we visited many years ago before this was done to the building.. tis was one of the many sites we took in.. we came up during the day and later in the evening about sunset..the first time we came up into the 2 story eatery up top.. when we realized our mistake(and I took some photos of that place.) we had to go back down and catch the next elevator over..to get up top..the view was awesome..(wondered what lighthouse is visble directly east out in the lake) ..was hoping to see a huge freighter but didn't see anyting other than the yellow powerboat that buzzes around and does 360s on the water.. the downtown view was awesome as well I donthave much issue with heights but I dared not get close to the edge.. when we were there you did not have the plexiglass stepouts in yet..those were installed later the following year.. we were there in 2009.. my most favorite place was the transportation museum with the one whole wing containing the huge train layout.. everything in that was authentic models.. everything was working too that was so cool..
