cabinets was not good, and 4... it would have been alot better if it did, though yes the tricks are welcome...just it would be cool if the "Normal" Animations were detailed. and the trick was used as the "Finisher" for that stage
In Sims 4 there is a bug with food, it seems to me that when you are not an expert in cooking, you are level 0, the meals most of the time are impeccable and that seems to me to be a very tremendous bug. In previous sims, the food when you were a beginner at cooking did not turn out well, sometimes it was just normal but it was not delicious, it was difficult for it to turn out that way. You had to improve your cooking skills. That bug bothers me a lot because they want to make it look like it's easy to cook and it's not like that.
*Sim opens fridge door and sees mouldy food*
Sims 3: Nearly vomits
Sims 4: "no problems at all here"
🙄
Just realized you can even see that the gas burner is on while the sim is cooking on the stove top! That's some crazy attention to detail.
The restaurant pack has gave my sims food poisoning so many times, they always refund the money💀💀
one detail is sims 3 has food quality levels (way more than just poor/normal/excellent) and burnt food is automatically 'horrifying quality'
Wait so the sims 4 oven glitch is normal? I thought it was just my thousands of mods and cc that made that happen
how a game from 2014 is way worst than the others from 2004 and 2009?
Lower your music volume. Greatly improve your vids. We wanna hear the Sims reactions.
wait i feel dumb, I had no idea you can put cooked foods in the fridge in sims 2 😭I can’t find the option so my meals spoil so quickly
Well, the sims 2 food also spoils in the fridge. It just takes so long that you'll probably have your sims eat the leftovers before it spoils. I once had a sim make every meal and store in the fridge and eventually had the option to clean out spoiled food.
Sims 2 also eat with their chopsticks in Sims 2 Bon Voyage
I have always love cooking in The sims 2, but now in the TS4 its not that and its boring, even though theres a lot of recipes then in TS2 :(
I swear every comparison video just makes TS4 look like the unpolished mess it is
Because it was unpolished remember the absolutely monstrosity the launch was
Unfinished and only 4 life stages.
@@Sapphire-dw7sd And once they put at leaat a little polish in it they made it free
In Sims 4 instead of steam you get sparkles~
Can we talk about how long it takes for sims in sims 4 to have a meal because of all the smiling and looking around for no reason?
it's so sad how through the games they just become more and more dead/lazy, however TS3 still had some good stuff from TS2 and physics improvement which is very cool (and the stirring animation from TS4 is good we can't deny that)
In sims 4 sims does not only get a moodlet... they will randomly at any point will run to throw up while having that moodlet. And you can click on the toilet and make them to throw up on their own to lower the uncomfortable moodlet. You can make the table all famcy by putting napkins and utencils, there are different colors and different themes. This interaction also raises manners to children and teens. It's still nothing compared to sims 3 and 2 but still. This is how sims 4 is downgraded. Skipping on steps to make it look worse. It's clear that you didn't explore sims 4 that much as sims 2 or 3
As always :
The Sims 2 still being the best in 2023 for gameplay, personalities with true aspirations, all it's details and funny elements.
But
The Sims 1 is the only one not being a mess in it's UI when you have too much expansions, It's ambiance is also the best with the Sims 2 really close.
The Sims 3 did some things better like Open world, customisation, likes/dislikes and traits (but it should have been in combinaison with the Sims 1/2 points)
The Sims 4 is just bad, only the CAS and build mode are better but not their interface, globally TS4 has the worst UI and gameplay (OMG it is so bad and boring).
In the Sims 3 & 4 almost everything is unlocked by default, it's boring, where is the challenge ?
I wonder if the sims 5 will finally be a better game than TS2.
Some Occults in 4 are actually pretty good. and I say this as a person who played The Sims since 2004 and adores 2's Details, and I've seen 3 through, and as for 4, I think Werewolves and Vampires are Good (Werewolves are better in my Opinion Despite their Cartoony looks, Simply. take the Eyebrows Away, give them wolvish feet. and make them have eyes without eyewhites), but Witches/Warlocks/Spellcasters leave something to be Desired in 4 for me personally
Who said food doesn't burn in The Sims 4? I can't count how many times my sims burnt food.
Sims 2 forever stan.
Sims 4 the food does spoil if it's still onn the cutting board. I did an experiment and I found that out
@@Sitycims you did? I must have missed that- I was playing the Sims while watching this so- lol
I like when the sims seems to be literally contained just pure water inside their bodies! It makes it less gross for sensitive players. Anything coming out is always clear or blue such as puking and peeing but it still makes things visible dirty as normal somehow! That training operation doll career award from Sims 2 is blue on the inside so maybe the sims' inside are indeed blue!
No glove ? Wow..she must have hot prove
Ts4 isn't the only game that has chopsticks. Sims in 2 will eat ordered chinese food with chopsticks. In 3, sims who have the "chinese culture" hidden trait (given to people from shang simla and their future kids) will eat everything with chopsticks. However it is true that the sims 4 is the only game where sims use the chopsticks *properly*. In the other two they just hold them like forks/spoons which looks a little weird.
On a side note, why not include the sims 1 in the video? In my opinion it does have some interesting food-related details, like the sims actually cutting their food before they take a bite.

Comment which is the best! For me, it's a hard tie between TS2 and TS3 but I have to give it to The Sims 2 because of how detailed and well implemented food is overall. But The Sims 3 still deserves some credits for its visual additions!
Also there was so much more ''extra'' content that I wanted to add but it would have been too much for one video, so more food things might come in a future video!
