  • This is by far the most beautiful hat I have (so far) ever made.
It works up so fast too!
If you don't care for the magic ring no worries! Just Ch 4 slip stitch to join and chain up 2. Remember this chain WILL count as a Double Crochet so remember to count it. :)
My lovely gray hat is made with the Caron Simply Soft.
It measures 20 inches around and 8.5 inches from the top to the brim. This is all before stretch.
My 4 double crochet = about 1 inch.
NOTES: The multi colored hat is the sea shell using Red Heart Unforgettable in Tealberry. Lovely isn't it?

I love to watch Rose, from Rose likes crochet. She talks about this hat a lot. She is just in love with the pattern and the hat. I followed a link she provided under a video. She was right. You make this easy. And once you get it, it just flows off your hook. Thanks so much 🧶🥰

I had never picked up a crochet needle before two days ago. I had bought this kind of hat from a friend four years ago, but it came up missing this winter. I decided I would make it since my friend is no longer available. I went to the store to buy the needle and yarn, then - searched CZcams attempting to begin using other videos. It got nowhere until I found this tutorial. As you mentioned each stitch - I found the instructions via another video and practiced until I had learned all required stitches. At that point, I sat down with you and began. I have a beautiful hat on the FIRST attempt thanks to your clear instructions. I am finishing my second go at it and have worked out some of the minor mistakes I made on my first attempt.
Much thanks to you for sharing your skill. You are definitely a creative talent, but more importantly a skilled teacher.

I love this hat! I crochet tight and didn't want to go up a hook size so I started with 16 dc instead of 15. This gave me 80 st for the body instead of 75 st. Then I dec to 76 st for the brim. It turned out beautiful and is a perfect fit for my 22 inch head. Thank you for this tutorial!

You did a great job on this tutorial. Very easy to follow as I completed my hat this evening. It was so easy and it worked up quickly! I loved how the whole hat shapes properly when completed. I used Loops & Threads soft and shiny in cream, worked with a lace-weight mohair in a grayish-purple color. Looks like a tweed. At first I was thinking I'd add a pompon, but decided against that now that it's completed. Thanks again for an easy-to-follow pattern.

Thank you for getting back so soon. Best explanation for the magic ring. Also purchased the four corner virus shawl pattern. Already made 3, they came out perfect. Two for me and one for my granddaughter. Thanks again.

Jonna Martinez I made the matching cowl last night , your teaching is amazing that was 3 different tutorials I tried to follow and I couldn’t get it but the way you do it I just picked it up straight away so thank you so much 🥰 .... may I ask I have lots of 3weight yarn DK can this hat be made with this size of yarn and if so would it be a smaller hook and starting with more stitches at the beginning ? 🥰
